A Card That's Mint to Be! 🍦🍨🍧

 
Hey, EO fans! Last week I made a hot grilling card, but this week I'm cooling things off with a sweet ice cream card in yummy mint and strawberry colors. It says, "You're my favorite flavor." I bet you can guess what mine is... Yep! Mint chocolate chip is my ice cream of choice. Yum!

I made this card using a die set from my stash to form the mint chocolate chip ice cream bar. For the chocolate chips, I used a combination of small dark brown circles and the smallest Black Matte Enamel Dots. I topped the bar with an adorable Stitched Flower Brad. Next, I created the oval embellishment with a circle border stamp and a scallop die. It features two yummy Ice Cream Cone Brads in the center. I popped the ice cream embellishment up on foam tape and set it aside.

For a simple yet interesting background, I cut a piece of heavy ivory cardstock and ran it through a 3D embossing folder. I then dabbed some pink ink on the raised areas of the design and splattered some of the same pink ink on top to add a fun speckled look.

To put the card together, I first created an A2-sized card base out of cream cardstock and glued on the embossed mat. I then placed the sentiment strip and my other embellishments, finishing it off with a few more matte black enamel dots for a final touch.

❤️🔥❤️ Hot Off the Grill: A Card Made with Love

 

Who else is feeling the heat this August? With the temperatures soaring, we've been leaning heavily on our grill to keep the kitchen cool. As my husband has been the grill master lately, I felt inspired to create a special card just for him. Turns out, inspiration can strike anywhere!

This 5x5-inch square card is packed with layers. I played with different textures and shapes, combining scallops, lace, and straight edges for plenty of visual interest. You might think lace is an odd choice for a masculine card, but I think it adds a subtle touch without being too frilly.

The centerpiece is a chipboard grill embellishment. For the grill's background, I used strips of Beer Washi Tape to give it a fun, beer-themed vibe - because what's grilling without a beer? I topped the grill with another chipboard piece that says, "Hot" and hand-wrote "You're" on the grill to complete the playful message.

To finish, I added some extra touches from Eyelet Outlet: Beer Brads and BBQ - Apron & Grill Brads. A few Red Pearl Hearts decorate the grill lid, and Heart Jewel Bling accent each corner, adding a final pop of "red hot" color.

Heard It Through The Grapevine

 Here's an easy birthday card for a wine-loving friend. I printed the grapevines and sentiment, then simply added the amazing brads to top it off!

I used a couple bunches of grapes. The package comes with three colors of grapes (red, purple and green) and I opted for the purple ones today. The Eyelet Outlet wine brads brought the celebration to this card! The package includes red or white wines, and I went with red today.

Back to School Cheers! An Apple for the Teacher

It feels like we were just celebrating the 4th of July, and now, just as summer seems to be getting started, it's already time to welcome the kids back to school! Time truly does fly.

We took our son to his new college apartment this week, and it instantly made me nostalgic for the simpler days of grade school and middle school. In that spirit, I've crafted a school-themed card this week that's absolutely perfect for a new student to give their teacher as the academic year begins.

To make this card, I started with a pre-patterned card base. I used an apple die from my stash to cut out a stitched apple-shaped window. To fill this window, I placed strips of Tape Measure Washi Tape onto yellow cardstock. It was then very simple to glue the panel on the inside of the card, allowing the cheerful yellow washi tape to peek through the apple cutout.

I added a stem and leaves to the apple, and then stamped and cut out my sentiment strips. I applied a strip of Book Washi Tape as a themed border before adhering the sentiments. Then came all the fun brads! First, I placed a delightful Pastel Owl Brad above the "Thanks" sentiment. Next, I added Computer & Headphone Brads along the border, tying into the school theme. The final touch was a perfect stack of books in the form of a Book Brad, completing this school scene.

This card is a sweet and simple way to show appreciation as the school year kicks off!

Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes

 I created this meme-inspired birthday card for my older brother and I think he's going to get a kick out of it!  We've all heard the children's rhyme, "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes," and now we have the adult version of that rhyme: "Wallet, glasses, keys and phone!"

The little old man image is from Paint Pixel Co. on Etsy. He's part of a darling set of funny old men clip art images that I just love! I used Eyelet Outlet wide sky washi tape for the background behind the man and I used Cricut images for the wallet and keys. Then I added a pair of eyeglasses and cell phone brads from Eyelet Outlet.

How to Have a Happy Birthday

Just in case anyone needs a bit of advice for celebrating the happiest of birthdays, Eyelet Outlet has exactly the right brads and tapes for the job. Stay on the Happy Trail

 

Today's card is in honor of Eyelet Outlet's owner, Suzanne. She is an avid hiker and is currently on a month's long hike. She's had some ups and downs on this trip and has had to stop for a while to heal an injury. Hopefully she'll see this card today and know that I'm rooting for her! Stay on the happy trail Suzanne!

This card was made with cardstock and ephemera from Spellbinders. I arranged all the paper elements on this card, then added several EO brads. The squirrel is holding an Acorn Brad. I placed two pastel Leaf Brads and Gnome Brad at the foot of the stump. Finally I added a couple Dragonfly brads.

Flying Pig

Sometimes achieving a goal seems as probable as pigs flying, so that's when it's time for a fun encouragement card!

This little airplane with an open cockpit is a Cricut image that I paper pieced and it was perfect for my pig brad to take off in! He's flying among the cloud brads and adding whimsy to a difficult situation.

Hopefully a laugh will renew my friend's strength as she's pushing on toward her goal!

The adorably whimsical new Eyelet Outlet Hippo Brads definitely know how to make any occasion more fun, more fab, and more colorful! On this birthday card, they dance among letters diecut from Heart Tape and adorned with birthday Balloons, a Party Hat and a fun Candle Brad swapped out for the "I" in the sentiment.
