Summer Fun!

Do you have your summer vacation plans ready? I love having more family time during the summer and always look forward to spending time together making memories and enjoying rest and relaxation.

I enjoyed creating this "summer vibe" card using things that remind me of summer! I love the boombox washi tape as it reminds me of days at the beach with our boombox playing our favorite summer tunes! I added the adorable sunglasses brads because that is a summer staple! Lastly, I had to add the flamboyant, pink flamingo brad for extra fun flair! Flamingos are too adorable!

Do you ever decorate your mailing envelope? It is fun and easy to do with washi tape and it makes your delivery extra special!! Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to shop at Eyelet Outlet for your crafting needs!

Flamazing Flamingo

"This is what Flamazing looks like" was inspired by the adorable pink flamingo brads! Wouldn't this be a fun card to give to someone you would like to show your appreciation to?

I created this card by starting with the flamingo wide washi tape for my top and bottom borders. I added coordinating green cardstock for the middle. Then created my sentiment adding the flamingo brads, green jewels strip for extra embellishment, and layered with pink patterned cardstock.

A Flamingo Celebration!

Happy Friday, Eyelet Outlet Fans!  I am here today to share a fun, shaker card that I created.

Are you a fan of flamingos?  When I go to the zoo, I love to watch them as they interact with each other.  They always look so majestic to me as they stand on one leg.

I colored up this cute flamingo with Copic Markers, cut it out and set it aside before creating my shaker element.  I die-cut several squares from card stock and acetate, adhered them all together and set it aside to dry completely.
I die-cut the cover panel and adhered a strip of the beautiful flamingo washi as a border across the top.  I thought it would be the perfect backdrop for my sentiment.
I filled the shaker element with flamingo sequins and adhered it to the front of the card.  I added the flamingo to the top of the shaker, and I added a loopy silver bow that I completed with a flamingo brad.

I think this turned out so fun and will be perfect to send to someone celebrating a special occasion!

I hope you are inspired to get crafty!

Mele Kalikimaka...

...means Merry Christmas in Hawaiian, as any Jimmy Buffet or Bing Crosby fan will tell you. I (Lauren) love to make Hawaii-themed cards all year round, so I don't see why I should stop at Christmas time, especially when I've thought up a truly spectacular pun AND there are so many awesome Eyelet Outlet products to convey a tropical, beachy theme.

My crafty BFF (and fellow EO designer) Stephanie gave me a stamp set called "Polynesian Paradise" for my birthday, and I am absolutely in love with the adorable Hula girl who inspired my sentiment. I thought she'd look especially cute on a Christmas ornament, with a Fresh Flower Brad in her hair, and I stand by that decision. I made a second ornament by neatly lining up strips of Flamingo Washi on plain white cardstock, then tracing a homemade heart-shaped ornament template and cutting it out. I added a Flamingo Brad on a couple of small white Paper Flowers, then "hung" both the baubles from Pearl Bling Strips cut down to fit the space.

One of my favorite ways to use EO brads is to make custom sentiments for my cards. I love alphabet dies and stickers and I always think it's fun to mix and match them. In this case I've used a white all-caps font, but then highlighted "hula" by using larger green letters. The thing that really makes them shine, though, are the Tall Palm Tree and Sun Brads. At the end I couldn't resist a Heart Brad or three just to tie the whole design together.

I hope you'll have as much fun preparing for the HULA-days as I did making this card! ♥

cannot ever resist a tropical brad, or a silly pun,
...or a card that combines both!

Which Way to the Beach?

There are so many fun supplies for planners available ... only one problem ... I don't use a planner.

However, when I started looking more closely, I realized a lot of the planner supplies have lots of card making possibilities ... like these fun Hexagon stickers I used to make today's Eyelet Outlet cards.

The sherberty colors work perfectly with the Eyelet Outlet Ice Cream Cone Brads & Flip Flop Brads.  I also added a few rows of fun Flamingo & Pineapple Washi Tape.  A sticker sentiment and wrap of gold ribbon completed the design.

I oriented the Hexagons a different direction for this design accenting with flat-back enamel Flamingo and another fun Flamingo Washi Tape design ... summertime fun for sure!

Home Is Where You Park It

Hello everyone.  It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today.

Eyelet Outlet has some new Flamingo Brads and I wanted to get in on the fun using them.  I started going through my stamps and pulled out a set I purchased on impulse and wondered if I would ever actually use it.  Well, the answer to that is, YES, and it's all because of these flamingos!

Here's my card featuring this darling flamingo as yard art!

I stamped the image and colored it using Copic markers with colors to coordinate with the Striped Washi Tape, which I applied to all four sides of a larger panel and mitered the corners.  And, voila, a perfect frame for my focal image.

I placed my flamingo yard art front and center and used the Sun and Cloud Brads to complete the scene.  To finish, a greeting using the AlwaysHere font on a mat of Tempting Turquoise card stock; to match the card base.  Here's a closer look at the main attraction:

For the inside, I typed the sentiment using the same font and another flamingo for good measure.

I hope you enjoyed my card today!  I sure enjoyed sharing it with you.  See you next time.

Who provided the inspiration for these cards?  Katy did!

Let's Flamin-GO!!!

I suppose there must be people somewhere who dislike flamingos, but I (Lauren) have luckily never met them! And the new Eyelet Outlet Flamingo Brads are especially appealing, in my opinion!

To show this handsome guy off to best advantage, I've chosen a palette of pinks, yellows and peach. This meant I could pull in some Sun and Cloud Brads, too; as well as a Heart Brad. With all that color in the little medallion shapes, I chose quite a neutral palette of text paper, with my favorite Leafy Coloring Book Washi Tape (left uncolored, however) and some Pearl Silver Swirl Bling.

This card was so much fun to make, I decided to use the leftovers to make an ATC, as well. I've used the same palette, and similar products, including another super-cute Flamingo Brad, obviously!

If flamingos aren't your thing, there's lots of other inspiration here on the Eyelet Outlet Blog. Why not scroll down and see what my design team sister, Carri, has to show you today? ♥
