Happy Hello Wreath

Hi EO fans! Everyone loves a wreath and they are so great on cards no matter how they are made. Today I have a wreath made of dove tailed washi tapes hung on some pink and white baker's twine.

I made this by cutting washi strips from four rolls of tape. Each strip started approximately 1 1/2" long and I cut three strips of each pattern. Then I cut a length of twine and folded each washi tape over the twine so that they became flags with a flat bottom. Once placed on the twine, I used my scissor to cut them approximately the same length with a straight bottom. Then I trimmed each end into a dovetail. I formed the flags into a circle on a 5 1/2" card base. I glued each flag in place with a dot of glue. I made a twine bow with four loops and glued it to hide where the twine ends came together at the top. To decorate my wreath, I used Snowflake Bling in green and red and used Pearl Bling in the corners of the card and one large one on top of the bow. The final step was to cut the Hello word from a die in gold foil and yellow cardstock. I shifted the two words slightly with the yellow on the back and glued them together. Then I glued the finished word across the wreath.

Take it slow and just breathe!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing one more clean and simple card created with the quarantine-inspired brads that are new in the store which I paired with some pretty washi tape and enamel dots. This is another card in my series to pay tribute to our frontline healthcare workers. This sentiment, too, is true and literal. People all over the world have been through so much over the past year and we all need to be reminded to take it slow, one day at a time.

I created a standard A2 size top-folding card base from white cardstock along with front and inside layering panels from dark teal cardstock, and rounded the top right and lower left corners of all. The computer-generated front and inside sentiments were printed on white cardstock and trimmed, and the corners rounded. I applied two strips of Sky Washi Tape horizontally across the lower portion of the front panel and added a strip of Silver Dots Skinny Washi Tape on the seam of the two Sky strips. I added a Mask Brad just to the left of the sentiment and several White Enamel Dots to the background, then layered the panel on dark teal cardstock.

I embellished the right side of the inside panel with strips of the Sky Washi Tape and Silver Dots Skinny Washi Tape, adhered the panel to the teal cardstock layer and adhered it to the inside of the card base.
Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Leave A Little Sparkle

Good Thursday morning, crafters!  Today I've got a card for you with lots of sparkle!  For this shaker card I used a dress from the Cricut image. Using the slice tool, I created the cut out.  I filled my shaker window with beautiful pink and white Eyelet Outlet sequins

I also embellished my card with clear swirl bling and a few pink and clear stick on jeweled gems.  Our purse and shoes brads coordinated perfectly with my pink dress, too!

Thanks for stopping in and be sure to leave a little sparkle wherever you go today!

Seashore Garden...

...is the name of this beautiful tape from Eyelet Outlet and the only thing I (Lauren) love more than the name is the tape itself!

The Seashore Garden Tape is interesting for its style as well as its look; instead of being a continuous long repeat, the design is actually six different boxes, in which there is a coordinating scene that has fish, sea creatures, shells, coral and flowers. So my first question was, "Do I use this in long strips, or do I cut it down and use the individual boxes?" but pretty quickly I realized the answer was: BOTH! For my first card, I made a note-quite-A2 sized background by lining up three strips of this inch-wide tape, which I matted on a panel of Glitter Copper Tape, mulberry cardstock and a soft mottled lavender paper. I diecut and matted an oval, as well as a strip to hold my Lawn fawn stamped sentiment, "I *sea* it's your birthday". I filled the oval with some trout from the Trout and Bass Brads and accessorized with Shell Corner Brads as well as starfish and sand dollars from the Sea Shore Brad Set

For my second card, I applied a long strip of Seashore Garden Tape to plain white cardstock, then trimmed it down into the six individual boxes that make up the entire design. I matted each one on a rich kraft cardstock, scattered some TroutShell CornerSea Shore and Shell Brads to a few of the squares and affixed them to a white A6 card with a torn bit of the leftover lavender paper from the first card.

I love that both of these cards use ALL the same ingredients... but each is quite unique! I'm anxious to try this two-fer method on some of our other Eyelet Outlet Washi Tapes.

I'm Sticking With You!

It seems like it's a lot easier to be down occasionally over this past year than it was before. I know I have experienced some down moments myself. If I become aware that someone is having a rough time, I like to send them an encouragement card with a note of support. That's what today's card does.

This is a little bit of a word play since I've used "sticky" washi tape with this sentiment. I made the embellishment piece as a print-then-cut from Cricut Design Space. I created it by combining the tape dispensor image with my own created text sentiment. More and more I am going to my computer to make the perfect sentiment for my cards. And why not? You can say anything you want whether you do it in Word, Cricut Design Space or other program.

I used a lot of very cheery washi tapes for this card. I also used two stitched flower brads on the sentiment.

A literal and true sentiment!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing another clean and simple card created with quarantine-inspired brads that are new in the store along with some wide washi tape and bling to make it all girly! This is another card in my series to pay tribute to our frontline healthcare workers. And yes, this sentiment is literal and true - "crap" does happen but we always seem to get through it! ;)

I created a standard A2 size top-folding card base from black cardstock. The sentiment is from a digital stamp set so I printed it on white cardstock and trimmed the panel so the sentiment was in the lower right corner. I applied a strip of Wide Music Washi Tape horizontally across the panel and then added a piece of White Pearl Bling Strip at the top and bottom of the washi tape. I added two Toilet Paper Brads to the left of the sentiment and then adhered the panel to the card base. I finished the card front with several individual pearls from the bling strip.
I embellished the inside panel with a half-strip of the Wide Music Washi Tape and a narrow strip of black cardstock, and adhered the panel to the inside of the card base.

Birthday Wishes

I've got a couple of birthday card variations for you today. First up is one featuring a mix of some of the beautiful sequins available at Eyelet Outlet.  We have them in lots of colors and shapes and they are perfect for shaker cards.

I put a strip of gold glitter washi tape down on my lower mat for the candle flame on these. When I did that I had the idea of using some of our pretty striped washi for the candles on a second version of this card.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy the day with those you love!

"Plant a Garden...

...Feed a Bunny!" is yet another sentiment that I  (Lauren) saw on a t-shirt, and immediately had an entire card idea, featuring my Eyelet Outlet Rabbits and some other garden-related brads. Since it was just before Valentine's Day, and I had heart-y cards that made more sense, I sketched it on a piece of scrap paper and set it aside. I'll show you that sketch in a minute, but first, let's see the card:

Generally, when I sketch an idea, it's just visual notes of things I want to remember; often the card I wind up making doesn't look much like the original sketch, but this time it really did!

My diecut circles are cut from a piece of watercolor paper on which I had painted green grass and blue sky and then... for some reason... abandoned. I adhered a piece of picket fence diecut to the largest (2") circle and added the Rabbit Brads and a Heart. The upper of my two 1.5" circles holds a Sun and Cloud Brad as well as a rainbow from the Unicorn and Rainbow set; the lower has a Gnome Brad (they're on sale!); a trowel from the Garden Tools set and a Mini Butterfly, which I hadn't realized was discontinued, but you could swap a full-sized Butterfly, or a Mini Bee. The two 1" circles feature a Sunflower and Mini Ladybug; and the carrot and broccoli from the Vegetable Brad Set (which is also on sale) respectively.

With a change of sentiment, this design could easily translate into an Easter card, a fun birthday greeting for a gardener, or maybe even an anniversary card? That's the great thing about creativity, when you plant an idea, you never know what you might harvest later!

Lets pay tribute to our frontline healthcare workers!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing a super clean and simple card to pay tribute to our frontline healthcare workers. All of the Eyelet Outlet designers are creating with the new quarantine brads in the store and are coming up with some great designs so be sure to check them out! I created several CAS designs that would be easy to reproduce that I'll be sharing over the next several weeks, so let me tell you about this first one!

I created a standard A2 size top-folding card base from black cardstock. The front sentiment is computer-generated so I printed it on white cardstock and trimmed the panel so that the sentiment was in the bottom right-hand corner. I embellished the panel with two strips of silver Glitter Skinny Washi Tape set a tad bit apart and a narrow strip of black cardstock adhered between them slightly offset to the right. Using a Hero Arts stamp set, I stamped the face (which kind of reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in her younger days) just above the sentiment and added a Mask Brad. I randomly placed three Black Enamel Dots on the background and adhered the panel to the front of the card base. I stamped 'You are fabulous' from the same stamp set on the inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time with another quarantine-inspired card!

Wag-O-Meter

I really had fun with this little thank-you card using some of Eyelet Outlet's dog themed products!

The "Wag-O-Meter" image is from Cricut's Paper Pups image set. I used the slice tool to take off the part of the image and then used curved text and print-then-cut tools to create the numbers.

I embellished this card with one of the Eyelet Outlet puppy brads, an enamel arrow, paw print brads, wood grain washi tape, paw print washi tape, and skinny red washi tape.

Check out the Eyelet Outlet online store for more dog-related brads and washi tapes and check back often, because you never know when even more great dogthemed products will be released!  😉

Hogs and Kisses

Valentine's Day is Sunday, but there's still time to make a funny, punny card, especially if you have some Eyelet Outlet Pig and Sheep Brads!

I (Lauren) made a fast background with Tiny Heart Tape and then chose cardstock colors to coordinate. I made my "Hogs and Kisses" sentiment using chunky foam alphabet stickers and added two adorable Pig Brads to the letter O. Finally, I scattered a few Heart Brads and I was done! Super-fast, super-fun and super-cute, right?!

cannot resist the combination
of brads and puns!

Hello?

Ever since I got the new Eyelet Outlet Toilet Paper and Tissue Brad set, I have been humming this old Lionel Richie tune to myself. I finally turned it into a card for you today.

As usual, EO has the perfect brads for this card including the Music Note Brads. The notes work so well on many cards. I'm constantly use them!

The window flap on this is easy to make yourself. You do this by aligning your top die cut plate to end on the die where you want the cut to stop. There's no pressure on the die once it is rolled to that area and the cut ends. If you've not heard of this before it's called partial die cutting. There are many videos you can find on YouTube showing this if you search for that term.

I hope you have a great Super Bowl Sunday!

A 'get well' fun fold!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing a get well fun fold card guaranteed to make a sick friend or family member feel better! This triple fold card has a belly band and features some of the new quarantine brads in the store, along with enamel dots which are some of my personal favs!

I created the card base from brown cardstock and embellished the front panel and side flaps with coordinating patterned papers. I created a die cut element on which I stamped the 'get well' sentiment and affixed a Kleenex Brad and Mask and Soap Brads, and added several White Enamel DotsI embellished the corners with punched hearts and slightly larger enamel dots. I embellished the inside panel with cardstock strips and punched hearts, stamped the sentiment, and adhered the panel to the inside of the card base.

Happy Birthday To You

By now we've all learned the CDC's recommendation to ensure proper hand washing,.  We should wash for as long as it takes to sing "Happy Birthday" twice.  So if you can't be with your special someone on their birthday, you can at least let them know you'll be thinking of them as you wash your hands!

This stair-step fold card was created with several great Eyelet Outlet products including our brand new soap brad from the Mask, Hand Sanitizer & Soap Brad Set.   I've also used the faucet from the Pipe Brad  set, the Music Note Brad, as well as some tear drop bling in blue and clear.

Thanks for stopping in today.  Be well and enjoy the day!

Roll With it

I (Lauren) suspect that one of the things we'll always remember about the year 2020 is the Great Toilet Paper Crisis! Luckily we now have Eyelet Outlet TP and Tissue Brads to commemorate this event and to perpetrate some fairly diabolical puns, like these:

My first pun idea involved the TP, so I used the labelmaker to say, "just roll with it" and affixed the text and the brad to a faux polaroid cut from some older patterned paper. For some reason the idea of fluffy white clouds popped into my head, so my background and diecuts are clouds.

I suspect I will use the Tissue Brads most in the context of get well cards, but for this first time out, I wanted something that sort of went with the encouragement theme of the first card; so I went with, "it will blow over".

Stay tuned to the Eyelet Outlet Blog for the next few weeks, I know all of the designers will have their own unique ideas on how to use these fun brads!

can never resist a pun!
