Working From Home

The events of 2020 brought a lot of changes into our lives and one of them was working from home. I've got a fun little card for you today that pays tribute to all who have made that big adjustment and I hope it puts a smile on your face!

To create this card I used the Dallas city skyline from Cricut's American Doodles City Skylines image set and added an Eyelet Outlet cloud from the Sun & Cloud set and airplane brad from the Travel brad set.  This set also includes a suitcase and camera.

From all of us at Eyelet Outlet, best wishes for a happy New Year!

It's in the Bag!

I (Lauren) love giving super-fancy presents to my friends and family for holidays and birthdays, but I definitely don't like paying fancy prices for giftwrap and bags; especially when I have lots of lovely Eyelet Outlet Bling and Washi Tape to make my gifts stand out!

For these gifts I wanted a really elegant winter and festive feeling, without embracing any particular holiday, so I went with lots of blue, silver and white. I used Glitter Winter Washi on my first bag, and surrounded it with Glitter Silver Star Tape plus Silver Foil Skinny Tape. My diecut snowflakes are topped with 1 1/2" Snowflake Bling and Bumpy Heart Bling and I've scattered some Blue Pearl Bling and Snowflake Sequins around for good measure. My second design features Glitter Tall Tree Tape surrounded by White Foil and Twig Tape

Whatever colors, themes and holidays you love, I bet there are Eyelet Outlet Brads, Bling, Tapes and Sequins to make your gifts as beautifully individual as you are! ♥

hopes you have a very
Happy New Year!

Have a Wild Birthday!

I love that no matter the theme, Eyelet Outlet has the topic covered. Today is a perfect example. I wanted to do a jungle themed card because I have a great stamp set in that theme. And of course Eyelet Outlet had the perfect brads and washi tape for what I had in mind.

I started by applying Giraffe Washi Tape on a kraft 4" x 5 1/4" panel in strips until it was covered. To get smooth edges, I folded over the raw tape edges to the back of the panel. Then I wanted to create circles to hold the elephant, giraffe and ape brads from the Jungle Mix Brad Set. I covered a small piece of white cardstock with Safari Foil Washi tape and cut 3/4" circles out of it. Then I set one of the animal brads in each circle.

The next steps were to cut the sentiment pieces and heat emboss them with black and white embossing powders. I cut a long rectangle out of a piece of jungle leaf cardstock I had on hand and a 1" strip out of green metallic papers using my deckle edge cutting blade. I stacked these together on the right side of the card. On top of that, I attached the rest of the pieces. I thought the lower left corner looked a little bare so I stamped and cut out a couple tropical plants from the same jungle stamp set that I got the sentiments from. Any jungle-looking die cut or stamp would work for this.

I hope you enjoyed a tropical themed card after all the Christmas projects. I know it felt pretty good to do something a little different for a change.

Have a great week and Happy New Year to you!

Can't have too many dogs!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing a fun card for your favorite crazy dog person! My hubby and I are crazy cat people but we love dogs too, and all kinds of other animals for that matter. This was a fun clean and simple card to put together!

I thought a brown and black color combo for this dog card would be fun. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding white card base along with slightly smaller black and white cardstock panels. I applied a strip of Glitter Brown Washi Tape down toward the bottom of the white panel and then added strips of Glitter Black Washi Tape above and below the brown. I stamped the sentiment in brown ink, added several Dog Brads and layered the panel on the black cardstock panel. I adhered the piece to the card base and added several White Enamel Dots to finish off the front.

Thanks so much for stopping by - we'll see you next time!

Give 2020 The Boot!

Typically I go for a New Years card with glitz, glimmer, and shine, but this direction seemed more fitting this year!  I'm giving 2020 THE BOOT with an Eyelet Outlet Cowboy Boot brad!

I also used a few strips of our wood grain washi tape for the background mat and my sign is swinging from an Eyelet Outlet screw brad.

I'm sure I speak for all of us on the Eyelet Outlet Design Team when I say we appreciate you following us through this tough year and we sincerely wish each of you health and happiness in 2021!

Last Minute Mayhem!

What do you do when you discover at the verrrrrrrry last minute that you need FIVE more cards NOW?! Just grab a sheet of journaling cards, your favorite Eyelet Outlet holiday brad styles, and some washi tape and you're all set!

These cards are just slightly smaller than the classic A2, made to fit a little stack of odd-sized envelopes I (Laurencame across. All of the backgrounds are made of washi tape and there's a super-skinny mat behind each which could easily be made from Glitter Tape or Foil Tape.

I used the colors and themes of the journal cards to suggest which brads I would add... the car illustration (above) already had a tree on top, but I added a Pine Tree Brad for more dimension and interest. I put Screw Brads on the hubcaps and made a background from Wide Tree Tape. The little elf (below) obviously needed an Ornament Brad and a Star for the top of his tree. The soft sage green in Poinsettia Tape was the perfect color match.

The "Ho Ho Ho" card could easily have incorporated more ornaments, or Holiday LightsWreath BradsSanta and Missus ClausSnowman or Snowman Couple Brads, even Snowflakes or Poinsettias! But I went with three Santa Hat Brads, affixed to a few of the O's. The background is Ornament Tape, which lines up perfectly in horizontal strips to make full-sized ornaments.

A mat made of Christmas Pattern argyle style tape picks up the colors of the Holiday Coffee Cup and  Candy Cane Brad this cute snowman is holding.

Finally for the sweet elves, I added another candy cane and a Heart Brad, with a background of Tree Washi Tape... another washi selection that can be made into a full sheet, just by working patiently in strips.

I hope you'll be inspired to add Eyelet Outlet holiday brads and tape to your store bought tags, cards and bows this gift-giving season!

wishes you a very
happy holiday season!

Happy New Year!

Thankfully 2020 is soon on the way out. As a wise person said, 2020 stinks, stank, stunk! Time to move on to what is sure to be a much better year.

To make this card, I started by covering a panel with the very pretty Glitter Star Tape and then I cut out the ray pattern using a die from Hero Arts. I also cut out a branch from a die in my collection and a red sentiment label from cardstock. Assembly was really easy. I glued the glittered piece on to a silver foil card base. The center oval piece cuts out with the die so I was able to separately work with the center. I glued the branch down on the oval and placed the Cardinal Profile Brad on the branch and then glued the finished oval to the center of the card. I stamped and heat embossed a white new year greeting on the red label and put Red Mini Round Brads on each side before mounting it on the card with foam tape. The last touches were two white and one red sequin. There are so many things you can do with this basic ray pattern.

Check out the Store for all your brad, washi tape and bling supplies! Have a wonderful week. When I post next, it will be 2021! Yay!

Here comes Santa Claus!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing a double flap card design! I sure do love me some fun folds! I've had this one in my tutorials for a while so I thought it would be fun to pull it out and make a Christmas card! Not too many more sleeps until Santa shows up!

I cut the card base from chartreuse green cardstock and cut layers from gold foil cardstock and green plaid digital paper, and adhered them to the left flap. I cut layers from gold foil cardstock and a coordinating solid green digital paper for the right flap. I created some snow banks from torn white cardstock and randomly placed several Pine Tree Brads which I embellished with thin lines of glitter drops to resemble snow. I stamped Santa and his reindeer along with a sentiment in black ink, and then adhered the layered panel to the right flap. I added Ivory Enamel Dots to the left flap to complete the front.

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of Tree Washi Tape (Wide) and a narrow strip of the chartreuse green cardstock, and stamped the sentiment in black ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Flannel Shirt Gift Card

Today's card entitled, "Flannel Shirt Gift Card", is a great way to present someone with a gift card!  Buffalo check patterned paper + Eyelet Outlet Embellishments makes this card a definite at holiday time.

The pocket insert provides a small forest scene consisting of Eyelet Outlet Deer Brad with two Eyelet Outlet Pine Tree Brads along with a holiday greeting.  A gift card is adhered (with one glue dot) to the back of the pocket insert.

Eyelet Outlet Red Brads (from the 1/8 Summer mix) represent the shirt buttons while the Eyelet Outlet sticky-back Pearls add a bit of interest to the collar and pocket.  (TIP:  I was out of black dots so I used grey pearls and colored them black with my alcohol markers.)

Although this card is used today as a holiday greeting card, this could also be a birthday card as well1

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree!

My husband was a DJ back in the 60's and there's nothing he enjoys more than listening to his record collection on his 50+ year old jukebox!

Eyelet Outlet products were just the right thing to help me wrap his Christmas gift in an extra special way!

The jukebox is from Cricut's Nifty Fifties image set and I used Eyelet Outlet record brads, and music notes to embellish this slider.  I also used various sizes and colors of Eyelet Outlet enamel dots to adorn the Christmas tree.

Pretty sure he's going to love this!

Peaceful Winter

A simple, snowy card featuring baubles filled with wintery Eyelet Outlet wildlife brads: PenguinsMoose and Polar Bears, oh my!

I diecut three ornament shapes, each composed of navy paper flecked with snow for the sky; and white glitter paper for the ground. Then I added two Penguin Brads and a small Snowflake; a stately Moose Brad in front of a Pine Tree; and a mother and baby Polar Bear. I mounted the ornaments on foam tape for extra dimension and positioned them under some sparkly pine branches, then added clear Bling Strips as hangers. I think they're SNOW fun and festive!

Tropical Christmas Tree

Not all Christmas' have snow. This tropical Christmas card has me thinking of warm breezes and sand between my toes.

This A2 sized card was created using cardstock from the Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow Christmas pad. The palm tree was cut on my Cricut with a free file from Printable Cuttable Creatables called Christmas Palm Tree. I cut all the pieces out and put two slits in the sand piece and inserted the bottles from the Beer Brad set. Then I covered the sand piece with embossing ink and heat embossed it with Sand powder from Hero Arts. Then I glued everything down on the back ground and inserted the Holiday Light brads. I also used a Holly brad near the coconuts. I printed the sentiment on photo paper, cut and matted it on matching cardstock.

I was inspired to do this card by the Corona beer commercial where it's a dark night and you hear a guy whistling Oh Christmas Tree. Then suddenly a single lighted palm tree brightens the picture. I love that commercial and the beer isn't too bad either! LOL!

The inside sentiment continues the "warm" vibe. I colored this with Wink of Stella Fine Glitter Pens.

After doing many traditional Christmas cards, this one was a breath of fresh air. I hope it took you on a quick magical trip to the tropics too!

A latte Christmas wishes!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing a card with a latte Christmas wishes on it! I couldn't believe I had a die matching the sentiments on these little coffee cups! How lucky was that?! I also used some of our festive Christmas washi tape and a few of my favorite enamel dots!

I created a landscape top-folding A2 card base from white cardstock along with white layering panels for the front and the inside. I also cut red textured cardstock panels for the front and inside, and then rounded all four corners on all the panels. I applied a strip of Christmas Pattern Washi Tape vertically down the left side of the front red panel, then added three Holiday Coffee Cup Brads and three White Enamel Dots. I stamped the first part of the sentiment in green ink and adhered a white layered die cut just below it to complete the front sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Winter Wonderland

Today's card entitled 'Winter Wonderland' reminds me of a blustery day in the forest and finding a beautifully decorated tree!   I would love to do that!

The Stamps of Life Tree Die makes a wonderful tree to decorate.  Using Eyelet Outlet Enamel Dots, Sticky Back Jewels, Ornaments, and a Sticky Back Jewels for the tree topper, the tree comes alive!  Oh, let's not forget the Eyelet Outlet Deer Brads and the Snowman Brad (from the Snow Couple set).   With a simple, hand-cut snow bank and snowflake pattern paper, the scene is complete.

Have you browsed the Eyelet Outlet website to find what you would put on your tree?  Go on and head over there; it's fun to see the large variety of bling, washi tape, brads, enamel dots, and more.  Make a tree, decorate it, and then share it in our Eyelet Outlet Fan Page on Facebook; we'd love to see it!

Happy Hanukkah!

Here's a super-easy way to make a fun Hanukkah card without any themed product!

I saved the blue candles from several packs of Eyelet Outlet Candle Brads, and arranged them in a line to make a simple menorah shape. I added a blue Tear Drop Bling to act as flames on eight of them, with a Heart Enamel on the Shamash candle in the center; all set atop a sticker sentiment in white, accented with some little Round Enamels.

There's new inspiration nearly every day here on the Eyelet Outlet Blog, so be sure to check back often!

wishes you a very
happy holiday season!
