Keeping It Cool for Father's Day

Father's Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the amazing dads in our lives. This year, I decided to whisk Dad away to a relaxing beach scene with a handmade card that's as fun as a day by the ocean!

To create this tranquil getaway, I stamped the perfect sandy beach, calm water, a comfy chair, a colorful umbrella, and graceful palm trees. It really set the stage for a day of relaxation!

No beach scene is complete without the perfect accessories, and that's where Eyelet Outlet brads come in! I decorated the card with a variety of fun shapes: a cheerful Sun Brad, red Star Brad, a charming Boat Brad, cool Sunglass Brad, laid-back Flip Flop Brads, and a handy Cooler Brad. These little details bring the whole scene to life.

The sentiment truly captures the relaxed vibe: "Happy Father's Day! May your cooler stay full and your feet stay sand-free (mostly)." It's a playful wish for a perfect day.

It's a Soda, Pop!

What could be more appropriate for Father's Day than an absolutely diabolical "Dad Joke"?! Especially one created specifically to show off our brand new, super-fun Eyelet Outlet Cooler and Soda Brads! The first part of the sentiment is computer generated (this free font is called Modern Typewriter) and the second part is diecut, then adorned with brads. A mat of Multicolored Dot Tape and some white Round Sequins emphasize the bubbly aspect of carbonation, and finish off the design.

To a "tool-riffic" Dad!

Father's Day is just around the corner! Here is a fun card for you to create!

I started with a standard size card, stamping and coloring the bottom trim and using the black glitter washi and tape measure washi to create the background. I stamped, colored, and fussy cut various tools to add dimension. I stamped my sentiment and added the tool brad embellishments.

For the inside I added a few "tool" sayings and created a border along the bottom using the tape measure washi and more stamped, colored, and fussy cut tools! I also added a black enamel dot for a nail head. As in, "you nailed it!" I hope you enjoy!

Just for Dad

 

My husband is an avid golfer so for fathers day this year I chose 
a golf scene. The image of the golf cart is surrounded by golf shoe brads and palm
tree brads available at Eyelet Outlet and perfect to use for this card. I also 
used some spring brads for the tire centers.

The botton of the card includes some chevon washi tape from Eyelet Outlet
as well as the golf bag to provide some added color.
I dabbed in the clouds with distress oxide
inks to help fill the sky and add to composition of the scene.

Janet's Top 3 Favorites!

Hello Eyelet Outlet fans! This week the design team will be posting their top three favorite cards of the year. I'm kicking it off with mine. Here we go!

First is a Happy Father's Day card that's just perfect for the Dad that likes to be on the lake. I love the fishing and fish brads that I used on this card. Read how this one was put together and the products that were used on the blog post HERE.

It's always fun to come up with creative cards for the hard working teachers in our children's lives. I think this is one of my favorites because it includes so many EO animals and wide road washi tape. Each animal is different and special, just like our children. Last is this fun beach card featuring EO seashells, flip flops, wine, water, and floral washi tape for a matching bag and swimsuit. This just makes me want to go somewhere warm in the worst way! Fishing You a Happy Father's Day!

Hello EO fans! It's Janet here with a fishing card Dad will keep for years to come. The sentiment is cut with vinyl on my Cameo 4. Vinyl works great for something like this because you can cut even the tiniest letters and shapes perfectly. Surrounding the sentiment are Trout Brads, Fishing Pole Brads and Fishing Brads (the hooks). I also used matt finish enamel dots. These are not shiny and so absolutely perfect for masculine cards. It's adds pops of color without adding shine which is not so masculine. The final touch was spraying some Dylusions Spray on it to give it a water spattered look.

World's Best Handyman Dad!

Hi everyone! Father's Day is coming up and for my family this is an extra special one because it's also my son's 17th birthday! Yes, folks. He was born on Father's Day. It rarely lines up on the same day but this is one of those years and I can't wait to celebrate with both of my best Dudes!

This card was created with my Silhouette Cameo 4 machine and an oldie but goodie file from Jamie Cripps called A2 Tool Pegboard Card #60346. It's just right to hold Eyelet Outlet Tool Brads with two Heart Shaped Enamels and a single Green Enamel Dot. This is super quick to make and you can buy this file as an .svg if you'd like to try it on a different cutter. So fun and perfect for that guy that enjoys working on projects.
