May the Luck O' the Irish Be Yours!

Hello everyone! I feel the start of spring and it gave me the inspiration to make a St. Patrick's card. I was inspired by a design posted by Jennifer Willert in Cricut Design Space. I used several EO products to make this design my own including brads and lots of bling!

To make this card, I cut the white panel using the pattern in Design Space. I cut the black pot and the background for the gold in the pot and three shamrocks out of scrap cardstock. Behind the lattice design I placed a panel I made using strips of Sparkle Gold Glitter Washi Tape.

For the pot, I added several Gold Glitter Enamel Dots and I put two Beer Brads on the front of it. After stamping the sentiment, I put a Rainbow Brad below it. Next I put a round Jewel Bling with a clear edge in the middle of two of the shamrocks. I inked up a White Paper Flower with green ink and put one of the completed shamrocks on top and put it in the top left corner of the white panel. I doubled up the other shamrock and put it in the right corner. Finally I added rows of colored Jewel Bling Strips to form a rainbow.

To finish this card, I matted the white panel on top of a green piece of cardstock and then placed the two layers on a white A2 card. There's a lot going on with this card but I think it turned out well and I know one of my Irish friends will enjoy receiving it.

I'll see you next week but until then please visit the EO store for all your brads, washi tape, bling and paper flowers!

Happy Creating!

Going Green!

It's the day before Saint Patrick's Day, so this seems like a good time to "Go Green" with two styles of Eyelet Outlet Washi Tape (Green Pattern Tape and Green Dot Washi) and a scattering of Round Sequins; not to mention a green Paper Flower that's been cut apart into two-petal sections and pieced back together into the shape of a four leaf clover!

Wishing you a very Happy Saint Patrick's Day, and good luck all year long!

When Irish Frogs Are Smiling

Sunday is St. Patrick's Day and since I (Lauren) happen to be about 60% Irish, here are a couple of timely cards, all dressed in green, featuring our adorable Eyelet Outlet Frog Brads!

By now I expect everyone knows that premade journal cards are my very favorite cardmaking "secret" so it's no surprise that I have employed them here. These particular ones happen to be from Doodlebug Design; I love their clear bright colors. I changed the "Happy" to "Hoppy" on the sentiment flag with the help of a green jewel brad, and added a handsome pair of Frog Brads as well as one of the cattails and waterlillies which come in the same set. A green Heart Enamel completes the little scene.

For my second card, just a single Frog Brad, a few purple Heart Enamels, and a strip of Stripe Tape trimmed with some Skinny Glitter Tape.

I hope all of my Irish friends will enjoy a very Happy St. Patrick's Day... but then EVERYBODY is Irish on March 17th! ♥

A Wish for You

Hello everyone! It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today. I've been so eager for this day to come!  It's my first official post as a design team member for Eyelet Outlet.  Seems like it took forever to get here...I've been like a kid waiting for Christmas.

So without further delay, here's my card.  Well, as you can see, I made a matching gift box as well...perfect for some "Irish Potatoes".

I used Glitter Enamel Dots as corner accents and as the centerpiece of the shamrocks.  You should see these in person!  Beautiful!  They actually have small flakes of glitter baked into them and really put on a show when the light hits them.   The Glitter Enamel package contains three sized dots and I used all three in each corner.  They're adhesive backed, so placing them on your project is easy as 1-2-3.

To make the card and gift box, I combined components from several cut files purchased in the Silhouette store.  I used the specks of color in the Enamel Dots to select the card stock.  They range from a very pale green to medium (shamrock) and dark.

I scored down the center of each leaf on the shamrock; turned it over and scored the "veins" in each leaf.  The edges of the leaves were brushed with gold.  The finishing touch is another Glitter Enamel Dot in the center of the leaf.

On the coordinating gift box, the top is similar except the edges are scalloped.  I wanted to add a bit of bling to the sides so I placed this grouping all around.

I'm not of Irish descent, but I believe everyone is a "wee bit" Irish on St. Patrick's day; so I love to make cards in honor of the day.  Honestly, I'll use any excuse to make cards!
