Floral Reverse Double Z Card

Welcome to a card that can't help you feel like a warm summer afternoon. This is a reverse double-z card. The card style features a horizontal strip of cardstock that spans across the card when it's open. The strip was a perfect place to add a strip of pink Fancy Long Bling from the store. I layered three paper flowers in white red and yellow and used a clear Bumpy Bling as the center.

I placed a centered strip of Fancy Strip Bling across the entire strip. I used the flower as the focal point by gluing it to the middle of the strip on top of the bling. Then I added a Bee Brad on the strip and also on the right side of the card. I used Pearl Strip Bling to create bee trails. Finally I added three Mini Butterfly Brads on the left side of the card.

I loved how this card turned out. EO products made it easy to make this card special. The products I used are below.

Roses and (CLEARANCE!) Bling

Did you know that Eyelet Outlet is liquidating their entire stock of bling?! There are soooooo many varieties, and while supplies last, each item is just $1.00... how can you beat it? One of my (Lauren's) absolute favorites happens to be Clear Swirl Bling, which is echoing the fancy swirls of this patterned paper. I've also studded the design with Rose Brads and Mini Butterflies... with everything clustered around a few pretty circular sentiment stickers. What else could you possibly need for a beautiful and elegant greeting?

Beautifully Blingy Shopping List:

BTW, Swirl Bling also comes in six additional shades AND there are Pearl Bling Swirls, too. In addition there's Bling Strips, Flower Bling, Heart Bling, Bumpy Bling, Holiday-Themed Bling, Snowflakes and  more. Check it out ASAP, because at this price, they're selling pretty quickly; and when they're gone... they're gone for good. It's Garden Time Somewhere!

It's definitely winter but as we start getting closer to Christmas, I can't help but start thinking ahead. This card will be given intentionally to a friend who has a January birthday. She told me once that she hated January as a birthday month because it was when all the holiday credit card payments were due and everything was gloomy and cold. Well, it's not going to be cold and gloomy on this card!

This is a mini-slimline card. It measures 3 1/2 x 6. It's one of my favorite card sizes. It's not too big and it's not too small but it's a unique size that you don't see sold in the mass market. I made this one by stamping some mini flower, butterfly, fence, and bee images on white cardstock. Then I colored them with Copic markers. I layered Gnome Washi Tape on white cardstock before cutting out the B.D.A.Y letters. I offset these adorable letters over offset black letters and put each on foam pads for really great dimension on the card.

To make this even more garden-like, I added several mini butterfly and mini bee brads. Finally, I added three gold glitter enamels to the top corner.

Light of the World Bookmark

I've been playing around lately making small bite-sized watercolor pieces. This bookmark with flowers and vines made a perfect setting for Eyelet Outlet Mini Butterflies and purple Glitter Enamels. The background is made with beautiful floral washi tape. The mini brads and enamels have a low profile and are good embellishments for something that needs to be relatively flat like a bookmark. I love the message on this one and look forward to giving it to a friend in their upcoming Christmas package!

Magical Tea House

Hello EO friends! Today I have made a magical card full of whimsy and cheerful fun. It features a tea house perfectly made for two cute Girl Gnome Brads. Flying above in the blue sky are the new Mini Butterfly Brads.

To make this card, I first cut a piece of white cardstock 3 1/4" x 4 1/2." I cut it in half to form two long narrow pieces. I applied strips of Red/White Dot Washi to one strip and Strawberry Washi to the other. Then I cut each strip in half so that I had 4 rectangles of equal size. I placed the pieces on my score board and spaced each the same apart from each other, using the score lines as a guide. To keep them in place I attached them each together with a strip of washi tape. Be sure to lay out the pieces right side up as you do this. Next I added foam tape strips to the back of each rectangle and then I placed them as one piece on a white A2 card base. Once in place, I removed the washi tape that held each piece in place. This technique makes each rectangle perfectly spaced without any hassle or guessing. It's an old cardmaking technique but a good one!

Easter Treatings

Hello EO friends! I was tasked by our Sunday School teacher to come up with a treat box for the kids on Easter Sunday morning. This is what I created as my first box. It's a box pattern from Cricut Design Space. It's made to fit a Kinder Egg.

I knew the newest release brads from the store would be great on the box. I decorated the simple box with the new Tulip Brads, Yellow Rose Brads, and Mini Butterfly Brads. They make the box so cheerful and the metal brads add a special touch to it.

The bow on the box was also made with washi tape from the store. I covered both sides of white cardstock before cutting out the bow pieces. The technique allows me to create a bow with a pattern I didn't have in an actual ribbon or cardstock. I love how that worked out. Just know if you try this, you'll need some glue dots or strong double-sided adhesive to put it together. Wet glue will work but takes forever to dry since the washi tape is coated.

If you haven't checked out the new spring brads yet, please stop by the EO store to take a look. You'll also see cards that the design team has made with them. Keep your eyes peeled for additional cards using the new spring brad release. If you want to get the full story, just visit the most recent blog posts from the team. Welcome Spring!

Well, we're in mid-March, the time has changed, March Madness is starting soon, and it's getting a little warmer where I live. A few daffodils are blooming and the trees are starting to form buds. Whew! We're getting close to moving into full blown spring. Thank goodness!

Today I've made a 5 x 7 card to welcome the new season. I have used the new Tulip Brads as part of the banner on the balloon and the new Mini Butterflies trim the top of the balloon. I added the pretty Yellow Roses Brads on the basket. They really dress the balloon up a lot! I added Daisy Brads to adorn the banner. I also used Green Pattern Washi Tape to mat the card in a perfect green scroll design. Finally I added three blue jewels to the bottom of the balloon. I should also mention that this balloon pattern came from an image in Cricut Design Space.

If you haven't checked out the new spring brads yet, please stop by the EO store to take a look. You'll also see cards that the design team has made with them. Keep your eyes peeled for additional cards using the new spring brad release. If you want to get the full story, just visit the most recent blog posts from the team. Happy Easter

We're so excited to introduce our new tulip brads in 4 beautiful colors just in time for your spring projects! I couldn't wait to make an Easter card with some of them.

I created a row of stems for my tulips across the bottom of the card front with green card stock. Inside the circle I used some of Eyelet Outlet's popular green grass washi tape, some Easter egg brads and a couple of cute rabbit brads near a basket of tulips from the Cricut image library. One of our brand new mini butterfly brads is fluttering above the basket.

HOPPY Birthday

Nothing makes for a more RIBBET-ing birthday card than Eyelet Outlet Frog Brads. As if the frogs themselves weren't already cute enough, the sets also come with cattails, plus purple and yellow waterlilies. So you basically have all the ingredients for an entire scene... (and inspiration for an appropriately punny sentiment!) ...in just ONE little pack of brads!

You could make a wonderful card with just an inky background and some Wide Sky Washi Tape, but in this case, I stamped the pond edge from Sunny Studios' Country Scenes set, colored it with Tombow Dual Brush pens to perfectly match the brads, and added a sweet little Mini Butterfly, which is on sale. I hope you'll agree this card is TOAD-ily awesome!

can never resist a diabolical pun!

Outstanding in Their Field

Sheep are shear magic and I (Lauren) think you wool love Eyelet Outlet Sheep Brads! I've made a farm-themed Valentine, although really this idea could work equally well as a birthday or encouragement card at any time of year.

I've watercolored the pretty barn and added a fun fence diecut in the foreground. My farmyard features the sweet sheep from our Pig and Sheep set, as well as some Mini Butterflies and the Sun and Cloud set.

In addition to the Pig and Sheep Brads, Eyelet Outlet has Cow and Goat BradsHorse and Pony BradsRoostersChickensChicksEggs, Pick-up TrucksCowboy Brads and Tractors, too! So FARM, so good!

DINO-mite!

There are few things more fun for a cardmaker than "making a scene" (in card form, of course!) but it's even better if you get to make THREE tiny little scenes... each providing a home to an adorably ferocious Eyelet Outlet Dinosaur Brad!

My little squares are just about 1.25" each; which turns out to be the perfect size to hold a simple rendition of sky and ground, one Dino Brad and either a Tall Palm Tree and a Mini Butterfly or the Sun. By staggering the horizon line across my A6 card, the tiny scenes relate to each other, and hopefully add up to a larger landscape that is "DINO-mite"!

can literally NEVER
resist a diabolical pun!

Happy Easter Bunnies

There are several adorable varieties of Eyelet Outlet bunny brads, including Pastel Rabbits and Chocolate Bunnies but the realistic looking Rabbit Brads might just be my (Lauren) favorite!

I use my nested dies most often to cut perfect circles which I then attach to whatever project I'm making. But it's just as easy to use them to create negative space, like these layered windows which frame up my adorable Rabbit Brads. I punched strips of grass in a couple shades of green for the bunnies to hide behind, then added some Mini Stitched Flowers and a Mini Butterfly to complete the scene. A strip of Pink Bunny Washi Tape dresses up the top layer of my card and a simple typed sentiment finishes it off.

I hope you'll be inspired to use your favorite dies in fun new ways!
