Design Team Monday with Susan

Hello Eyelet Outlet friends. It seems the "Card in a Box" craze has been all over the crafty blogs, Facebook groups, and Pinterest lately, so I decided to try my hand at making a couple of them this week!  The first one is for my best friend whose birthday is in a few weeks.

e

My friend and I each have cats and as any cat owner knows, there is nothing cats like better than playing in an empty box, so my "Card in a Box" didn't seem complete without cats wishing for the box! It just so happens that my friend's cats look exactly like the three Eyelet Outlet Kitty Brads, too!

The new paper flowers filled my box with cheer and the jeweled brad centers added the perfect pizzazz! The green leaf brads, bumble bee brad, butterfly brad, mini flowers, and mini lady bug added fun finishing touches to my first ever "Card in a Box!"

My next "Card in a Box" inspiration comes with a word of advise - the next time someone asks you to help them move, stay home and make them a card like this one instead! You will have a LOT more fun and they will still love you when they receive it!

I filled my "moving box" with pots and pans and other kitchen equipment from the "From My Kitchen" Cricut cartridge. On the back of the box I made a pocket to hold a gift card to a restaurant.

The life-like fork and spoon, pots and pans, measuring cup, and cookie sheet brad found in the "Food, Drink, & Cooking" category at Eyeletoutlet.com were the perfect embellishments for my card!

Thanks for stopping by Eyelet Outlet fans!

If you'd like a great tutorial on how to make the card base for a "Card in a Box," I recommend the Serene Stamper's video.

It's easy to follow and they are lots of fun to make!

Have a great day!

Design Team Wednesday with Heather

Good morning! Heather here from Houses Built of Cards to share with you! I had a blissful afternoon of free time to play, and the inspiration to go with it - and this is what I ended up making:

For this card, I pulled out my Mini Stitched Flower brads, and Stitched flower brads - I loved how perfectly they matched my pattern paper from Simple Stories Vintage Bliss paper pad. I stamped my Hero Arts stamp silhoutte on an oval cut with my Lil' Inkers Designs Stitched Oval die. The banner was cut with Simon Says Stamp tilted banner dies, and my sentiment is from Winnie and Walter's "The Big, the Bold, and the Happy" stamp set.

Next up, I went with a more masculine and simple design:

For this one I used the cameras from the Travel Brads set. The woodgrain background paper is from the same paper pad as above, and the little photos I trimmed from some Carta Bella pattern paper from their Wildflowers 6x6 paper pad. This card made me think of my hubby - he likes nothing better than getting out in the mountains and woods and hiking - and these beautiful pictures reminded me of some of the places he has gone.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you are having a wonderful week!

Design Team Wednesday with Susie

Welcome Eyelet Outlet Fans!
Susie here to share a few cards with you.  Let's start February off with some bright colors! I am loving the new brads for 2014.  How do you like my row of Frog Set Brads?  I just love the combination of the frogs and the lily pad.  They are very happy frogs...as you can see.  Can you spot that I used some Green Pearl Brads to attach my tags?  Gotta love those beauties too!

For my next card I used Music Note Brads and the Binder Clip Brads for the focal point of this little note card. I am going to have to get some more of those binder clip brads because I can see I will need quite a few more for all the projects in my head!

Be sure to stay tuned here at the blog. We always have something fun to show you! If you have a chance, I would love for you to visit me at The Dies Have It.
