Time to Cuddle Up!

It's the perfect time to cuddle up!  I had a wonderful time creating this cozy little scene with my Eyelet Outlet products.  I started with some wide brick washi tape for the background.  Then I used one of our watch brads for the face of the grandfather clock.  Snug in the chair is a sweet sleepy kitten brad.  A stack of books on the floor next to the chair and one of our campfire brads from the camping set.

I wish I could climb into that comfy chair by the fire right now, but sadly, this craft room isn't going to clean itself!  See you next week, crafters!

Social Distancing

Today's card is something a bit different for me.....we are living in fast-changing times with an unexpected virus that we are all dealing with in some way or another.  I am intrigued by the new words we have learned quickly in the last few months all related to the virus.   This card is called "Social Distancing".

The CDC definition for Social Distancing is highlighted on the card and my depiction of such is created by using the detailed Eyelet Outlet animal brads (see list below), a Black Jewel (for doorknob), and Yellow Skinny Washi Tape.  Today when we leave our homes, we find the yellow tape, red tape, or even black lines painted on the sidewalk instructing us where to stand while waiting in line.  Other card materials used include the Penny Black 'Slapstick Houses' stamp set.

This card is card 1 of a 6 card series.  Each week another 'new' word is highlighted and the Eyelet Outlet brads and more are there to create the scene.  Head on over to the Eyelet Outlet Site and pick up brads, bling, and more to create your scene cards!

"Many Paws"

Hi!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards.

I thought the Kitty Brads would work perfectly with this cute sentiment.  They've made themselves right at home on this comfy chair doing double duty as an easel card.

Here's a closer look at the kitties.

And an even closer look.

Being a woman "of a certain age" myself, this sentiment and card just make me smile!

Beautiful Ride

It's Kim from Katydid Cards!  Happy to be here with you today.

Today I'm sharing a card made using the Kitty Brads, Book Brads, Stitched Flower Brads, and Mini Bee Brads.  And I have to say, I think the combination is just adorable and puts a smile on my face.  I'm going to have a difficult time giving this one away ;-).

I the kitty, flower, and bee brads as staples in my collection as they work so well when creating scenes on my cards.  I'm also sure to keep the Sun & Cloud Brads, Puppy Brads, Candle Brads and several more on hand.

The kitties and books are sitting on a Simon Says Stamp coordinating stamp & die set called, "Beautiful Ride".    Those kitties look so comfy, don't they?  I colored the image with Copic markers and sponged inside the wheels so it blended better with the background.

Speaking of the background, the card base is cut from Bashful Blue cardstock and embossed with the Cloudy Day embossing folder.  The grass has been cut from Cucumber Crush cardstock using a cut file purchased in the Silhouette store.  Here's a closer look at the brads.

And here's the inside of the card where I continued the sentiment with another little kitty for good measure.  I created it combining Angelina and Alex Brush fonts, color matched to the cardstock for a tone on tone look.

I hope you liked my card.  I'll see you soon with another new project.

A Cat in a Jungle of Small Bushes

Cats have attitude. They can love you, and ignore you at the same time. They can decide you are their best friend and rub up against your leg while purring contentedly, or they can bear their claws while hissing. One never knows for sure what to expect with a cat.

Yes, cats definitely have attitude,
which is why I like the saying on my card so much.
A cat is a lion in a jungle of small bushes.

Eyelet Outlet products that I used on this card include two Kitty Brads, three different designs of skinny Washi Tape, a bit of Green Jewel Bling Strip (which I just have to say is a REAL BARGAIN at only $1.50 for 500 jewels!).

Be sure to check out the amazing assortment of items at Eyelet Outlet soon. A lot of items are on sale, which makes it an even better place to shop.

Washi Washi Wonderful

If you have some Eyelet Outlet Washi Tape, you're just minutes away from making your own custom background papers.

I start with scraps of paper (in this case, ivory cardstock) and cover it with rows of washi (vertical, horizontal, diagonal ... your choice) starting in the middle and moving outward alternating sides.

I use my non-stick sheet and extend the tape beyond the scrap so I can trim the sides to get a nice even finish.

For the first card I used this adorable Cat Love Washi Tape that has a vertical design.
The tape coordinates perfectly with the Kitty Brads.

My layout features this week's CAS(E) this Sketch together with a Paper Smooches Charmed Cat Two sentiment.

The next one used Awesome Washi Tape paired with a new Water Bottle Brad.

Layout is from Can You CASE it? and stamps are from Simon Says Stamp Running with Your Heart.

And the final card features the fabulous Book Washi Tape.  When I finished covering the paper, it felt like a Harry Potter Library ... so that is the theme I used.

I cut my tape-covered paper into three equal panels using a sketch from Try Stampin' - or Not - on Tuesday.

I added a Sketched Owl Brad & Compass Brad and computer generated my sentiment.  I think it will be a great graduation card.
