You're An All-Star!

This high top shoe from Cricut's Suburbia image set has made me smile from the first time I saw it, years ago, but what really ELEVATED it was adding Eyelet Outlet eyelets to it!  I also added blue enamel stars to this card, in the sentiment as well as on the shoe's patch.

I used both dark and faded blue jean patterned paper to form a cuff and then I had some fun with three different Eyelet Outlet washi tapes to create a border for my card.  Strips of red and white washi tape are accentuated by skinny red as well as skinny black and white washi tape.

Glad you stopped in today!  Stay healthy, happy, and keep crafting!

Wrappin' Up Christmas in July

We've neared the end of July and so it's time to wrap up Christmas in July.  What better way to do that with some fancy tags perfect for your wrapped gifts!  Actually, these little shaker tags could also serve as ornaments.

First up I've used Santa and Mrs. Clause brads next to our beautiful sleigh brad on the front of this shaker tag.  Behind the acetate window of this tag, and all of the tags I'm bringing you today, you'll see Eyelet Outlet's sparkling snow sequins. I'm seriously hooked on them!  The frame I used for this tag is from Cricut's Elegant Edges image set.

Next up, I've used the same frame and background but for this one I used Eyelet Outlet's polar bear and cub brads.  The frame I used for these tags has a wide enough edge that the brads could be applied to the outside of the tag so that they didn't interfere with the snow sequins shaking behind them.

This round tag is from Cricut's Mini Monograms image set.  On this one I added one of our deer brads.  Here I've used the buck from the set, but there's also a doe.  To the top I added some greenery cut with my Cricut and an Eyelet Outlet pine cone brad.

Now all I have to do is decide whether I'll sign the backs of these and add them to gifts or hang them on my tree as ornaments!

Thanks for being with us today!  Stay safe and healthy friends and enjoy the day with those you love!

It's Time to SHELL-abrate!

Christmas in July is winding down, but there's still time for a few more holiday cards with just a little touch of the beach!

I made a loose wreath of diecut foliage to fit my 5" square card and decorated it with Shell Corner Brads and Shell Brads, then added a couple of handsome Nutcracker Brads to flank my computer generated sentiment. I scattered a few small blue Pearl Bling around for extra interest.

For my second card I used the foliage to create more of a spray shape on which to scatter more Shell and Shell Corner Brads and this time I threw in a few Snowflake Brads too.

Definitely not the most traditional cards I've ever made, but I think I know a few beach-lovers who'll be pretty happy to see these in December.

A new designer!

We are pleased to announce that
Designer Leslie Turner is joining the
Eyelet Outlet Design Team.

My name is Leslie. My hubby and I have four grown children, two grandsons (a third grandson on the way) and three granddaughters, scattered around the US. We live in beautiful Colorado. I began scrapbooking about 45 years ago - so long ago that all the fun papers and embellishments we use today hadn't even been thought of. I'm a crafting junkie and really enjoy creating all things paper - handmade cards, 3-D projects, mini albums, gift bags, paper shoes and paper purses. Come visit me at my blog  Love To Scrap 2! Looking forward to designing for Eyelet Outlet!

Once she is up and creating, you will be inspired by her creations every Saturday on the

Holiday Wreath

It's still Christmas in July here at the Eyelet Outlet and today's card entitled "Holiday Wreath" brings a traditional flair.

The oversized wreath adorns the door of this beautiful brick building.  Eyelet Outlet Brick Washi Tape is used to create the building and the door trim is scored in three places to emulate actual door trim.

The wreath is constructed with an Impression Obsession Wreath and Pine Branch pieces as the base.  From there the Eyelet Outlet Holly Brads, Cardinal Brads, Deer Brads are added to fill out the wreath.  Additionally, single Red Bing from Bling Strips are added to the holly for interest.  An Eyelet Outlet Black Pearl serves as the door handle and a red ribbon bow are added to complete the wreath.

There's plenty of time to prepare your holiday cards and this card is simple to create.  Start with a circle, add some pine boughs, and let the Eyelet Outlet Brads, Washi, and Bling do the rest of the work!  Give it a try!  Head on over to the Eyelet Outlet site and check the Holiday Brads, Washi, and Bling and find what items you can put on your wreath!

Grilling and Shish Kebob Fun!

The weather for most of the country has been hot! I secretly love these hot days because I can ask my hubby to do some outdoor cooking and use the heat as an excuse to get out of making the main course!

Eyelet Outlet has released a new brad set today. It's BBQ Brads - Aprons & Grills. There are three different colors of grills and aprons in blue, red and orange. I love that they thought to make an apron orange. It fits with a certain store most of us shop at and coordinates so great with our many tool brads.

My husband loves to spear foods to make shish kebobs and he always kids my son and I that we better like them because they can be used as a weapon! We ALWAYS like his shish kebobs! Ha, ha, ha! When I saw this in the Cricut library, I had to make it! I cut this from red, black and metallic vinyls. I also used the Enamel Dots in Black Matte and two of the Heart Shaped Enamel Dots. I love that there was one that was just the right size to put on the kebob!

Check them out at the store and order yourself at least one of these new sets. Masculine cards can be hard. Eyelet Outlet makes it easy with brads to fit anything your guy is into and you're sure to find some complementary washi tape too.

Sizzling Summer!

* BBQ Brads - Apron & Grill

Although you have seen a bunch of Christmas cards this July,
we are happy to announced a new BBQ Brads release!

Keep your summer smokin' with Eyelet Outlet!

Santa's Summer Fun

Online papercrafters seem to embrace the "Christmas in July" phenomenon a little more each year, and I (Lauren) am all for it. Because let's face it, the job of making fifty or more holiday cards is just too big to do in December. Here are a few smaller cards I've created, using premade tags plus lots of adorable Eyelet Outlet goodies!

I designed this trio of cards to fit in 4-bar envelopes, so they measure just a hair under 3.5 x 5". I made the backgrounds and sentiment/accent borders by neatly lining up strips of Eyelet Outlet Washi Tape on plain white cardstock, then trimming them to size.

One of my best holiday "brad tricks" is to add majestic Antler Brads to sweet little cartoon reindeer stickers or stamps. They always look adorable and make me smile. I also added a small Snowflake Brad (the packs contain both small and large flakes) and two large ones to my background, which is made of Gingerbread Tape. The border band features one of my favorite Merry Christmas Tapes.

My second card has an Ornament Tape background that I especially love because it's printed so that you can line up the half ornaments at top and bottom to increase the illusion of looking at one solid sheet of patterned paper. I added a few gold Star Sequins to the star ornaments, as well as the background of the tag on which Santa and Mrs. Claus Brads are standing in front of the tag's tree. I added a Star Enamel to the top and made a band using scripty Merry Christmas Tape plus Ho Ho Ho Washi.

The last card features a tag with a super-cute Santa to whom I've given a Candy Cane Brad and a Holly Brad to decorate his hat. I added a few white Snowflake Sequins and mounted the tag on a background of fun Red Tree Tape whose pattern runs vertically. I used Christmas Tape with white, green and red lettering for a whimsical sentiment.

Cold Paws, Warm Hearts!

So it's the dog days of July here in the Carolinas and it's hot and humid! I always enjoy digging out holiday supplies right about now and get a little lost in winter images. Today's card is an example. You can't get much colder than the North Pole!

For this card I used an embossing folder for the background with stars and designs that remind me of wind and snow. I cut a smaller panel from matching metallic cardstock with a postage stamp shaped die. I cut a snow bank out of white and coated it with Diamond Dust. It catches the light so well and has a chunky look that makes you think of fresh snow. I cut out a red and white pole and put a sign on it that says North Pole. I used some Nuvo glitter drops on the sign that dries clear and shiny and looks like ice. Unfortunately you can't see that in the photo very well.

I used Eyelet Outlet's Polar Bear Brads as the centerpiece of this card. I used Gold Glitter Tape and put my die cut and stamped sentiment heart on it. I used the Hearts Brad Set in red and white and used another large white heart brad on my seam tape bow. I cut some stars out of cardstock with the gold glitter tape attached. I could have saved time and used Gold Enamel Dots but I don't have any at the moment. I added some White Glitter Enamel Dots for some additional snow imagery.

Ready Set Snow

NOTE:  The six-card series is temporarily paused to create the Christmas in July cards and will continue in August 7th.

Today's card entitled "Ready Set Snow" is part of the Eyelet Outlet Christmas in July cards.

When I think of the holidays, I definitely remember the snow globes we had as kids and how fun they were.  This card uses a stamp set by Lawn Fawn that's from a couple of years ago, however, it's used today with a new twist---Eyelet Outlet Brads, Bling, and Pearls!  That's right, think about pulling out older stamp sets and giving them a new look with the addition of brads, bling, and pearls.

In this case, the snow globe is adorned with the Eyelet Outlet Snow Couple Brads, Pine Tree BradsClear Jewel Bling, and Pearl Bling Strips.  The "Ready Set Snow" stamp and die set make this card easy to create and the brads and bling make it even faster!  Give it a try!

Eyelet Outlet Supplies used include:
Snow Couple Brads
Pine Tree Brads
Clear Jewel Multi Size Bling
Red Jewel Bling Strips
Pearl Bling Strips

Take a good look at your stamp and die collection and start creating with your Eyelet Outlet stash.  You'll be surprised at what you can create!  Also head on over to the Eyelet Outlet site to check out the Holiday-related Brads, Bling, and more!

Christmas Shaker Card

Temperatures are soaring here in Central Texas, so I'm staying cool in my craft room and thinking Christmas in July!

I'm late to the party on making shaker cards.  This is only my second one and I think I'm hooked!  They really are fun to make and look pretty impressive when they're finished.

I designed my card in Cricut Design Space by cutting the window with the slicing tool.  The snowy scene is from Cricut's "Merry & Bright" image set.  I used print then cut to do the scene.  I added Eyelet Outlet snowflake sequins to the opening and I love how they shake in the window.  I also added an Eyelet Outlet pine tree brad outside the window.  I actually had a hard time deciding which holiday brad to put in that spot, because the snowman, holly, and Santa brads all looked great, too!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Stay cool and crafty!

Inspired by Real Life

Once again my card inspiration is taken from a clever t-shirt, that I (Lauren) saw, with this sentiment on it. Of course my first thought was, "HEY! I have Eyelet Outlet Llama Brads, plus Llama Tape and even some Caution Tape!" so I figured I could probably whip something up. Like this, maybe?

I formatted the text in a fun free font called Chicken Pie Height and added a double pointed clip art arrow. I printed it on an Inkjet Clear Label and affixed it to some soft green graph paper, then set my handsome Llama Brad just above the arrow. (BTW, I've saved this little bit of word art as a jpg in case you'd like to make your own "llama'stay" card. You can right click and save the image below; it will also be on our Freebies Page!)

I made a split background by neatly lining up Llama Tape on the top half of my card panel and Purple Checked Tape on the bottom. I added a trimmed down strip of Caution Tape on the diagonal for maximum impact. Then attached the sentiment panel on top. And that's about it!

Just a reminder that whatever funny custom sentiment you can dream up, I'm pretty sure that Eyelet Outlet has a brad style to help you make it into a beautiful, personalized card! ♥

Merry Christmas Lantern

It's July and of course that gets me thinking of Christmas in July. I wanted to use the uber cute Penguin Brads and Polar Bear Brads and this seemed like a great time to pull them out even if it is 95 degrees outside right now!

I made the background using the Santa Washi Tape in strips on top of a white card base. I had a snowflake embossed vellum rectangle in my stash that I had left over from a different project and I think it's great on top of the Santa background. I die cut the lantern and glued it to the velum. The lantern was the perfect size for one of the penguins and bears. These are so cute together in this little scene!

I used my Cricut to cut the banner but I lined the white cardstock with both the Silver Star Foil Washi and the Glitter Gold Washi before I cut it. I have not done this before but it worked great. You can do the same thing with any steel dies too. I love that I can get a bit of glitter and shine without cutting into an expensive glitter or foiled cardstock. Once cut, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder.

To finish it, I layered two of our Red Paper Flowers together and put White Glitter Enamel Dots in the center to create a pointsettia look. I also used Silver Glitter Enamel Dots on the banner.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy a little Christmas this July!

HERO

Today's card entitled "HERO" features Eyelet Outlet brads and is the third card of a six-card series highlighting words we have come to know during this historic time.  HERO?  Don't we all know that word already?

Yes, however, what we have come to know very quickly is a new definition for the word HERO.  No longer is this word reserved for the person saving the life of another drowning or the firefighter pulling persons from a building on fire.  It is now a much broader definition and includes:  farmers who continued getting food to market during lockdown, front-line medical personnel going far beyond their normal responsibilities, the grocery worker accepting the risk by coming to work so we can purchase food, the sanitation workers also working through the lockdown.  Let's not forget teachers and so many others whose work changed dramatically in a quick fashion and benefitted so many.  The Maya Angelou quote says it so eloquently.

The Eyelet Outlet brads displayed throughout the quote remind us of some of the heros we have today.  The word 'hero' has a line of clear jewel strips on the left-hand side of the letter.  First I added red-line tape on the left-hand side of the letter, added the Eyelet Outlet Jewel Strip, then dipped the letter in extra fine silver glitter to fill in the gaps on the tape that the jewel strip did not fill.  The effect is so beautiful....give it a try!

Head on over to the Eyelet Outlet site and check out all the Brads, Washi, Bling, and more and think about making a thank you card for the hero(s) in your life!
