Gulls Just Wanna Have Fun

Eyelet Outlet Seagull Brads, that is. And in this case, they're having their fun on two three-inch-square Inkbox Cards I (Lauren) made especially to hold them. I love that the Seagull Brads have two poses, so I decided they should each be the star of one card. And since I was dying to use my new softly metallic Ocean Tape, I'd pair it with Script Washi and some Glitter Skinny Tape to make a foreground for both.

The first card features the distance flying seagull up in the "sky" of the card and down on the washi tape beach I've clustered a Shell Corner Brad, as well as both the starfish and sand dollar from the Sea Shore Brad set.

The standing up seagull is the star of the second card, and he's standing next to a cluster of all three Shell Brads. I felt like it needed one more thing for balance, and you'd be surprised how often our Sun and Cloud Brads fit the bill on that score; which is why they are consistently on my "most used brads" list; along with Hearts and Snowflakes

star sign is Cancer, which explains
her love of all things beachy

I Love Ya A Latte

Today I have a coffee themed card that can also be used as a gift card. Eyelet Outlet has lots of great coffee related products without needed special papers.

After making the coffee cup gift card holder from Art Impressions, I decorated it with Swirl Bling and made a collage with the brads from the Coffee, Hearts and Saying Speech Bubble brads. I love how the swirl bling looks like steam.

For the background, I cut a 4" x 5 1/4" panel in white and covered it with rows of Coffee Cup Washi Tape. This is a cups of many colors washi tape and I just love it! I glued the finished panel on top of a red A2 sized card base.

enjoy the little things

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here, sharing a fun birthday card featuring our Gnome Brads along with Lawn Mushroom BradsSun/Cloud Brads and some of my favorite Grass Washi Tape and Wide Sky Washi Tape. Scenes are so fun to create, especially when you have the perfect brads and washi tape!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base and a layering panel from white cardstock. I covered the layering panel with Grass Washi Tape and Wide Sky Washi Tape, and adhered a die cut gnome cottage and tree stump with lantern. I added Gnome Brads, Lawn Mushroom Brads and a Sun Brad, and the finishing touch was the addition of a sentiment which I flagged on one end with a square punch.

I stamped the birthday sentiment on the inside panel in black ink and layered it on green cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Just Chicken In

I really enjoy the view from my craft room window.  My crepe myrtle trees have never bloomed so abundantly and there is always a bird or two splashing in my back yard bird bath.  Beyond my yard I have a perfect view of my neighbor's large flock of free range chickens and they're the inspiration behind today's project.

I cut the window for this card with my Cricut and welded some hexagon pattern into the cut out to create the door of a chicken coop.  I used foam tape to mount the chicken coop door to the card base and I love the dimension and depth this technique offers.  Of course, behind the chicken coop door are a couple of amazing Eyelet Outlet chicken brads as well as a strip of extra wide sky washi tape.

Check out our chicken brads as well as our roosters and chicks to round out your flock! And don't forget the eggs!

DINO-mite!

There are few things more fun for a cardmaker than "making a scene" (in card form, of course!) but it's even better if you get to make THREE tiny little scenes... each providing a home to an adorably ferocious Eyelet Outlet Dinosaur Brad!

My little squares are just about 1.25" each; which turns out to be the perfect size to hold a simple rendition of sky and ground, one Dino Brad and either a Tall Palm Tree and a Mini Butterfly or the Sun. By staggering the horizon line across my A6 card, the tiny scenes relate to each other, and hopefully add up to a larger landscape that is "DINO-mite"!

can literally NEVER
resist a diabolical pun!

No Drama Llama!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here, sharing a fun inspirational card featuring our matching llama brads and stamps, along with my favorite white enamel dots! I love this pleated fold design, and pairing it with the llama makes it so fun!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from white cardstock along with layering panels from double-sided patterned paper and cardstock. I created the pleated fold element from the opposite side of the layering panel and adhered the layers together. I stamped the sentiment from the Llama Stamp Set in yellow ink, punched it with a circle punch and layered it on a slightly larger yellow punched circle. I added a Llama Brad to the center of the circle element and adhered it to a layered strip placed horizontally across the panel. I added some die cut corners and White Enamel Dots to complete the card front.

I embellished the inside panel with strips of patterned paper and cardstock, stamped another sentiment from the Llama Stamp Set, and layered the panel on yellow cardstock.

Hope Your Birthday is Smashing!

When I saw the little pinata image in the Cricut image library, I immediately thought of Eyelet Outlet candy brads!  On this colorful card I used the lollipop brads and the peppermint candy brads.  Both of these have several different colors in each package.

I used a few strips of skinny washi tape to create a border between my striped paper and sentiment.  Eyelet Outlet has lots of colors, widths, and patterns of washi tape to choose from.

Thanks for stopping in today and we'd love to see how you're using the candy brads in your projects, so come on over to the Eyelet Outlet Fans Group on Facebook and share with us or tag us on Instagram!

Happy (Almost) Father's Day

It's nearly Father's Day, but there's still a little time to make an extra-special card featuring some of the things Dads love: grillin'... (thanks to Eyelet Outlet BBQ Brads); chillin'...  (courtesy of our Beer Brads); and crusin' down the highway... with our Classic Car Brads!

Here's fair warning regarding my (Lauren's) cards for the rest of the summer: I am OBSESSED with the new Extra-Wide Sky Washi Tape! At 50mm (almost 2") you can cut a nice, long, easy-peel strip and that's the whole sky on a slimline card. I punched cardstock grass to meet it about a third of the way, et voila... instant landscape! I spelled out the central word of my "Happy Father's Day" sentiment in chunky cork alphabet stickers and clustered my BBQ BradsBeer BradsClassic CarsMini BeesSun and Cloud Brads around them; then added a thin yellow cardstock mat and a slightly thicker one made of Wood Washi, to serve as a frame.

There are plenty of other traditional Dad-related items in the EO Store; you could rock a Camping theme... Fishing theme... a Food and Drink theme... a Motorcycle theme... or a Tool theme; and if your Dad is less traditional, I bet we still have something fun that will work!

is still loving slimline cards!

Shake Your Tail Feathers - Retro Neon Flamingos by Janet

It's HOT out there right? For my neck of the woods, the humidity has been worse than the heat but it all gets me to dreaming about bright colors. In this case, neon colors. I've noticed that neons are making a comeback this summer. Lots of manufacturers are putting out neon inks, papers and embellishments. Welcome back to the 80's ladies and gentlemen!

Today I have made a slimline card with a flamingo theme. Lucky for me, Eyelet Outlet has many products featuring flamingos! In this project, I cut flamingos out of neon cardstock using my Cricut and created three shakers. I filled them with three different colors of flamingo sequins. If you don't know it already, Eyelet Outlet has greatly expanded their sequin line to include many different fun shapes and colors. The flamingo sequins are just one of many new shapes added this spring and you get all three colors when you order them. I also used two flamingo brads and black matte enamel dots on this card. If you're really into flamingos, you'll find several flamingo washi tape designs in the store too.

Magical Enchanted Birthday!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here, sharing a fun magical enchanted birthday card featuring some of our very cool critter and mushroom brads along with some skinny washi tape and bling!

I cut a standard size A2 top-folding card base and several layering panels. I embellished the front panel with some diagonal strips of cardstock and Copper Skinny Washi Tape, adhered it to the card base, and stamped the sentiment in dark green ink in the upper right corner. I stamped, colored and die cut an adorable wreath full of mushrooms and greenery, adhered it to several more green cardstock wreath die cuts for a little dimension, then adhered the wreath to the front panel.

I added two Fox Brads nestled among the mushrooms and greenery, and two Lawn Mushroom Brads just below the wreath. Then I added some white pearls to finish the front.

I embellished the inside panel with strips of green cardstock and Copper Skinny Washi Tape, stamped the sentiment in dark green ink, and layered the panel on dark green cardstock.

Let's SHELLabrate!

Eyelet Outlet has many ocean/beach themed brads, but my very favorite are the Shell Brads!  This is probably because they remind me of the thousands of shells I picked up along the shores of Lake Erie when I was a girl.

Today I used a couple to dress my darling little mermaid as well as adding a mini stitched flower brad to her hair.  Isn't she cute?!

The mermaid is from Cricut's "Makers Gonna Make" image set and the pretty shell themed papers are a digital paper pack from Jo Kavanagh Designs on Etsy. A few more shells in the sand next to her and we're ready to SHELLabrate Summer!

Wise Monkeys

Here's yet another example of a phrase that I (Lauren) saw on a shirt or on Instagram and thought, "that would make a fun card!" I stand by that belief in the case of this sentiment; and yes... I really did think getting old would take considerably longer!

I started out with an entirely different idea, but when I saw my Birthday Sock Monkey Brads and remembered that I had Sprinkles Tape, I changed plans immediately! I love that the Sock Monkeys  (which, by the way, are on sale for .99c!) come with five colors in the packet, so that if you want to use a bunch of them together, they add an entire rainbow. Oh and did I mention they're on sale?! As well as being... more fun than a barrel of (Sock) Monkeys!!!

can never resist
a sock monkey!

A Baby is Brewing!

The good news of a baby on the way is always welcome and today I'm celebrating the joy of my friend and her daughter's pregnancy. Of course I had to use awesome baby themed brads from Eyelet Outlet for a fun and special card!

The coffee cup and steam images were no line water colored with Zig Clean Color markers. The words were drawn on the striped cardstock with a fine tipped pen on the Cricut Explore 2. I used the Cricut to create the blue, pink and white banner too.

The Pregnant Lady and Pacifier brads are used on this card. A cute daisy between the two cups is from the Colored Daisy Brad Set. I think it's just perfect!

how the SHELL are you?

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Well, another week has come and gone, and another Saturday has rolled around! Time is literally flying by! Leslie here sharing a super fun note card featuring two kinds of shell brads and fun fish brads in the store, which were just the ticket to pair with this adorable new stamp set in my stash! I see a mass-produced card set to give as a gift in my near future, lol!

This CAS card design was an easy one. It just required a little bit of stamping and coloring on a trimmed layering panel, a light layer of distress ink for a smidgeon of color, and the addition of the Shell BradsSea Shore Brads and Fish Brads. I also added seashell Crystal Drops to the pearl in the shell. You can't see it in the pic, but I popped the panel up on blue craft foam. I love using colored craft foam under white layers because that pop of color peeking out from underneath is so fun!

I layered the blank inside panel on blue cardstock to tie in the water element, and since this is a note card, I left plenty of room to write a custom message.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Appreciate You MOWER & MOWER!

Earlier this spring my husband became seriously ill and is no longer able to mow our yard. Our amazing neighbors have stepped up and are doing it for us and we are so grateful.

I reached for the lawn mower brad from Eyelet Outlet to show our neighbors how much we appreciate them.  This cute set includes a rake, too!

Colorful ATCs

I (Lauren) love making Artist Trading Cards with my Eyelet Outlet Brads, so this seemed like a good time to make some featuring the newest Spring 2021 Releases: FelinesKennel MixColored DaisiesTropical Birds and Reptiles.

"Feline Groovy" features the Feline Brads, obviously, as well as some colorful wide Geometric Tape.

"Bloomin' Awesome" has only one of the three shades of Colored Daisy, but it's colorful enough to keep our attention. I've added some Flower Tapeas well as two older styles of Skinny Tape.

"Doggone It" pairs the doghouse from Kennel Mix with a Long Dog (who's on sale!) and an accent of two plaid washi tape styles as well as some Skinny Heart Tape.

"Squawkward" stars a one of three very handsome parrots from the Tropical Birds Set, as well as boldly spotted Dot Washi Tape and Skinny Tape.

"Birds of a Feather" features a pair of adorable toucans from the Tropical Birds, because TWO toucans are even better than one! I love how they look against thet bold black and white Floral Tape (which is out of stock, alas but This One is quite similar).

And finally, "One in Chameleon" has the eponymous half of our Reptile Brads against some Foil Tape.

There's inspiration all week long on the Eyelet Outlet Blog, stop back often and see!

loves making ATCs!
