Washi Tape Gift Cards and Chicken Stock Gifts!!

Two of my favorite things to do are crafting and cooking, so why not combine the two together?!?  I made some yummy chicken stock in my crockpot, then used the Eyelet Outlet Washi tape as labels.  I then used the same washi tape for the cute little card when I give some of the chicken stock away to friends and family.

Here is a video tutorial on how to made the labels for the containers, how to make the cards, and the chicken stock recipe!!

Both of these items, the container of homemade chicken broth and the card, could be given as a gift to someone for when they are sick, need a pick me up, or just to let them know you are thinking about them.  So if you are giving a gift you have to have a card to go with it!!

Without further ado here is my chicken stock recipe:

Crockpot Chicken Stock

Makes about 16 cups (6 quart crockpot)
Step 1 - Cook your chicken
Ingredients
1 whole chicken
1 onion rough chopped or a handfull of green onions (I used green onions from my garden)
1 whole head of garlic smashed
2- 3 Fresh Rosemary stems
2-3 Fresh Thyme Stems
1 lime - cut in half (or lemon)
Salt and pepper chicken

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in the slow cooker: Place onion, garlic, and lime in the bottom of the pot.  Add chicken breast up.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper.  Add fresh herbs on top.
  2. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Enjoy your yummy chicken for dinner!!!

Step 2 - Make the Stock
Ingredients
Bones from the chicken you just cooked
Veggies, Herbs, and lime from above
Carrots
Celery
Peppers
Eggplant
Squash
Greens
Other herbs (sage, parsley, etc)
Any other veggie you have

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in the slow cooker: Place all the bones, skin, small bits of chicken, tendons, neck, etc all in the pot.   Roughly chop the vegetables and herbs and scatter them around the chicken.
  2. Cover with water: Add enough water to cover the chicken bones.
  3. Cook for at least 8 hours: Set the slow cooker to "low" and cook for at least 8 hours or just overnight.  When you wake in the morning just turn it off to cool.
  4. Strain the stock: Set a strainer over a large bow l and pour entire stock through the strainer into the bowl.
  5. Store the stock: Divide the stock between several containers and label with washi tape. Cool completely, then cover and refrigerate for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months.

An EGG-cellent Adventure!

Hello, it's Lauren, hoping you had a lovely holiday yesterday, if you were clebrating, or just an especially nice Sunday! I'm pretty sure that there will be lots of blogs today with tips and tricks for using up leftover Easter eggs; but as far as I know, nobody is answering the equally important question of what to do with leftover Colored Egg Brads... so luckily, I'm here for you! :) I'm definitely ready for Spring this year, so my first thought was: FLOWERS!

I had fun doodling these particular blooms with my watercolors, then adding a bit of marker and pen on top; but you could stamp or stencil your flowers, or even start with a flowery patterned paper. Either way, your Eyelet Outlet Colored Egg Brads and Multi-sized Enamel Dots make awesome centers. One of my favorite things here, though, was the last minute funky photo corners I made using strips of Stitched Washi Tape... *HOW* had I never thought of that before??

Another great shortcut to instant funky flowers is to use diecuts or punches; because we all have plenty of those, am I right? I stacked up blossoms from several different dies, added Colored Egg Brads and Enamel Dots and finished off with some Flowers with Cute Bug Washi Tape plus a few Pearl Bling Strips. I can't wait till my garden has as much color as this!

But for right now I'll settle for wishing you a very happy day and a very happy Springtime! ♥

Hello, I'm Lauren and my little corner of the internet is called

Wishing You a Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Everyone! For those celebrating today, here is a little Easter greeting for you!
What could be cuter than a basket of bunnies?

I think the little Pastel Rabbit Brads are adorable - not only for Easter, but for cute Spring greetings too! You can find them in the Eyelet Outlet Store here. And of course they are sending Easter greetings using the Easter Bubble Brads (also great for upcoming Spring greetings!).

I also used Checked Washi Tape in Pink to ground the basket. I added it to my card panel before the dry embossing, and it blended in beautifully with the floral background.
 I'm looking forward to Spring!

Hello ladies! Here is Marina and I want to share with you my card with gorgeous Eyelet-Outlet products!
best wishes card @akonitt #card #eyeletoutlet #by_marina_gridasova #diycard
 details:

I use my Silhouette Cameo to cut circles on the panel. On the second layer I made an ombre effect and glue them together. On the right side of the card I added Silver glitter washi tape. If you remember my black layout there was a cut a branch from the panel - so here it is )))) This card is easy, but contrast colour palette makes it more intresting! Don't be affraid to use bright colours or unusual combinations )))))

"Best Friends" Layout

Hello again Eyelet Outlet fans. It's another Friday Layout with Rosandra

This week's inspiration goes out to our furry best friends. We lost one of our fur babies a couple months ago and since then our remaining fur baby has become SPOILED rotten. The main culprit... my youngest son.

In dedication of his love for her I did this layout.

  best_friend_layout

I'm currently challenging myself to use all of my paper stash, so for this particular project I had A LOT of patterns going on. I like to use doodling and my favorite Eyelet Outlet product... bling strips. It's my favorite item to break up multiple patterns layered together and give the eye a place to rest.
I absolutely love the personality of the puppy brads and there are several styles available on the website

Supplies:
Pearl bling strips
Square jewels
Jewel bling
Puppy brads
Bumpy bling

Thank you so much for stopping by and come back tomorrow for more inspiration from our design team.

Til next week... Happy Crafting.

Wine anyone?

Hi everyone and Happy Be-lated national drink wine day! On February 18th across the United States "National Drink Wine" day was celebrated did any of you know that? In honor of this day I created a card show casing the new Eyelet outlet cocktail brads

So cute! I'll drink to that!

Wine Eyelet outlet 1.JPG

The background and the banner were created by carefully lining up the Silver striped washi tape, which is shiny and adds movement to the card. I'll drink to that too!

Wine Eyelet outlet 2.JPG

To add a bit of accent to the banner I used the pearl strips in gray, these strips are so easy to use as they come in 5 long strips that are easily cut to a desired length that can easily fit to any project you are working on.
Oooh, I'll drink to that! and for just some added bling (one can never have to much bling) I used the jewel brad silver edge brads which are on sale right now at 50% off.
Now that is something to drink too.

Hoppy Easter!

Hello, all, it's Lauren here again. I just couldn't resist making one more Easter card featuring Eyelet Outlet's adorable Chocolate Bunny and Pastel Rabbit Brads:

This idea was pretty serendipitous: I just happened to have a roll of Rabbit Washi Tape sitting on my work table next to a few pieces of vintage sheet music I had used for a different project, when I noticed that the space between the treble and bass clefs was exactly the same size as the tape... clearly it was meant to frame some super-cute Easter goodness!

One of my favorite things about Eyelet Outlet is that the packets of animal brads always contain some critters that face right and some that face left... which means they can interact! I liked the idea that the bunnies on the tape and the bunny brads could talk to each other via Easter Bubble Brads, so I added a few of those. Since the shape was kind of long and narrow, I decided this should be a tall card, and matted the little scene with a few papers that would make those yummy Chocolate Bunny Brads stand out!

Wishing an especially Happy Easter to everyone who is celebrating!

New York Glitter

I love Washi Tape ... some might even say I have some Washi Tape issues (is having too many crafting supplies ever really an issue?).

For this set of cards, I paired the amazing Glitter Black Washi Tape (trust me, every single bit of the glitter stays on the tape ... 100% glitter sparkle with absolutely ZERO glitter mess) with the gorgeous New York City Washi.

Layering these Washi Tapes works well because the New York is transparent while the black glitter is opaque.  I added birthday sentiment and some black opalescent sequins to finish the design.

For this one I used the tape in stripes and added one of my favorite sentiments using this week's CAS(e) this Sketch.

Here's a closer shot of that awesome glittery sparkle.

Mixed Media Canvas

Salam every one,
I am sorry, I was off schedule due to medical issues, however everything is OK now

Let me share with you what I created using EO products

I have covered a canvas with  brown ink, let it dry and added clear Gesso. I fussy cut a picture from Graphic 45 paper collection. I added one of unwanted earring to the lady. To add some interest in the border, I added washi tape http://www.eyeletoutlet.com/washitape.html. I glued a tiny bottle, I added inside it flowers and cover the bottle with blings.
I die cut gears from Tim Holtz and centered them with beautful brads http://www.eyeletoutlet.com/10mm-pearl-brads-gold.html. I added circle foam under the gears to give some dimension. Another nice touch is to use some swirl bling, http://www.eyeletoutlet.com/swirl-bling-purple1.html. In the end I added some word stickers and mounted them with 3D foam tape.

I hope you like and see you soon
Salam :)

More Easter inspiration

Hello Eyelet Outlet friends! Shemaine back again to share another card with some of our fun products.

I love our paper flowers and bling. They are a match made in heaven.

I paired them with this super cute Easter Washi tape and an older Easter stamp in my stash. This card came together simply with three strips of washi, two of the paper flowers with bling and finished with a sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Easter Flip-It Shaker Card

Hello Eyelet Outlet fans!!
This week I went off my usual layout post path,
because I couldn't resist doing a cute card for Easter
with this cute pastel rabbit brad.
(He's also available in chocolate.)

Since this card is a flip-it style card I needed to hide the brad tabs on the other side.
So what did I do? Well use a paper flower and bling!!
I added some color wheel washi tape and oval egg bling for more interest.

Supplies

Come back next week and until then... happy crafting.
