A Special Gift of Grace: Custom Bible Verse Card Box

Sometimes the most meaningful gifts are the ones that help us share our faith with others. I recently finished this custom handmade box for my Pastor, and I’m so excited to share how it came together! Products from Eyelet Outlet makes this box beautiful and sturdy.

I wanted to create something functional and beautiful that would allow my Pastor to keep her favorite Bible verses organized. This box is perfectly sized to hold verse cards, making it easy for her to keep the ones she loves most or pull one out to give to someone in need of a little extra encouragement.

I started with sturdy white cardstock to ensure the box had a solid structure. Before cutting the base and top, I covered the cardstock in a gorgeous Floral Collage Washi Tape This doesn't just look pretty—the tape actually provides a naturally moisture and grime-resistant surface, making it durable enough to be carried in a purse or briefcase. Once the cardstock was "laminated" with tape, I cut and fashioned the box base and lid to my custom dimensions. To finish the top, I added a collection of symbolic brads from Eyelet Outlet to include a Lion, Sheep, Red Rose and three delicate Mini Butterfly Brads.

I absolutely love how this turned out! It feels personalized and sturdy, and most importantly, it serves a beautiful purpose in spreading God's love. It’s a small way to support someone who spends so much time supporting others. If you'd like the cards I used here, they can be found on the Art Impressions Web site.

Wishing You a DAZZLING Birthday

I learned a new thing recently! I learned that a herd of zebras is sometimes referred to as a DAZZLE! My stash of Eyelet Outlet zebra brads came immediately to mind and so I made a dazzling birthday card!

I used images from the Cricut Design Space to create this card and then added the wonderful dazzle of  zebra brads on the front.  For the inside, I used my Cricut on the washi tape setting to cut some stars out of Eyelet Outlet silver glitter washi tape.  The sparkle of the tape really added to my dazzling theme!

Thanks for stopping in today!  I hope your day is dazzling!

No LION! You're Great!

I've got Valentines on my mind today and I'm crazy about incorporating Eyelet Outlet brads into them!  Today's Valentine features the King of the Jungle, the lion brad!

How about a little "Throw Back Thursday" today?

A couple of years ago I put together a little kit so that my great niece could make her own Valentines Day cards for her class party at school.  She had so much fun with this project! Using my Cricut I cut out a two layered heart image. I attached the text to the white heart layers and used the print-then-cut feature in Cricut Design Space.  I punched all the holes where the brads would be placed and she matched up the brads with the valentines and glued the red heart frame to the cards.

Here's a photo of some of the finished ones.

It's a Jungle Out There...

...but here on the Eyelet Outlet Blog I (Lauren) am WILD about zoo-themed journal cards paired with our Lion, Tiger and Zebra Brads, not to mention their adorable friends, the Elephant, Giraffe and Monkey Brads. Oh and there are some awesome coordinating tapes, too. See?

I've mentioned before how much I love journaling cards, they are really hard to beat for quick, beautiful designs. This particular set, from Photoplay's "We Bought a Zoo" collection is especially fun and perfect with both the original Jungle Mix Brads as well as the second Jungle-themed set. For my first card I cropped the journal card down a bit to remove a (very cute) monkey image so that I could add a Monkey Brad instead. I made a fun coordinating background by neatly lining up strips of Safari Tape on plain white cardstock to make my own custom patterned paper.

On the "Wild One" card, some handsome Elephant and Giraffe Brads are greeting a very regal Lion Brad. I made a mat from glorious Sparkle Copper Foil Tape and another bespoke patterned paper background using a beautiful Sunset Safari Tape that's so new it isn't quiiiiite in the store yet!

The "Wild Side" journal card was 4 x6" so I needed to trim it down a bit. I added a strip of Safari Tape across the bottom and added a mat made from beautiful Leopard-ish Animal Print Tape, then added a Monkey Brad, as well as a Zebra and a Lion.

Never forget: if you don't have time to MONKEY around, EO Jungle Brads and coordinating tapes make cardmaking a ROARING success... and I ain't LION! :) :) :)

still cannot ever
resist a diabolical pun!

Why Did the Tiger Loose at Poker?

I can't help myself!  I love making silly joke cards for the kids in my life and this old tiger joke came quickly to mind when I saw the new Eyelet Outlet Tiger brad!  I knew he'd pair perfectly with the playing card brads, so away I went to create this card!

A touch of playing card washi tape and this card practically made itself!  The kids will love it!

If you're in the Duluth Georgia area this weekend, July 19-20, we will be at the Scrapbook Expo, so come on by and pick up some awesome embellishments!

Aww, Nuts

Hi!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards sharing a card using the Elephant brad from the Jungle Mix set, which includes not only the elephant but a giraffe and monkey, too.  I love this set and I'm excited the new release adds even more options with Lion, Zebra, and Tiger brads.

I decided this diagonal fold card would be a cute way to showcase the elephant with some digital patterned paper featuring peanuts and a zig-zag pattern.  And to set it off, I added two Enamel Hearts from the multi-color pack and a little embroidery floss on the elephant's trunk.  The embroidery floss plays off that old method to help memory recall by tying a string around your finger.

When you open the card you see the sentiment inside with another elephant and heart to tie the front and inside together.

I like this unique style of card and hope to use it again soon with another of Eyelet Outlet's great products.

It's a Jungle Out There

Woooooooohooooooooo! There are so many awesome new brads in the Eyelet Outlet Store, my (Lauren's) biggest "problem" was choosing which ones to use first. But you definitely don't dis the king of the jungle, so in the end, I picked the Lion Tiger Zebra Brads, and made some appropriately jungle-centric ATCs.

Artist Trading Cards are a fun format in which to work, all the more so because there are groups all over the internet and social media where you can swap them. The official size is 2.5 x 3.5" which is exactly that of a standard playing card. In fact, I often build mine right on top of old playing cards I scoop up at garage sales.

For this set I combined leafy patterned paper with some neutrals --including an older paper from my stash which actually had a map of Africa on it! Then I added strips of Hardwood Floor Washi and Animal Print Tape to complete a suitable background.

I framed the Lion, Tiger and Zebra Brads in little label shapes to make them stand out even more. Then added sentiments I formatted on the computer (this free font is called Cafe Rojas) and printed out on clear labels made especially for inkjet printers.

I had so much fun making these wild ATCs that I had to go back and make a coordinating set featuring the original Jungle Mix with the Elephant, Giraffe and Monkey Brads from last autumn!

I think you'll GO WILD when you see all the fabulous new brads, as well as our brand new coordinating washi tapes!!! ♥

is a big fan of
New Release Season!
