EASY.QUICK.SIMPLE.

I can’t be the only one that forgets to send a Thank You card now and again only to find out the intended recipient is stopping by in a few minutes to say hi. AHHHH!! That happened to me today and I put together the cutest Thank You card in under 30 minutes and the recipient loved it and thought I spent hours on it…little did she know.  😊

I grabbed some Flower Petal Washi Tape and a few pearls from the Pearl Bling Sheets and off I went. I first drew three lines down the side of the card with a black marker.  I then cut out several of the flowers from the washi tape and pop dotted them to the face of the card on the lines I drew.  I added some pearls, drew some cute little bows, and finished it off by adding a nice little sentiment and voila…a simple yet sweet thank you card in minutes!

Easy. Quick. Simple. Thanks to Eyelet Outlet, this card was Easy. Quick. Simple.

Junk Journal Junkie

Have you ever heard of a Junk Journal?

No, it is not a journal where you list all your junk. A junk journal is a handmade notebook/journal where you take leftover paper, magazine clippings, embellishments, miscellaneous kinds of washi tape…pretty much anything you have around your house, and you layer them all together on a single page in your journal.  Junk journals are the best because there doesn’t need to be a theme and there is no right or wrong way to do it.

Did you know that Eyelet Outlet has a wonderful selection of washi tape you can use to create your junk journal?

On this page, I used seven…yes, seven, different types of washi tape to create this brightly colored page. I’m about to show you a whole other fun way to use washi tape so sit back and get ready to get your junk journaling on!

I started by tearing pieces of old cardstock to make the bottom layer. Then, I added about 8” of the wide Flower Washi Tape on the far-right side of the page running vertically. I loved the way those flowers looked so I ended up fussy cutting (cutting something intricate by hand) two more and placed them on the page as single flowers.

Large pink and red flowers are fussy cut from the Floral Washi Tape.

All eight of the 3-D butterflies are Butterfly Washi Tape that I fussy cut, as well and used a pop dot to add dimension.  I used the exact same technique for the brightly colored flowers by using the Flower Petal Washi Tape.

Placed randomly throughout the page, is the beautiful Red Flower Washi Tape as well as Silver Foil Washi Tape to add a bit of reflection.

You will see that I added many different words and phrases to the page but the words that take center stage are the Moon and Back Washi Tape running vertically on the right side.

The two beautiful girls that are decked out in their winter wear are from the Winter Girl Washi Tape. Each girl was fussy cut, and a pop dot was added to give the girl in the pink extra dimension.

To finish this page off, I added a few different sized black Pearl Bling to keep your eyes moving.

If you have never tried to create a junk journal page like this, I highly suggest it.  You can just lose yourself in your creation and before you know it, you have just created something amazing.

Hi (and Hi Again!)

I (Lauren) am still slightly obsessed with Eyelet Outlet's huge selection of Pearl and Jewel Brads, which come in pretty much every size, color and style you can imagine. This week I've used them on two all-occasion cards that also feature EO Flower Petal and Multicolor Dot Washi Tapes:

I built the first of these cards on top of a polka-dot transparency, so that the blooms I backed with cardstock and cut out of the Flower Petal Tape would appear to drift down the card, held on only by a variety of Pearl and Jewel Brads, ranging from tiny 5mm size to substantial 12mm. There are two strips of Multicolor Dot Tape wrapped around the front of the card and a small strip of cardstock inside, to hold a greeting and signature.

For the second card, I used one of my favorite diecutting tricks, which is to keep an entire set of alphabet dies intact, and use the negative space, after the letters are cut out, to use as a background. When the letters H and I happen to be next to each other, this makes an instant greeting! This time I used only 5mm Purple Pearl Brads (they come in five other shades!) with silver bezels to attach the Flower Petals.

Remember that ALL Eyelet Outlet Pearl and Jewel Brads are currently on sale; so I'm pretty sure you'll want to collect an assortment of styles, too!

is already thinking about a few more ways to use Pearl and Jewel Brads!

EGG-stravaganza!

Do you know how many styles there are of Eyelet Outlet Pearl and Jewel Brads? Ok, as a matter of fact, I (Lauren) don't know either, but it's A LOT! They range from quite small (5.5mm) to extra large (16mm) though the biggest one shown here is the 10mm Soft Pink Pearl Brad attaching a few Paper Flowers on the medium sized egg. Meanwhile, many styles are available in both silver and gold bezels; there are smooth and bumpy styles; some have fancy edges... and by the time you factor in all of the different colors, there are literally hundreds of variations! But the most important thing for you to know about EO Pearl and Jewel Brads is that they are ALL on sale for just .75c a pack!!! The second most important thing for you to know is that they are all beautiful and useful. In this case, I've decorated Easter eggs with them:

As you can see, we also have quite a few styles of Sticky-Back Bling, as well. On this card and tag we see individual Pearls (there are Jewels as well), Bling and Pearl Strips, and several styles of Fancy Long Bling, and I've hardly scratched the surface of what is listed under "Bling and Sequins" in the EO Store. By the way, there are also FOUR styles of Eyelet Outlet Washi on this card: Bunny Tape, Chevron, Rainbow Dot Washi and my current fave: a wide, rainbow blossom-bedecked style called Flower Petal Tape, from which I have cut out individual flowers and added them with Pearl Brads to the largest egg. Of course they work for lots of other occasions besides Easter, so you should probably head over to the Eyelet Outlet Shop and browse around for a bit!

is already dreaming up more ways to use classic Pearl and Jewel Brads!
