Floating Ornament

Snow has already started flying in some parts of the country and it's time to start thinking about trimming the Christmas tree!  Today I'm bringing you a fun Christmas tree ornament featuring the Eyelet Outlet Cardinal Brad.

I cut the insert for my ornament on my Cricut from transparency sheets available at most office supply stores. A good rule of thumb for creating the insert is to measure the diameter of your ornament, then divide that figure by 3.14.  The circle for your insert should be just a tiny bit smaller that number to prevent it from curling inside your ornament.

I cut the branch for my ornament out of vinyl and applied it to my insert with transfer tape and I added some red jeweled bling to the branches.  After applying my Cardinal Brad to the insert, I snipped just the tips off of the prongs on the back off to make it a bit easier to get the insert through the hole in the top of the ornament.  I added some snow inside and a bow on top and this ornament is ready for the tree!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll give this project a try!
