TOUCAN Do It!

Late last year I decided it was time for me to really buckle down and get more fit.  I started swimming at the YMCA 3 times a week and making healthier choices in my diet.  So far I've lot 25 pounds!  Someone I love very much was inspired by my progress, so I made her this card with the Toucan in Eyelet Outlet's new Tropical Birds set.

She loved it and I hope you do, too!  Happy Thursday, crafters!

Wrapping Up the Alphabet

It's the fourth and final section of my (Lauren'sAlphabetical Brad Minibook, comprising the letters Q through Z,  and featuring lots more awesome Eyelet Outlet Brads.

Throughout the project, in order to have enough brads to cover the entire alphabet, I've occasionally gotten creative with my names, and sometimes doubled up on letters. For example, the first card in this section covers both Q and R, with "Quacker" represented by our Duck Brads; for "Queen" I've got a Tiara from the Crown and Tiara set; Thread Brad and a Scissor Brad stand in for "Quilting"; the Rainbow is from the Unicorn and Rainbow set; the ring is from our Wedding Brads; and the Rooster Brad speaks for himself.

For the letter S we have: the Sun from Sun and Cloud Brads; Colorful Sunglass Brads, a Sloth from the Sloth and Koala set; a pair of handsome Scarecrows and a Strawberry Brad, which, alas, is now out of print.

The letter T has some good ones: I don't feel like I use our Tractor Brads enough, so it was fun to work one in; same deal for the Typewriter that's in our Typewriter and Hand set; a Tee Shirt from the Jeans and Tee Shirt set; the "Toast" is actually the champagne glasses from our Wedding Brads; and finally some Toilet Paper from the new Toilet Paper and Tissue Brads.

U and V have teamed up together, with: "Utensils" which are technically called Silverware Brads; the umbrella is actually a Beach Umbrella; but the Unicorn Brad is pretty straightforward. Two Heart Brads are masquerading as "Valentines"; the Vacuum Brad is self explanatory; and the "Valise" is from our Travel Brads set.

Surprisingly there are LOTS of great W brads, including: "Words" which are from the Superhero Sayings Brads; a Water Bottle from the Sneaker and Water Bottle BradsWitch Hats and Witch Legs are each called that, respectively; Waffles come from the Chicken and Waffles set; and the Water Lily is from the Frog Set.

The last card is a triple play, with X, Y and Z all sneaking in! The "X-ray" is a Skull Brad; the "Xmas Tree" is a Pine Tree Brad; the "Yolk" hails from the Bacon, Egg and Toast set; a Yoga Cats always make me smile and they're on sale; Zebra is one third of the Lion, Tiger, Zebra Set and "Zinfandel" is my take on our Wine Brads.

And finally, one last shot of all the ATC-sized pages on their book ring, with the entire alphabet complete:

Sending Well Wishes by Janet

Hi EO fans! Today I'm featuring two of our new sets for 2021. They are the Feline and the Colored Daisy Sets. There are two cats in different poses. The daisies come in two style and three colors: hot pink, yellow and coral. What I love is that these are perfect to pose in many scenes. Case in point, they work perfectly in this grassy scene.

The card style I used today is a shadow box slimline card. The thing I have grown to love about slimline cards is that there is much more real estate to build a scene with. A few simple cuts in a shadowbox card suddenly creates all kinds of opportunities to tell a story.

Below is a little closer look. Notice how the cats are perfectly proportioned to the bird house and fence. Look for these kinds of opportunities in your stash to add our brads to. It's a nice way to add color, texture and definitely more interest than you can get with stamps or die cuts.

An amazing thank you!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here, sharing a pretty CAS thank you card featuring some of the new brads that hit the store several days ago along with some enamel dots! This is a super simple design that could easily be mass produced to create a set to give as a gift!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding landscape card base and a layering panel from white cardstock and rounded the bottom right corner. I stamped flower stems and leaves in the bottom right quadrant of the layering panel and stamped the sentiment just to the left of the stems and leaves. I added five Colored Daisy Brads and adhered the panel to the card base. The final touch was adding several White Enamel Dots to complete the front panel for a little interest.

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of pink striped paper, stamped the sentiment and adhered the panel directly to the inside of the card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

A TOUCAN of Thanks!

There's new brads in the Eyelet Outlet store!  Today I'm bringing you a card with the beautiful Toucan Brad from the Tropical Bird set.  I also used the Eyelet Outlet Palm Tree Brad and Stitched Flower Brad.

For the sky, I used strips of our Cloud patterned washi tape.  And I thought this particular flower washi looked so pretty and tropical that I added a strip of it as well.  The larger palm tree and the tropical leaf border are from the Cricut image library.

Stay tuned in coming days for more inspiration from the Eyelet Outlet Design Team and all the new brads!

Birds of a Feather

This week we're welcoming several new brad styles to the Eyelet Outlet family, including realistic FelinesColored Daisies, a super-cute Kennel Mix, colorful Reptile Brads and my (Lauren's) instant favorite: Tropical Birds, which contain two variations of Toucan and three vibrant Parrots!

I paired my beautiful birdies with chunky letter stickers and some gorgeous diecut tropical foliage. As usual, I was unable to resist a couple of diabolical puns, and I've made them into. jpgs images which you can right-click and save. They will also be archived on the freebies page.

I couldn't resist one more completely gratuitous shot of the bird brads staged with the foliage.

I hope you'll head over to the Eyelet Outlet Store and see all of the new brads; and stay tuned here on the EO Blog because our design team will be rolling out lots more great ideas for using them!

would like to have

Signs of Spring Are Here!

Hello everyone! I hope the weather where you are is finally showing evidence of spring's arrival. Here in Charlotte, NC spring is definitely in bloom and the warm sun is a welcome change. Today's card celebrates the traditional signs of spring.

I had a lot of fun using many brad sets that illustrate the poem. I also embellished with a strip of pink bling and a few stickers. This was super quick and fun to put together. In fact, the poem is absolutely ancient. It was a piece I've had in my stash for at least 10 years! The stickers are also old ones from Creative Memories. It's so fun when your old stuff can be made new with brads and bling from Eyelet Outlet!

The EO products used are shown below. For a complete list of supplies, visit my blog.

Let's get our Fishing Rules straight!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here, sharing a fun Father's Day card FULL of awesome brads and of course some washi tape! Yep, Father's Day will be here before we know it and we need to get our Fishing Rules straight beforehand, lol! ;)

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from shimmery black cardstock. I built a little beach scene using Sky Washi Tape-Wide and Water Washi Tape for the background. I printed the Fishing Rules sign on kraft cardstock, adhered it to the background, and embellished it with
Fishing Lure Brads, a Fishing Pole Brad, Trout and Bass Brads, a Wine Brad (don't laugh - I didn't have any beer brads and the wine bottle looked like it could pass for a beer bottle, lol!), a Seagull Brad and Shell Brads. I layered the background panel on kraft cardstock which gave it a nice contrast against the black card base.

I embellished the inside panel with strips of kraft and black cardstock, adhered a stamped and die cut sentiment, and layered it on kraft cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

"Happiness is...

...a cup of coffee and a good book". Or, as I (Lauren) have interpreted it in this wish-fulfilling card, happiness is a pot of coffee, a room full of books and a few close friends! I made this fun scene using Eyelet Outlet Book TapeBook Brads and Coffee Brads, and populated it with adorable characters from Waffle Flower Crafts' Books and Coffee stamp set.

I did all my stamping on watercolor paper and colored with Tombow Dualbrush Pens with Prismacolor Pencil shading. I was a little disappointed that Bear's glasses were just a tiny bit too big to work with our Eye Glass Brads; but I was able to add a Heart Brad to the cover of the bear's book, swap the large stack of books that the bird is sitting on for two colorful Book Brads, replace the potted cactus with a yellow lotus flower from the Frog Brad Set and add a Coffee Brad and Funky Bee to the foreground.

I made the "Library" by affixing strips of EO Book Tape to a panel of plain white cardstock and adding a strip of skinny tape under each to work as shelves. I made a table from Hardwood Floor Tape (it's out of stock now, but we still have some great Wood Tapes); assembled the entire thing, added the fun sentiment (framed with ancient nested dies) and matted the panel on Foil Copper Tape before adding it to the front of my white A6 card.

Of course, you could make a room setting for pretty much any character stamp you own, with just some Washi Tape as wallpaper (we have pretty much every style you could imagine!) and Eyelet Outlet Brad accessories; I hope you'll be inspired to create your own interiors!

is still the world's
sloooooooowest colorer...

Look for the Rainbows

Spring is definitely on it's way and right on schedule, the rain is here too. Lots of good things come with rain and rainbows are one of the nicest. We have a very fun Weather Washi tape which is perfect for this card. Our Cloud Brads and the Teardrop bling make this card work.

Moose in the Alpines at Christmastime!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here, sharing a fun Christmoose card with you today! Yep, I'm still (always?) in Christmas mode, lol! My favorite time of year! Although I have to admit that Spring is pretty darn awesome too, and we are enjoying some gorgeous Spring weather out here in Colorado! All right, so let me tell you about this fun card!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Linen along with a layering panel. I die cut and assembled the Alpines, added two Moose Brads and adhered them to the layering panel. I added a couple angled strips of Copper Skinny Washi Tape, adhered the panel to a piece of white craft foam and then adhered the piece to the card base. I added a stamped layered sentiment and several White Enamel Dots to complete the front. Pretty simple but effective!

I embellished the inside panel with a couple strips of the cardstock used to die cut the Alpines, stamped the sentiment and layered the panel on more of the same cardstock.

Thanks a TON

It's been a difficult month for my family as my husband has been quite ill, but in spite of all the problems, blessings have been poured out on us by those we love.  Friends, family, and dear neighbors have brought food, sent cards, called, prayed, and mowed our yard.  Today's make is inspired by our deep gratitude!

The scale is from the Cricut image library and the wonderful elephant brad is from Eyelet Outlet's Jungle Mix set.

How about a little throw back Thursday?  Here's another thank you card I made a few years ago which features the giraffe from the Jungle Mix set.

Thanks for stopping by today!
