Foxy!

I'm here today with a card that is just perfect for a busy, handsome kid who is constantly on-the-go and then crashes hard!   The one that suddenly cares about how he looks, that you can't get to go to bed, and then he sleeps away half of Saturday morning!

The stripes in this designer paper were a perfect border for Eyelet Outlet's fox washi tape, and the prints seemed practically tailor-made for our fox brads too!  They all were so cute I didn't want to have to choose, so I cut strips of several and glued them alongside the washi border, using one of the pre-printed sentiments as a focal point for that cute fox brad.  Couldn't resist adding a few more pops of color and shine with some enamel dots (Mickey colors and blue) too!

The border repeats on the inside, along with more enamel dots and a napping fox atop another one of those sentiments.

My father-in-law's birthday is the first week of July and I typically make him a birthday card using red, white, and blue colors. This year is no different.

The stamped sentiment is by Jaded Blossom ~ Sweet Birthday Wishes. I like this one because it has stars inside the o's to match the washi tape.

Oh Those Flamingos!

Happy Thursday Everyone!  Eyelet Outlet's new Flamingo Brads evoked a real nostalgic feeling in me and so today I'm bringing you two projects I created with them that will take you back in time!

They say everything old becomes new again and that sure seems to be the case with the reemerging popularity of Airstreams trailers and yard flamingos!  I loved creating this card with a vintage Airstream surrounded by a flock of Eyelet Outlet's brand new Flamingo Brads!

My camper is an image from Cricut's Campin' Critters.  Cutting one of the layers in a shiny corrugated card stock really added to the vintage feel of my trailer!  The grill image is from Cricut's Summer Love cartridge.  A little underscoring with a strip of our Pink Jewel Bling completes my project perfectly!

The moment I laid eyes on these awesome Pink Flamingo Brads, I was taken back in time to my grandma's yard in the early 1960's and I knew I had to create this scrapbook page with this black & white photo of me in 1963 loving her yard flamingos!  Even though this photo is black & white, I've always seen it in color in my mind's eye and now with these wonderful Pink Flamingo Brads accentuating it, everyone will see what I saw!

   

I did my title in white with a black shadow layer and then as the eye moves down the page everything begins to explode with color.  The actual photograph was probably taken with a camera that looks a lot like our Eyelet Outlet Camera Brad.  The Eyelet Outlet Pink Swirl Bling looks awesome on the black & white photo and the Pink Flamingo Brad just pops there among the black and white ones in the picture!

You're Invited to...

Hello Everyone!

Today I'm back with some invitations for those fun and fancy get togethers! These glam & grungy invites are sure to get people excited about what else you've got planned for those parties!

On the first invite I used some of our beautiful Cream - Swirl Bling to give this lovely lady some jewelry. Personally I'm a fan of big jewelry (my hubby calls it gaudy lol!), so I used 3 different sizes to outfit her with a pearl necklace and matching ring and earrings. Because I used the pearls on her, I wanted to use pearls on the butterfly so I pulled out one of my absolute favorites of the pearl collection, these Brown - Pearl Strips are so beautiful! (And are my second favorite to the green). After adding all the pearls I really wanted some sparkle to glam it up a little more. This Brown - Glitter Skinny Washi Tape comes in a pack of three with purple and green rolls. It was the perfect touch of glitter I was looking for.

For the second one I chose a mini invite for those of you who may want to go a little smaller in size but big on the bling ;O) This card has the gorgeous Champagne - Jewel strips to give it that extra glam. These Jewel Strips come in many different colors :O) 

For the third and final invite I used some more of the Brown - Pearl Strips & Cream - Swirl Bling to create the pretty flower center on the White - Paper Flowers and then cut one of the swirls in half so I could position it in 2 different directions underneath the flower.

When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Go Shopping!

Specifically *SHOE SHOPPING* ...although I (Lauren) have never seen real shoes that were quite as cute as these Eyelet Outlet Shoe and Purse Brads! Which is why I had to make two cards to feature them!

Once again, I've made my own patterned paper to act as a sort of springboard for the design. In this case, I filled a full sized 8.5x11" page with the phrase, "If the shoe fits... buy it!" in 12point Tabitha font. I printed it out first as ordinary black text on a white background. Then I decided to see if the reverse would be cool (yep!) so I set the font color to white and the background color to black, and printed a page of that, as well, so I could mix and match!

Both cards feature the same black, white and pink palette, to match the aforesaid Shoe and Purse Brads. Each packet has 4 shoes, 4 purses and 4 super-cute shopping bags, which you can see sitting next to the cards in the top photo. On the black card, to make the accent strip and focal image pop even more, I added tiny, skinny mats of Glitter Black Washi Tape.

Have an "Ice" Day from the Winter Penguin!

I coach high school cross country and we struggle through a brutal Arizona season, we have an athletic trainer that fills large containers of ice for me before I arrive at the school. That is so nice of him so I like to leave notes and bags of goodies to say thank you. I had to make this ice cube paired with this winter penguin and thought he would really get a kick out of this!

Hello again.  It's my day to post on the Eyelet Outlet Blog today and after a few false starts (my first two plans didn't work) I finally finished a project.  I hope you checked out Stephanie's project today it's fabulous. So I took a page from Stephanie's "book" and covered some teal cardstock with the wide leaf washi tape from the Eyelet Outlet Store, here is what it looks like.

I cut a flourish die in the same teal cardstock and covered some white cardstock with the same wide leaf washi tape and cut out the butterfly and the word Beautiful I added the rhinestone swirly bling from the Eyelet Outlet Store for the butterfly's tail and dotted a few more around the background.

Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI)

Every year, Iowa is home to one of the largest bike-touring event in the world ... RAGBRAI (also known as the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa).  
Since several co-workers participate in this week-long event, I thought it would be fun to make them some cards to celebrate the ride.

I started with Wide America Washi Tape to cover my card bases.

For this first one, I added a single yellow bicycle brad together with the Explore arrow brad from the same set.  I finished with some red, white & blue enamel dots.

For the next one I added a red & blue bicycles with another of the sentiment arrows and more enamel dots (I thought the riders would appreciate a bit of *down-hill* so I angled my washi tape on this one).

Home Is Where You Park It

Hello everyone.  It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today.

Eyelet Outlet has some new Flamingo Brads and I wanted to get in on the fun using them.  I started going through my stamps and pulled out a set I purchased on impulse and wondered if I would ever actually use it.  Well, the answer to that is, YES, and it's all because of these flamingos!

Here's my card featuring this darling flamingo as yard art!

I stamped the image and colored it using Copic markers with colors to coordinate with the Striped Washi Tape, which I applied to all four sides of a larger panel and mitered the corners.  And, voila, a perfect frame for my focal image.

I placed my flamingo yard art front and center and used the Sun and Cloud Brads to complete the scene.  To finish, a greeting using the AlwaysHere font on a mat of Tempting Turquoise card stock; to match the card base.  Here's a closer look at the main attraction:

For the inside, I typed the sentiment using the same font and another flamingo for good measure.

You, Me, & the Sea

I've been playing with my distress inks all week...they're really great for Summer beach scenes!  Just looking at these bright clean colors makes me feel a little bit more light-hearted!  The beach is such a great place to unwind and re-center.

Eyelet Outlet has a lot of great embellishments for beach cards! For today's card I've used shell brads, sand dollars from our sea shell brads set, and shell corner brads, which are perfect for framing a focal point or accenting a sentiment.  I love how they all harmonize so well together.  There are also sand castle brads and a whole Ocean category that includes anchors, buoys, fish, mermaids and whales!  

It's a rainy, stormy day here in Florida today, but hopefully we'll all see some sunshine before the weekend is over!  Enjoy!

Here is my Design Team  project...

I chose this frame, so I could showcase these cute llama brads in each window. 

  I added a piece of brown bling strip around each square. It is easy to cut to the length you need. The sentiment is computer generated.

I cut the balloon on my Cameo and added a piece of black craft thread for the string.
