Best Fishes
I (Lauren) have made a "Best Fishes" birthday card* for my brother nearly every year for probably a decade. This version features a background made of Ocean Washi, a sentiment diecut from Wood Tape backed with scraps of cardstock, and in the starring role our Eyelet Outlet Fish Brads (they're on sale!), plus some of the Trout from the Trout and Bass set.
Did you know that there's an EO Fish Stamp Set, as well? Plus cute and colorful Fish Brads, Fishing Lures, Fishing Poles and several styles of Fish Tape! Check out all of the Fishy Goodness at Eyelet Outlet!

how the SHELL are you?
Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Well, another week has come and gone, and another Saturday has rolled around! Time is literally flying by! Leslie here sharing a super fun note card featuring two kinds of shell brads and fun fish brads in the store, which were just the ticket to pair with this adorable new stamp set in my stash! I see a mass-produced card set to give as a gift in my near future, lol!
This CAS card design was an easy one. It just required a little bit of stamping and coloring on a trimmed layering panel, a light layer of distress ink for a smidgeon of color, and the addition of the Shell Brads, Sea Shore Brads and Fish Brads. I also added seashell Crystal Drops to the pearl in the shell. You can't see it in the pic, but I popped the panel up on blue craft foam. I love using colored craft foam under white layers because that pop of color peeking out from underneath is so fun!
Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Narwhals, Narwhals! (Plus Brads and Tape)
Of course, it didn't hurt that I had a brand new, adorable narwhal stamp that I was dying to use. But this idea is a bit more flexible than it seems at first. Because you could swap the narwhal for a whale, a dolphin, a mermaid... basically ANY cute sea creature would work! I got a bit artsy with my sky, using intermittent strips of the Cloud Washi, torn to fit around lyrics from The Narwhal Song, which I happen to love. But you could skip the typing and just make a nice neat cloudy sky above a Water Tape ocean. Once I had my background finished, it was time to have some fun with brads! I added Sun and Clouds towards the top, a pair of cute Fish Brads and a pink Heart Brad. My card is a 5.5" square, but this would also work as an A2. You'll notice that at every stage of this design I've said, "...but you could do *this* instead..." which I felt was starting to sound a bit lame. So eventually I figured I'd better actually make a card using all of the "insteads". Here it is now:
A nice neat Cloud Washi and Water Tape seascape, diecut into a heart to hold my Narwhal, plus those fab Sun and Cloud Brads again. And since I keep my Sunglass Brads right next to the Sun and Clouds, I noticed that they were a pretty good size for the narwhal to wear, so I added a pair from the Colorful set. Instead of patterned paper for a background I used an older Blue and White Dot Tape in the same color family. I even added a slightly more mainstream sentiment!
I hope you'll check out all the fun new Washi Tape in the EO store (the newest styles are all conveniently located at the top of the decorative tape section, with an asterisk before their names) and maybe even "make a scene" of your own! ♥

Silly Jokes!
This one is my favorite! Who would have thought I could create a card that pairs the new Eyelet Outlet Ghost Brad, Fishing Pole Brad, and Fish Brad in the same card!?

The answer? Lake Eeerie, of course!

A Fish Story
Another clear stamp set by Eyelet Outlet, Fish, was used to make this "Fin-tastic News" card. I combined the greeting, fishbowl and fish images from the set with the Fish and Sandcastle Brads, Blue Pearl Bling. Also used were the Brown Glitter and Halloween Dot Washi Tapes.
I stamped the fishbowl image twice on 3" circles of watercolor paper. On one, I cut the center out just inside the outermost line. I attached that with mounting tape to the second image, colored with Copic markers. The sandcastle brad was just perfect for inside the bowl. I also stamped a mirror image of the fish so she could be looking up at her buddy. Speaking of her buddy, he's a fish brad who's just so happy he can't "contain himself".
I made a water trail using the multi-sized pearl bling. Pearls were also added across the center on the Halloween dot washi tape...the dots gave me a placement guide for the pearls and were a perfect size. I attached that over the brown glitter washi which separates the two patterned papers from an old Gina K kit.
You can't really see it from the picture, but as a finishing touch, I coated the inner fishbowl with clear Wink of Stella to give it some shimmer.
If you like the cutout effect on this card, you might also enjoy this one I made a while back.

Fintastic!
Next, I had some fun with the little fishie stamp for a watercolor background. I heat embossed the fish stamp in a repeating pattern, and then I watercolored the background, creating a resist image. I fussy cut the fish bowl stamp and used more Brads and washi to finish the card front.
And finally, I used another piece of watercolored background and mixed two packs of fish brads (here and here) the fish stamp to create a full fishing hole.
