A Rose for You

This card features a pop-up feature of a rose inside. I paired
the rose designer paper that I had with some gorgeous
butterfly washi tape from Eyelet Outlet.

Then I used the  butterfly washi tape on both the inside and
outside of the card. I also added bumpy clear gems on both
the inside and outside for some additional sparkle.

To add to the butterfly theme I included Eyelet Outlet
butterfly brads.

Junk Journal Junkie

Have you ever heard of a Junk Journal?

No, it is not a journal where you list all your junk. A junk journal is a handmade notebook/journal where you take leftover paper, magazine clippings, embellishments, miscellaneous kinds of washi tape…pretty much anything you have around your house, and you layer them all together on a single page in your journal.  Junk journals are the best because there doesn’t need to be a theme and there is no right or wrong way to do it.

Did you know that Eyelet Outlet has a wonderful selection of washi tape you can use to create your junk journal?

On this page, I used seven…yes, seven, different types of washi tape to create this brightly colored page. I’m about to show you a whole other fun way to use washi tape so sit back and get ready to get your junk journaling on!

I started by tearing pieces of old cardstock to make the bottom layer. Then, I added about 8” of the wide Flower Washi Tape on the far-right side of the page running vertically. I loved the way those flowers looked so I ended up fussy cutting (cutting something intricate by hand) two more and placed them on the page as single flowers.

Large pink and red flowers are fussy cut from the Floral Washi Tape.

All eight of the 3-D butterflies are Butterfly Washi Tape that I fussy cut, as well and used a pop dot to add dimension.  I used the exact same technique for the brightly colored flowers by using the Flower Petal Washi Tape.

Placed randomly throughout the page, is the beautiful Red Flower Washi Tape as well as Silver Foil Washi Tape to add a bit of reflection.

You will see that I added many different words and phrases to the page but the words that take center stage are the Moon and Back Washi Tape running vertically on the right side.

The two beautiful girls that are decked out in their winter wear are from the Winter Girl Washi Tape. Each girl was fussy cut, and a pop dot was added to give the girl in the pink extra dimension.

To finish this page off, I added a few different sized black Pearl Bling to keep your eyes moving.

If you have never tried to create a junk journal page like this, I highly suggest it.  You can just lose yourself in your creation and before you know it, you have just created something amazing.

Flowers and Butterflies

This card is a "Z" card. So, I needed
to decorate part of the inside that would also show
as well as the outside. I have been mesmerized by the
beautiful butterfly washi tape that Eyelet Outlet sells.
The colors are so pretty on these butterflies
and they look like watercolor. I used
this washi tape in the inside of the card and also to make
a frame for the flowers that I matted in black.

The flowers I used are die cuts that I layered and then
decorated  with a stiched flower brad from Eyelet Outlet
for the center. I used two black pearls on either
side of the sentiment.

Finally I used the blue strip pearls from Eyelet Outlet
at the bottom of the card and also to
highlight the petals of the flowers.

Keep creating and I will see you next Monday!

The Bumblebee Cottage Luminary

 The Bumblebee Cottage Luminary

Happy Saturday Everyone!! I absolutely LOVE making 3-D pieces and knew I wanted to make one for this week’s project.  I was stuck on what I should make.  I had a ton of ideas in my head but one morning, I went out back to my raised garden and saw these beautiful bumblebees buzzing around my cucumber plants, I knew right then what I needed to make!  A BUMBLEBEE COTTAGE LUMINARY!

Luckily, I already had a template to get me started and then I was off in my own little bumblebee world!!

I loved adding my own personal touches to the actual cottage. Rather than using preprinted cardstock, I made my own cardstock out of Washi tape from Eyelet Outlet!  This allowed me to be as creative as I wanted to be.  I wasn’t stuck in that preprinted "box".

I ended up using the wide Butterfly Washi tape for the walls and roof of the cottage and embossed them to give more depth. For the floral base, I used the Flower Washi tape to give it a nature feel. The walls, roof and windows are all decorated with a multitude of bling to make sure the bumblebees will always be able to see the sparkle of their cottage. On the roof, around the base of the cottage and the base of the floral stand, we have the clear Jewel Strips while the windows are all decorated in either clear Jewel Strips or green Jewel Strips.

The beautiful flower that greets the bumblebees is made from the purple Paper Flowers and the white Paper Flowers with a dainty purple Cut Jewel in the center.

And what would the Bumblebee Cottage be without bumblebees?!?!  We have our three locals, Barnabee, Beeatrice and Buzz bringing in the day's pollen. These cuties are Bumblebee brads.

Ohhh…who’s that???  I see a ladybug or two scouting around the cottage. Can you find them? They are from the Ladybug brad collection.

What about when they are out searching for pollen late at night?  How will they find their cottage?  Not to worry!! IT LIGHTS UP!!!  The whole top removes to reveal a base with two battery operated candles that light up the night sky!

Don’t worry Barnabee, Beeatrice and Buzz…we have you covered!

How fun was this one?! What did you think?

Hope you enjoy!!

Summer Fun & Sunshine!

Hello Ai fans! Well, it's the first holiday of the summer and you know what that means? Yep. Fun in the sun is in full swing. Break out your whites, swimsuits and beach umbrellas. It's time to soak it in while we can.

To create this card, I made the background using Skinny Washi and Glitter Chevron Washi. I added Blue Glitter Enamel Dots in corners. I made a mat for the ephemera piece with Butterfly Washi and more of the Glitter Chevron Washi. Then I attached the pieces together and decorated the edges with many summer themed brads. I used: Beach Umbrellas, Sunglasses-Colored, Water Splat, and Crab & Lobster Brad Sets. The entire list with links are found below:

You Are Fairy Sweet!

Fairies are featured in my card for you today. EO's Fairy Brads come in several colors and the green and pink colorway fit perfectly with my card. Butterfly Washi Tape provides a nice border for the sentiment to rest on. Grass Washi Tape is extra wide so one row provides a great foundation for all kind of outdoor scenes.

Take a look in your stash for ready made items like my sentiment and fairy house. Combine them with EO products to create a perfect card for just about every theme you can think of!

I'm Sticking With You!

It seems like it's a lot easier to be down occasionally over this past year than it was before. I know I have experienced some down moments myself. If I become aware that someone is having a rough time, I like to send them an encouragement card with a note of support. That's what today's card does.

This is a little bit of a word play since I've used "sticky" washi tape with this sentiment. I made the embellishment piece as a print-then-cut from Cricut Design Space. I created it by combining the tape dispensor image with my own created text sentiment. More and more I am going to my computer to make the perfect sentiment for my cards. And why not? You can say anything you want whether you do it in Word, Cricut Design Space or other program.

I used a lot of very cheery washi tapes for this card. I also used two stitched flower brads on the sentiment.

Online Dance Party!

What do you do when you have Eyelet Outlet's Computer Brads, Headphone Brads, Musical Note Brads, and a supply of Washi Tape?  Of course, it's an Online Dance Party!

Today's card is 2 of a 6 card series featuring Eyelet Outlet brads/washi and highlighting words (and/or things) that we have learned during this historical time.  Today's word is ZOOM.  I had not heard of Zoom, however, in recent weeks I experienced multiple medical appointments using ZOOM and it was great!

As you can see on the card, four youngsters have gathered on ZOOM to have a dance party.  They have their computers, headphones, and are ready to turn up the music and dance. Get ready for creating your online dance party by visiting the Eyelet Outlet site for brads, washi, and more.  Have some fun!

Happy Crafting!

Thanks a Latte!

One of my (Lauren) all-time favorite Eyelet Outlet brad sets has to be the Coffee Brads, which come with white cups, red cups AND coffee beans. So of course I was pretty psyched when I saw the new Coffee Stamps which are quite literally made to go with the brads!

I love that all the EO Clear Stamp sets are a mix of images and really great sentiments, sized exactly right to be used with the brads. For my first card, I stamped the "Cool Beans" sentiment  over and over (...and over and over...) on a panel of plain white cardstock, using lots of gorgeous bright shades of archival ink.

Then I added the (literal!) cool beans by making some of the Coffee Bean Brads the centers of three different sizes of Paper Flowers. My mat is fabulous Splatter Tape and there's a little strip of beautiful watercolory Wide Flower Tape to add extra interest!

My second card features Butterfly Washi, which I used to make my background squares that hold the sentiment, "Thanks a Latte" stamped on a heart shape. I added Flower Tape, some fussycut butterflies, and a pair of Coffee Cups nested on top of Plain White Flowers for a summery look!

Need more ideas? There's daily inspiration here on the blog, as well as  on FacebookInstagram and Pinterest... and we add new projects nearly every single day!

likes real life coffee beverages almost
as much as their Eyelet Outlet counterparts!

Washi Tape Collage Alphabet

For this week's card, I had fun exploring a Washi Tape Collage Technique.  I started with a scrap of white cardstock and then randomly began applying washi tape to the background.

I kept going to fill-up my background, incorporating lots of different designs.  I kept my tape vertical, horizontal or diagonal.

Then, to help bring all of the patterns together, I used several washi tapes in muted colors for the top layer.

Next I die cut lots of letters from my background and made two cards.  The first one uses the big PEACE Die Cut from Simon Says Stamp ... I love how the bits of flowers peek through in the design.

Next I die cut the entire alphabet using Lawn Fawn Cole's Alphabet Dies (with a few extra letters from the spaces I had left) and created this birthday card.

It was so much fun to put my alphabet background puzzle together.   I started from the middle and worked my way to the edges, keeping all of my letters vertical or horizontal to the cardstock square.  When I was done I trimmed the edges and finished with my Happy Birthday sentiment.

I hope this gives you ideas for ways to use your Eyelet Outlet Washi Tape stash.

Eyelet Outlet Card-making Fun

I've had fun creating with Eyelet Outlet products this weekend.

The first card features Dragon Brads for a fun birthday card design.

Sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Lovable Legends.

Eyelet Outlet Merry Christmas Washi Tape is the perfect accent for all of you Christmas Cards (or envelopes).

I love the subtle grid background behind the words.

And the Eyelet Outlet Butterfly Washi Tape is absolutely gorgeous on Kraft Cardstock

There are so many Butterfly Washi choices in the store ... which is your favorite?
