Thanks a Bunch!

Hi Everyone!
Now that all the snow is gone (for most of us, anyway),
I can't wait to get outside and start gardening!

Which is where I got my inspiration for my Project!

I attached the flower pot to the pillow box then added the quicklet flowers.
Then I added the garden tool brads to the bottom of the Pot.

I overlapped the flowers to make the pot look fuller.

Tanks a Lot

Hi there!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards; happy to be with you today.

It's still April; but in the blink of an eye, Memorial Day will be here.  Don't blink yet!  I don't want you to miss my post!

I decided to use the Mixed Tank Eyelets, available in Red, Blue and Silver.  They are deeply discounted right now, so be sure to get them while supplies last.

My original thought was to weave strips of red, white and blue card stock to make a patriotic patchwork pattern.  I tried and failed three times before it dawned on me if I simply cut squares of card stock and placed them in a pattern, I would achieve the same look as weaving...if I could have actually done the weaving properly, that is.

So, I cut 3/4" squares and attached them to a piece of grid paper to help keep the squares nice and straight. I just applied adhesive to the grid paper and attached my squares.  Once they were in place, I trimmed off the excess grid paper and then attached it to a slightly larger mat.  To give it a little more pizzazz, I embossed it with the Tiny Stars embossing folder.

I placed the tanks where I wanted them and felt I still had room for a bit more patriotic embellishments, so I pulled out the Star Brads-Red/White/Blue and attached them as well.

As you can see from the top picture, I made a simple banner for across the bottom and a greeting using the Alternate Gothic 2 BT.

Inside, a heartfelt sentiment using the same font and another tank as an accent.  A perfect way to say thank you to the soldier in your life!

See you next week!  Is there anything in the store you'd like to see used on a card?  If so, let me know and I'll do my best to come up with some inspiration to share!

Jeweled Peacock

Hello again everyone, and happy Friday!  I'm here with a card that's bright and blingy!  I just love this color combo, which was inspired by our new flower and feather washi tape.

The stamp set I chose had a coordinating stencil, so a little distress ink made a subtle background of peacock feathers.  I used strips of the flower and feather washi tape, bordered by some glitter washi tape to form a border accent, topped by some frilly, colorful ribbon.  At the center of the bow is a clear-edged 12 mm jewel.

The peacock's tail was the perfect spot for embellishing with some beautiful turquoise sticky-back bling.  It's so nice how the jewels all coordinate together.  Makes it so quick and easy to embellish a card.

Have a great weekend!  I'll see you next week!

Happy with Gold

Happy Friday Everyone!
This is Georgiana from Carson's Creations and today is my day to post.

Here is my Design Team project...
With graduation, retirements, and lots of birthdays approaching in the next couple of weeks, I decided to use the colors black, white, and gold to stay elegant and gender neutral.

I created the background by laying the gold washi tape in diagonals strips. Then I cut the card mat with a MFT die from Blueprint 24. The inkadinkadoo sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink then Ebony embossing powder was heated.

I punched a few small holes and inserted the gold glitter brads into the MFT stitched circle before applying pop dots for dimension.

I used the following products from Eyelet Outlet and Brads shop.

You Always Understand

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday!

We all want to be understood and sometimes we're lucky enough to have a person in our lives who really gets us - at least most of the time!   I just love how Eyelet Outlet's Emotion Brads communicated my appreciation for that special someone who understands my many moods!

A fun way to add emphasis and interest to your sentiments is with Eyelet Outlet Bling Strips! Today I emphasized the word "usually" in my sentiment by underscoring it with Red Jewel Strip in the 4 mm size.

These cuties come in a mini size with different expressions, too.

Happy Birthday Boys & Girls

Hey Everyone!

I'm back today with a set of birthday cards for a boy & girl. Using some of our fantastic brads & enamel dots over at our Store

The first card was so much fun because it brought out the kid in me again. I know a lot of people think girl = pink! But personally I have always been a fan of all the colors in crayon box!! And most times for me the brighter the better!!! So I grabbed my super fun Bright Heart Enamel Shapes and used them as my color palette for the entire card:

I made a tiny envelope and left it open to show that there was a ton of love sent her way on her birthday:

These Enamel Hearts are so much fun that I didn't just want to use them on the front so I added them on the inside as well and arranged them to look as though they were also floating her way:

For the boys card I decided I wanted a grunge look and knew I had the perfect paper to match the embellishments I had chosen to use. The embellishments used are Multi Size Green Enamel DotsBlue Stars Enamel DotsStar Brads8mm Fall Brad Mix and the paper is called "Like Father Like Son" from Fancy Pants Designs:

These Star brads are some of the best grunge embellishments I've seen and I love the fact that they come in multiple colors & sizes in the pack. The enamel dots were what made the paper come to life for me :O)

I wanted to dress up the inside a little and the paper pack came with stickers so I pulled one of the borders that I thought would look great with the addition of some of the smaller enamel dots from the packs. I thought the small stars were a great touch for the sentiment:

Well I hope you enjoyed todays project and that it inspired you to create something fun :O)

Sweet As Candy!

Everyone knows that Eyelet Outlet makes (as the name implies, lol) eyelets; by now I'm pretty sure the secret of the awesome brads and washi tape are out, too! But today I (Laurenhave a card that celebrates the newest member of the Eyelet Outlet family, our super-fun Enamel Dots and Shapes! The inspiration for my card is the fact that the round ones totally remind me of the brightly colored candies in the gumball machines that were on the counter of seemingly every store in my childhood.

There are so many shapes, colors and styles that I couldn't possibly show them all, but here are a few of my favorites in my own collection:

This time I went with classic round Enamel Dots, since they look the most like gumballs! To make the machine, I printed out a piece of copyright-free clip art and used it to paper-piece the machine from cardstock and patterned paper. I filled my machine with all different sizes of gumballs, since that makes a design more dynamic. Plus, it filled the space better! ;) For the gumballs at the very bottom of the machine, I used my stout craft scissors to snip one edge flat, so that it would look more realistic.

For the background I made my own patterned paper by filling a 4x6" panel of white cardstock with neat strips of colorful Dot Washi Tape. I printed an appropriate computer-generated sentiment et voila! Would you care for a gumball?

I hope today will be an especially sweet day for you! If you need an extra treat, why not scroll down to the post below this one and see what my lovely DT sister Carri has made?!

loves the look of pretty much ANY colorful candy...
but usually only eats the chocolate ones!

Beach Fun!!!

Tuesday and my time to post on the Eyelet Outlet Blogas soon as I saw the new spring collection of brads I knew I wanted to make a Seaside scene using the Sandcastle, they are so cute and in the Eyelet Outlet Store now!!!

We spent time camping when our boys were young and I know playtime at the beach includes big trucks, bucket and shovel and seashells and the latter would have been picked up to throw at the brother. I did use a strip of skinny washi tape on a flat spot where the embossing folder didn't quite reach.  Have you heard that there are no mistakes in crafting only opportunities to embellish.

The bucket and shovels are in primary colours and the work trucks are three different designs.

Sandcastle and seashell close-up.

Every beach comes complete with seagulls and these are just adorable and they come in two different designs, flying and standing.

Summer will soon be upon us and what great beach brads to add to any of your summer holiday scrapbook pages.

Thanks for visiting today and happy crafting.

New Washi Tape Fun

Have you checked-out all of the new Washi Tape in the Eyelet Outlet Store?  The new ones have an asterisk at the beginning of their name, so they are all at the top of the list.

I made cards today featuring two of the new tapes.

We have a *thing* for whales at our house, so the Wide Whale Washi Tape (say that three times fast)  was the first one I added to my collection.

It paired perfectly with this Go With the Flow Whale Stamp from Hero Arts stamped in Purple Ink on light blue cardstock and a few Whale Brads for accents using this week's Sketch Saturday Layout.

Next, I had to have this Wide Pineapple Washi Tape.

I tried stamping my Hero Arts Color Layering Pineapple in the colors of several of the pineapples on the tape (I love how many different pineapples there are before the pattern repeats).  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous.

I just love how those three shades of green ink turned out ... and they are perfectly accented by a row of Green Jewel Strip in the larger 5mm size.
