3...2...1...HAPPY NEW YEAR!

In a few days, we'll be counting down the clock to the new year, 2020.  It's a time of celebration, fireworks, hope, family, friends, and setting resolutions for the year to come.

Today's shadow box card entitled "3...2...1...HAPPY NEW YEAR" captures some of those feelings with Eyelet Outlet's classic cars and red truck perched on a hill watching the fireworks emphasized with bling strips.  The fence features Eyelet Outlet's ladybug, ant, and bright flowers while the Eyelet Outlet silver glitter enamel dots are a finishing touch adorning the happy new year sign at the top of the card.

The floating 2020 sign is accomplished through the use of  heavyweight acetate and matches the fence made of silver glitter paper.  The box card is lined with fireworks paper and is created from a Stamps of Life die.  A hand-written note or sentiment stamp can be included on the back of the shadow box card.

This card will bring a smile to anyone young or old celebrating the new year  Head on over to the Eyelet Outlet site for the items you can include in your 2020 card.

Happy New Year

Ready or not, 2020 is upon us! I'm celebrating the New Year with this card featuring Champagne brads from Eyelet Outlet's Wedding Brads Set.

I recently discovered the fun of using foil HTV on card stock. That's right!  Iron-on isn't just for fabric!  The flourishes and the year "2020" are done with foil iron-on and I accentuated the opposite corners with some Eyelet Outlet foil washi tape.  And what's a little bubbly without some stick on pearls and gems for bubbles?

Thanks for stopping in today and watch for some great new products from Eyelet Outlet in 2020!

Ho Ho Ho with Some Washi Tape

Can you believe it? It's almost Christmas. WOW! I'm so excited, are you? But I couldn't let this pre-Christmas day go by without one more Christmas card for 2019.

The background is made entirely with Eyelet Outlet Washi Tape:

I attached the strips of Washi Tape to a piece of sturdy white cardstock; cut it with a die and then reassembled the pieces.

Swirly Thanks

For many, Christmas is a time of family, friends, fun, celebration, and of course, Santa Claus with his presents!   We're just days away from the long-awaited day. But don't forget that after the presents comes the thank you.

Today's card entitled "Swirly Thanks" is a fast and easy card to have on hand for that special thank you.  There are four steps to this card:

* Create the card frame by scoring the card (from the inside) at 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch on each edge of the card front (top, bottom. and two sides).

* If desired, ink blend your favorite color around the frame of the card and lightly throughout the card front.  Using a colored card base eliminates the need to ink blend.

* Position and apply Eyelet Outlet's Black Pearl Swirls across the front of the card leaving room on the lower left for a sentiment.  Add the large swirl then add several additional swirl pieces as desired.  Place the Eyelet Outlet Red Glitter Enamel Dots at the beginning and ending of a swirl for additional interest and consistency.

* Add a thank you sentiment (stamped, die cut, or pre-made sticker) and the card is complete!

My Favorite Color is Christmas Lights!

My granddaughter used to say that her favorite color was rainbow and I totally get that!  It's hard to narrow down a single color that is my favorite and my husband and I are both in the camp that prefers all colored lights on the Christmas tree!

When I saw this cute file on the Cricut "Eat, Drink & be Merry" image set, I knew it was for us!  And I also knew that Eyelet Outlet Holiday Light Brads were going to be a part of the project!

I used the reverse canvas technique on this and HTV with my Cricut Easy Press.  I love the way the brads add to the 3-D effect of this little art piece.  Brads aren't just for paper crafting!  :)

Thanks for stopping in today and have a wonderful holiday with those you love!

Sometimes You Feel Like a Nut(cracker)

Especially when it's a week before Christmas and you suddenly discover you're a few cards short of what you need to cover the ENTIRE list; which seems, mysteriously, to have somehow grown since last year?! At least, that's what happened to me (Lauren) recently. And you know that I love to make every card unique and special, but in crisis mode, what I need are a few flat, mail-able cards... FAST! Luckily I have a good supply of Eyelet Outlet Nutcracker Brads and Washi Tape, so I'm already half way there.

Of course the other half is a background and a sentiment, so some seriously "cheating" is in order. Rather than stamp or paint I'm going to jumpstart with patterned papers from a collection that coordinates with the brads I've chosen, in this case those handsome Nutcrackers. My LSS, Paper Anthology, has the entire gorgeous line of Authentique's "Rejoice" which features traditional xmas colors and a few absolutely stunning plaids, as you can see. For my first card, I started with a plaid panel and added an inset just tall enough to accommodate the height of the Nutcrackers and two strips of XO Gold Foil Tape to really set them off. I'm excited that sets of "wordfetti" sticker sentiments are making a comeback because they are the ultimate in quick customization!

For my second card I decided to get a little fancier with my background, so I chose another plaid, and added tape accents as if they were part of the design. Since the patterned paper has such nice strong horizontal and vertical lines it was easy to incorporate Checked Tape plus two coordinating shades of Glitter Skinny Tape which even add a bit of texture, with no fear of extraneous glitter shedding everywhere! This time my two Nutcracker Brads are standing right on top of their sticker sentiment and framed up in a couple of nesting label-shape diecuts.

Since the possibilities of Brads + Tape + patterned paper are nearly endless, I think I might make a few more "extra" cards... just in case!

will be in the living room addressing cards
for the foreseeable future...

Sparkling Ornaments

Today's card, 'Sparkling Ornaments' featuring Eyelet Outlet brads and snow bling with a background of holiday green and shimmery silver paper definitely makes the holiday spirit come alive!

Last week on the Facebook Eyelet Outlet page a question was posed: "Where do you come up with all these ideas?"  This card is a partial answer to that question.  I was watching a cooking show and a dessert was being made.  I watched carefully and realized that the shape was something that could be used in cardmaking!  For me, inspiration is all around!

With one small circle set, this card came together easily.  Although the base was always the same size, the inside circles are varied in size and can accommodate many different brads.  Also, this can easily be turned into a shaker card by adding acetate and your favorite shaker filling.

The snow bling plays a key role in finishing the card by tying all elements together.

Poinsettia's are Pretty!

Good Thursday morning, crafters!  Just under two weeks until Christmas and yikes!  My Christmas cards are not in the mail yet!  They are ready, but just finishing up addressing them. Here's one of this years cards.

I love the way this stair step card shows off some of Eyelet Outlet's gorgeous holiday washi tape!  On this card I used the poinsettia tape on the sides and the Merry Christmas tape across the bottom.

Also on this card, I used Eyelet Outlet gold stick on pearls for the center of my poinsettia and accentuated the greenery behind the poinsettia with one of our great pine cone brads.

Thanks for stopping in today and I hope you'll follow the links in the post to find great holiday embellishments at Eyelet Outlet.

Until next week, keep on crafting!

Snow Far, Snow Good

I confess that I (Lauren) do not actually love snow in real life, BUT... I love it on holiday cards, especially shaker cards that star the new Eyelet Outlet Snowman Couple Brads!

Because seriously what in the world could be cuter than a Snowman and Snowwoman all dressed up for a Snow Date?! After I filled the shaker cup with clear microbeads and a few tiny sequins, I concentrated on making a background that went well with that scene. I decided they should live on a Christmas Tree Farm, which I made by filling the lower 2/3 of a plain white cardstock panel with Christmas Tree Washi Tape, lined up nice and neatly. I filled the "sky" with Dotty Foil Tape and as a finishing touch I scattered a few Snowflake Brads so they looked like they were falling down the front of the card.

If it's snowing where you live, I hope you are as happy and cosy as this cute Snow Couple!

would seriously prefer to have
ALL her snow on holiday cards!

Ornamental Merry Christmas

Did you see the big announcement earlier this week? Eyelet Outlet is having a sale - and today is the last day. You better hurry if you want to take advantage of the 20% off on any purchase of $20 or more. It's easy to do. Just go to the Eyelet Outlet online store and add $20 or more to your cart. Be sure to add the code - decsale - so you'll get the 20% off discount.

There are so many items to love at Eyelet Outlet. I'm sure you'll find enough to get the discount with no problem.

Here's a little inspiration. Can you tell how many Eyelet Outlet items I used on this card? Is it two? How about three? Okay I'll give you a hint - it's somewhere between 4 and 8.

Look closely!

I used 6 different Eyelet Outlet items on my card:

To create my oval sentiment, I adhered a piece of Merry Christmas Washi Tape to White cardstock and then punched it out with an oval punch.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Sparkle and Shine

***NOTE:  There's a sale at Eyelet Outlet Online Store through 12/7/19.  Use code decsale for 20% off on orders over $20.00.  It's time to take advantage of the sale and stock up on your favorite bling, washi, brads, eyelets, etc.***

* * *

Today's card is entitled "Sparkle and Shine".  If you have a friend or loved one who loves a little sparkle and shine then this birthday card is perfect.

The card features Eyelet Outlet's Glitter Star Washi tape, Jewel Bling Strips, and a White Paper Flower.  The Glitter Star Washi Tape can be used in many ways, however, in this example strips of the washi tape are laid one above the other to cover the entire card.  The sticky-backed Jewel Bling Strips are placed at the seams of the washi tape and the White Paper Flower is in four layers accented with individual jewel bling pieces cut from the strip of bling.

The picture above doesn't fully show the beauty of the washi as it also has a fine glitter that provides the sparkle (see below).  The color combination reminds me of an aurora borealis sky (another card idea) and is complimented so nicely by the bling strips.

The card goes together quickly, however, there's two tips to consider:
* because of the micro glitter on the washi surface, a 'dab' of glue on the beginning and ending of the bling strips is required; and
* use a ruler to lay down a straight line of jewel bling strips.

The Eyelet Outlet materials used include:
Glitter Star Washi Tape
Jewel Bling Strips
White Paper Flower
