Happy Sunday Eyelet Outlet Fans! I hope you've had a great weekend so far. For the US fans, you probably have given your stomach and your body a good workout over Thanksgiving and then decorating for Christmas and the holiday season. It was nice to take a break during all the hubub yesterday to reflect and make a card to remind me of the Reason For The Season.

The background of this card was created by placing Silver Glitter Washi Tape on the edges of an A2 card base. Then I placed the corrogated piece on top. Here's a upcycling tip I learned from Carol Duval when I was a wee one (LOL!). Use a liner from a light bulb box! Works perfectly and they tend to be either a nice white or natural color like this one. The city scene is made from two identical Heartfelt Creation die cuts that I cut and stacked to appear as if it were on a hill. I used a few pieces of foam tape for some of the cuts for added dimension as well. I nestled in two Palm Tree Brads and then started decorating the rest of the card.

Around the scroll (Heartfelt Creations), I placed the Snowflake Bling-1 1/2" Size and two of the Music Note Brads. To accent the scroll image, I cut single bling apart from Red Strip Jewel Bling. I'm always amazed at how a few Eyelet Outlet Products can take a card from good to great with just a little bit of effort!

Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy you Sunday and I'll see you again next week!

Make Gingerbread Memories!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing a fun Christmas card with a traditional gingerbread house theme featuring some of the newest brads in the store! These are so stinkin' cute I can't stand it!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from ivory cardstock along with red cardstock and kraft cardstock layers that I adhered together. I printed a digital gingerbread house image on ivory cardstock, cut it in half and trimmed it. I adhered the image to the layered background piece, added four Gingerbread Brads, and adhered the panel to the card base. I finished the front by adding several Ivory Enamel Dots and a stamped sentiment. Here's a close-up of those gingerbread couples holding hands! ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Santa's Ride?

Every year I make holiday cards for my brother that feature his hobby:  his motorcycle.  These cards are always fun and have a bit of humor.  Today's card entitled "Santa's Ride",  also does just that!  It's a close replica of my brother's card for this year and it poses the question:   "is the motorcycle Santa's new ride"?

The sign on the brick wall reads:

"In 2020, Santa is leaving the reindeer behind at the North Pole to keep them safe and healthy.  Is this his new vehicle to fly through the skies on Christmas Eve?"  It appears 2020 has brought change to all of our lives, including Santa Claus and the Reindeers!

The motorcycle is cut three times and glued together creating a sturdy focal point for the card.  The alleyway is created with Distress Inks while the brick building background is created using Eyelet Outlet Brick Washi TapeEyelet Outlet's Santa Suit Brads and Santa Hat Brads adorn the motorcycle while the Eyelet Outlet Grey Sticky Back Jewels mimic hardware attaching the sign to the building.

Have you made themed holiday cards?  If so, we'd love to see them on the Eyelet Outlet Fan Page on Facebook.  Also browse the Eyelet Outlet site for a vast array of brads, washi, bling and more!

Advent Calendar

My youngest granddaughter is the perfect age for an Advent calendar this year - big enough not to swallow little toys and yet little enough to still like Dollar Store trinkets, so when I saw this amazing Advent calendar file at My Scrap Chick I knew I had to have it!  A shout out to Tracy Rushton who designed it!  It's an engineering marvel in my opinion!  The file includes a PDF version in the event you don't have a die cut machine.

The most fun was decorating the faces of the 25 boxes using various images from the Cricut image library and many embellishments from Eyelet Outlet.

I'll do my best to spot all of them and link to them at the end of the page!

Wishing all of our Eyelet Outlet fans a Happy and safe Thanksgiving!

EZLaser Tags - Three Nature Inspired Christmas Tags

A few weeks ago, I showed you three nature inspired tags made from EZLaser Designs. The pack has six large tags sized at 5 1/8" x 3 1/8." These are the other three tags that I embellished. All supplies are linked at the end of this post.

These tags are really made to be used all by themselves with little to no embellishment but they really are amazing when you decorate them up. These tags each have two 0layers. The back layer is white and is the full tag shape. The black layer on top has the laser designs cut in it. To make these unique, I placed washi tape strategically behind the laser shapes on the white layer so that the washi shows through when the black layer is put on top. I came to call this "painting" with washi tape. It was fun and not very hard for the most part. There were a few small areas that were a little trickier to get placed right but honestly, it was worth the effort!

Do you love the sky background on that mountain scene? That is one strip of our Wide Sky Tape! Amazing right? I just love how that turned out on this tag.

After getting the main image completed, I further embellished with premade sentiment strips and lots of Eyelet Outlet brads and bling.

Clean and Simple Christmas Wishes

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing a super simple Christmas card with just cardstock, a stamp set, a die and a pack of gorgeous brads! This would be a great Christmas card to mass produce to send to all those on your list!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base along with smaller layering panels from kraft cardstock and red cardstock. I rounded the bottom right corner (which I love to do) and adhered the layers together. I die cut a pine branch, adhered it to the front panel, and added four Pinecone Brads. I adhered the panel to the card base, and the only thing left to do was stamp the sentiment in green ink. Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Today's card entitled, "JOY", is designed not only to bring a smile to your face during this holiday season, but can also be a card that uses up leftover supplies!

The JOY sentiment uses the Eyelet Outlet Gold Glitter Washi Tape and the Diamond Press JOY die.  Next is the pleasant discovery of leftover Christmas paper scraps:  flocked holly paper along with green embossed suede paper.  The last supply search is checking out the Eyelet Outlet holiday brads (listed below) I had available; there were only one of some and only a small quantity of others.

It is now time for the card assembly.  Some Brads are placed on the JOY sentiment while others lined up on either side of the sentiment.  The Red Glitter Washi Tape is cut in half and placed at the top and bottom of the middle green strip.

Take a moment to visit the Eyelet Outlet site and explore all of the brads, bling, and more and determine what items you can use on your JOY card!

Eyelet Outlet Supplies Used:

Gingerbread Brad, Snowman Couple Brad, Red Glitter Washi Tape, Nutcracker Brad, Santa Hat Brad, Holiday Light Brad, Pine Tree Brad, and Holly Brad.

A Trio of Couples

Nothing's cuter than a happy couple, especially if we're talking about a COUPLE of Eyelet Outlet Brads, dressed up for the holidays; like Santa and Mrs. ClausMr. and Mrs. G. Bread, or our sweet Snow Couple!

The other day I came across a set of tiny shaped tag dies I bought in January and realized I had not yet used them?! My first thought was that ATC's would be the perfect size, and that I should start with the Snow Couple. A background of blue paper with polka dots seemed like a tiny snowscape and I love this woodgrain cardstock for extra texture. I added a strip of Pink Checked Tape and solid pink Skinny Tape to represent the strong vertical line of the sketch.

Santa and Mrs. Claus are probably the most famous Christmas couple, and the heart of the North Pole. I rotated the sketch and added Heart Washi and Red Stripe Foil Tape this time.

The Gingerbread Brads are the newest in the EO line-up, but they're very sweet... in every sense! This time I flipped the sketch and paired them with Poinsettia Tape and Skinny Striped Washi.

ATC's are always fun to make and swap; OR you can build them into the focal point of a bigger tag or card. And there's definitely an Eyelet Outlet Brad to suit every taste!

Christmas Holly Tags

Hello Eyelet Outlet fans! It's getting closer to Thanksgiving and my mind has completely turned to getting things ready for Christmas. I'm in full swing of making cards and tags. To that end, I made these six tags over the weekend using a variety of EO products.

It all started with a new washi tape I noticed had arrived at the store. It had six different Christmas sentiments and I immediately thought I would make tags with it. And here is the result of that inspiration. This tape is wide as washi tape goes. It's a full 1 6/8" wide which turned out to be perfect for the mini tag templates I used from Kiwi Lane. You could use any tag pattern, dies, cut them with an electronic machine or even make them by hand. The average size of the finished tags are 1 7/8" wide by 3" tall. Perfect to pair with a bow on Christmas packages.

I often hear people ask what they can do with washi tape. Well, this is a perfect example of an out of the box use that takes advantage of the beautiful prints. To make them, I applied long strips of the washi tape on white cardstock. Then I trimmed the cardstock down the sides and top of the tape. I used my paper trimmer with a deckle blad to cut the bottom. Then I used double-sided adhesive to attach the washi pieces to the tags. After that, I had great fun decorating them with a variety of bling and brads.

Snowy Hillside Christmas Wishes

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing another fun Christmas card that would be super easy to mass produce! Even though I'm retired, I stay so busy I'm always trying to come up with easy designs that showcase these awesome Eyelet Outlet products!

I cut a standard A2 top-folding card base from white cardstock and a green cardstock layer. I tore white cardstock in three uneven strips to create snow banks and adhered them to the bottom of the green panel. I added four Holiday Tree Brads and stamped a sentiment in green ink in the bottom right corner. I applied two strips of Green Dots Washi Tape at the top of the green panel and adhered the panel to the card base. The final touch was adding Snowflake Bling. Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Tomorrow!!

Join us this Saturday (tomorrow) at 9:10 am pacific/12:10 eastern for inspiring projects
using our bling, decorative brads, washi tape, and paper flowers!

Pandemic

Today's card is a continuation of the covid card series started several months ago.  Cards 1-3 included "Social Distancing", "Zoom" and "Heros".  Card 4 of this series is entitled "Pandemic".  If you haven't heard the word 'pandemic' prior to 2020, then it is a near certainty you are now familiar with it.

This slimline card has a lot going on!  The card is 4x9 and fits into a #10 business envelop.  Other than the brads, the card is lacking in color and pattern---that was intentional.

First, the title in white letters is constructed by using four copies of the letter glued together to provide a thick, solid title.

Next, the Pandemic definition:  "Prevalent throughout an entire country, continent, or the whole world; epidemic over a large area".

Moving over to the the right side of the card are three mini-scenes summarizing the emotional toll this disease has on people.

  •  The Eyelet Outlet Monster Brads represent that this is a scary disease and the unknown can be quite challenging.
  •  The Eyelet Outlet Heart Brad shedding tears represent the heartbreak that family and friends experience as they are dealing with the sickness and loss of life.
  •  The Eyelet Outlet Deer Brad represents the loneliness and isolation that many feel as their 'normal' activities and visits with others are restricted.

The card sentiment at the bottom is something we now hear in everyday life:   Stay Safe, Be Well.

If any piece or part of this card provides inspiration to you, then please create a card and send it to someone who may be need a few words coming their way.   It can be reassuring, healing, or an acknowledgement they are not alone in this world.

Take a moment to go over to the Eyelet Outlet site and explore the vast array of brads.

Stay Safe.  Be Well.

Christmas Tree O Christmas Tree

Today I've brought out the washi tape to create this shimmering gift tag.  The tree is covered in Eyelet Outlet's very popular Glitter Star Washi tape, then some swirl bling brings even more shine.

I used the wood grain washi tape for the tree trunk and across the bottom I used silver glitter washi which I trimmed with my scissors to create the look of drifts of snow.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Seriously. No decaf.

I (Lauren) am a big fan of coffee in real life and of Eyelet Outlet Coffee Brads for making coffee-themed cards. Like this one:

I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink to stamp the super-fun Coffee Lady and snarky sentiment. I added a Heart Pearl to the coffee mug and a decorative border of Coffee Cups from the Coffee Brads set, paired with Donut Brads. I matted my corner-rounded panel on a background of Donut Tape and a mat of the darkest brown before adding the whole thing to a white A7 card.

Be sure to check out the Eyelet Outlet Online Store and visit the Idea Gallery for lots more inspiration!
