I think the Tie Brads at Eyelet Outlet are as perfect a choice as you can get for making a Father's Day card. And, although Father's Day isn't 'til next month, now is the time to think about your card making or hand crafted gifts.
I made a card and a gift card holder any Dad would love. And they came together rather easily. Gotta love that!
The card was made using a cut file from the Silhouette store. It was a "flip-flap" card meaning there was an extra piece to it so it was a traditional card with the flip card front. I got rid of the extra flap, though, and just used the flip portion. Okay, so enough of all this flip-flapping.
I loved this sentiment, also from the Silhouette store, and thought it would be the perfect backdrop for the tie. I colored and sized it to match the tie brad and then print and cut it. The card was made using Marina Mist, Night of Navy and Real Red card stocks. To give the red a masculine touch, I used the Houndstooth embossing folder.
But the star of the show is definitely that tie. Check out how great this looks! I'd say this is a real "power tie"!
The gift card holder was also made using a cut file from the Silhouette store; actually I combined two separate files to make it.
I traced around the tie and scanned that outline into my Silhouette. I offset it a bit to create my opening in which my ties sit and aligned three across the front. I used the same card stock colors and layering as the card. I also embossed with the same folder.
Inside, a sentiment I think most Dad's can relate to. The slot is there for the gift card...just tuck it in and let Dad pick his own gift. I bet it won't be a tie.
Thank you for joining me today. See you next Saturday!
