Halloween Mini Book

Hi all Erin here.  Time for a fun Halloween mixed media mini junk book.  Filled with all kinds of layers and fun Eyelet Outlet gems, brads, and more it is a chance to play and have fun!!

Here is a video tutorial on how I constructed the book and added in all the colors with mists on each page - the bones of the book have you.  When it was done it looked like a little briefcase!

Here is what one of the pages looked like before I added in all the embellishments.

I then let it all dry and added in some fun to each page with Eyelet Outlet brads, gems, and enamel dots, plus some other fun things.

Another Fun Fold!

Happy Saturday!  Halloween is just two short days away!  I enjoy this season so much and I'm disappointed that this year I will be missing out on meeting and greeting the trick or treaters.  (My son and I sing in a community choir and with concert just a few weeks away, we could not afford to miss our regularly scheduled Monday night practice).

I saw another interesting fold tutorial over on Splitcoaststampers, and so I thought I would give it a whirl!  It turned out to be fast, easy and fun!

The design is great for coordinating prints and small stamps and fits into a regular envelope.  I used some cute skull and witch's hat brads, some glittery washi tape, and a few glossy enamel dots for accents.  Gotta love that grumpy frog face!

Have a great weekend, and a fabulously fun Halloween!

"Aye, Aye Matey"

Hello again Eyelet Outlet fans, Barry, your prince of paper here to show you a card that I had so much fun making using Eyelet outlet brads, bling and baubles!

First I used the skinny red washi tape on white card stock for my base to create a red and white pattern, next I had the Silhouette Cameo print and then cut a pirate map (which is a file in the software).  I cut out a skull and pirate hat also from a file from the Silhouette and attached a skull brad on the brim.  I needed to have some pirate booty so I attached a red pearl brad to the compass symbol.

Finally, I used the red jewel strip to indicate a path to where "X" marks the spot!  This was so much fun to make and I hope that you are inspired to create your own projects when using Eyelet outlet products.  Thanks again for coming to the blog and seeing how you can create your own custom cards, invitations and scrapbook layouts using brads, bling and baubles from Eyelet Outlet.

Cardinal Sympathy

A cardinal is often thought to be representative of a loved one who has passed.

When you see one, it means your loved one is visiting you.  They often show-up when you most need them or miss them.  I feel the presence of my dear mother-in-law every time I see one of the bright red birds in the tree outside our living room window.

Given this symbolism, the Cardinal Brads are the perfect embellishment for sympathy cards.  My Sympathy Die was cut from both navy & white cardstock and attached to create a slight shadow.

Next I perched a few cardinals on the die cut ... such a quick & easy way to really add some pop to a simple card design.

I finished with a few enamel dots to highlight the white shadow on the die cut.

Hello, Autumn!

Here in New Jersey where I (Lauren) live, we've been having the loveliest fall weather imaginable. The days are sunny but free of summer's humidity, the nights are cool and crisp, and the leaves are just starting to change color. It's such a beautiful time of year, I thought I'd try to capture it in card form using some of my favorite Eyelet Outlet goodies:

I had a lot of fun playing with these lovely floral layering stamps, and I really like how they look on a background of vintage text paper. But of course I always want my cards to have texture as well, so I added Stitched Flower BradsStitched Flower Mini Brads and Leaf Brads in similar shades to give my collage some dimension.

A little strip of Glitter Gold Washi makes my diecut sentiment pop. And who can resist a few beautiful orange Butterfly Brads and Mini Butterfly Brads(Not me, lol!) A little bit of machine stitching is a great finishing touch, and this card is ready to be mailed!

What's your favorite thing about autumn... and how could you use it to inspire your next creation?

plans to spend as much time outside as possible before winter arrives;

Bling Pumpkin Boxes

I have had these fun little pumpkin jack-o-lantern boxes for ages.  I picked them up at Michael's years ago from the clearance section after Halloween waiting for the perfect project.  So here we go, glammed up pumpkins with sequins and gems perfect for a box for teachers or a friend!!

Here is a video tutorial on how I made these fun boxes.

Some of the project I did as a live event - here is the live video - with some other pumpkins too!

Some of the boxes I used the Eyelet Outlet stickyback bling strips for the edges for a fun effect.  I used a champagne and clear colors in 2 different sizes.

Priorities!

Can you believe that October is more than half over already?!  The holidays are just around the corner!  There's so much to do and so little time, one has to set some priorities!   It's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind, though, so we should not feel guilty for setting aside some down time to take care of ourselves!  That's what this card is all about!

Needles and yarn from our new set of knitting brads create a focal point and complete the sentiment of this uncluttered layout, with washi tape borders that are in keeping with the theme.

It's hard to be in the mood to knit (or spin) in Florida when the weather is hot, but I've got a stash of fiber and yarn that will be coming out to keep me company when it gets a little cooler!

Enjoy your weekend!
