Thanks a Brunch!

I was recently introduced to a fun interactive fancy fold card called a Hide & Seek card. In this version, the cute little toast near the top of the closed card disappears when the card opens.

As it drops out of site, the little square that says, "Thanks a Brunch" appears! I used a very old Cricut image set called "Kate's Kitchen" for this card.  

On the inside of the card I embellished with bacon, eggs, toast, tea, and silverware brads. Below I've shared a video that will show you the card in action.

Tea Time

 This is a very spring oriented card with the pastels

and floral background. I have been

waiting for the right time to use Eyelet Outlet's

tea cup brads and they worked perfectly on this card.

I also added some pink glitter washi tape in the background

and loads of clear jewels from Eyelet Outlet. So, take some time 

for a cup of tea and relax.

Let's Have a Tea Party!

Good Thursday, crafters!  I recently re-discovered the beautiful retro graphics of Velma and Kathryn Balint of KB and Friends having first purchased from them many years ago.  I've gone completely wild over their adorable collection of boxes. Many of them pair so perfectly with Eyelet Outlet products, so you'll be seeing more of this type of card from me in coming weeks!  ;)

Today I'm having a Tea Party!  Inside the little retro tea set box you'll see a tea pot and cup from Eyelet Outlet Tea Cup Set as well as a spoon brad from the popular silverware set.  

On the table you'll see another of the tea pots in the set and seated at the table all ready for tea are the precious Teddy Bear brad along with his friend the Sock Monkey brad.

Hooked On You

Valentine's Day is fast approaching and the Design Team at Eyelet Outlet is hard at work to give you lots of inspiration for your Valentine projects, but no need to wait on Valentine's Day to let your special someone know how you feel!  Here's a card perfect for just that!

This awesome fishing lure card stock was just what I needed to pair with Eyelet Outlet's new fishing lure brads, don't you think?!  And they go so well with our popular fishing pole brads, too!

And speaking of Valentine's Day and since it is Thursday, how about a little Throw Back Thursday?

Last year I had so much fun creating these little punny Valentine cards for my great niece to share at school.  I actually put together a little kit of all the parts and brads she would need and she assembled the cards herself.  The fishing pole brads are pretty versatile, right?!

Getting Caffeinated

It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today!

I've been enjoying working with Eyelet Outlet's new clear stamp sets.  Among them is the Coffee Stamp Set.   The cards I'm sharing with you today pairs the stamps with some great brads and I love the result as much as I love coffee...and that's a LOT!

In addition to coffee themed sentiments, the stamp set includes images of the to-go coffee cup and the coffee bean.  On this card, I used the cup to create background paper; coordinating the colors to the brad.  To fill in the open areas, I randomly applied red Nuvo Dots in various sizes.  The Coffee Cup Brad was centered in the peek-a-boo oval where I stamped the sentiment in red.  The card base was created from a cut file purchased in the Silhouette store. 

While I made this as an all-occasion card, I think it would be a great way to present a gift card to a coffee shop as well.

If you want to send a card to catch up with your coffee-loving friend, this "What's Brewing" sentiment is perfect.  I stamped it in a flourished frame which I created from yet another cut file in the Silhouette store.  The flourish was the perfect spot to place the Coffee Bean Brads, accented with Pearl Bling. 

In the lower right, I placed a coffee maker (which I managed to obscure with my watermark).  On that, I placed an adorable cup brad from the Tea Pot/Cup Brads with a Heart Pearl colored with a Copic marker.  This great digital background paper brought all the colors together.

I tried something a bit different for this shaker card.  I stamped the coffee cup image and scanned it into my computer.  Then I enlarged it to card size.  With some welding and offsets I turned it into the shaker you see here.  If you're interested in knowing the process, just ask in the comments section and I'd be happy to share the details.  The "Cool Beans" sentiment fit perfectly on the lid.

Inside the shaker, I used the Coffee Bean Brads again.  To make sure they didn't catch on each other, I snipped the prongs off and just placed a drop of Glossy Accents on the backs.  This way they shake nicely.  Just for interest, I added a few seed beads.

I hope you liked my coffee cards and are inspired to go off an make your own...or at least have a cup of your favorite blend.  And did you know that National Coffee Day is September 29th, so this post is quite timely!

Everything I Brew, I Brew For You!

Lets get this Thursday morning started with some coffee themed cards, shall we? For this little card, I used the Espresso Machine from Cricut's Love You Latte cartridge.  But you know me, I love adding dimension and interest to my Cricut images by adding an Eyelet Outlet Brad!  For this card, I used the little tea cup from the Tea Pot & Tea Cup Brads Set.  For a touch more texture, I used one of the Eyelet Outlet Enamel Dots for the power button on the espresso machine, too!  😉

Also featured on this card is lovely digital paper from AMBillustrations shop on Etsy.  This set of 16 different coordinating patterns is called, "Coffee Time." 

How about a little "Throw Back Thursday," today?  Here's another card I did last summer featuring Eyelet Outlet Coffee Bean Brads from the Coffee Set and another one of the papers from AMBillustations "Coffee Time" set.  

To create this little guy, I combined the boy figure from Cricut's Beyond Birthdays cartridge along with the eyes and mouth from Cricut Funny Faces and an Eyelet Outlet Coffee Bean Brad for his body!

Enjoy the Little Things

I found another set of fun little stickers in the planner section at the craft store ... they were perfect to make a set of  4 1/4" square cards featuring a selection of Eyelet Outlet Brads.

I had a pad of Prima's Sweet Peppermint Holiday Papers on my crafting table, and they coordinated perfectly (remember some seasonal papers can be used all year 'round).  I love this cute little pair of doughnut brads.

Traveling and taking photos are things I *love love love* so these travel brads were the perfect match for this sticker.

These sneaker brads are for my sister who has been training for her next big race ... she's a rock star.

And I couldn't resist using this sticker again, this time with the sweet little tea pot and tea cup brads.
