My Circus, My Monkeys

When I got back into my craft room today I reflected on all of the holiday fun that filled my home this past week.  At times the preparations of cooking, decorating, and gift wrapping felt like a circus, so that must be what inspired today's make!

I used images from Cricut's Circus Time and Carousel image sets for this card as well as a fun fold technique from my friend, Jooniper Parker.  These cuts paired so great with Eyelet Outlet's Popcorn and Ticket Brads!

Inside, the Monkey brads from the Eyelet Outlet Jungle Mix brad set (which also includes elephants and giraffes) finished off my card perfectly!

Our holidays were amazing and I had more fun than I can explain with my "monkeys!"  Thanks for coming by today!

Wishing You A REELY Happy Birthday!

I hadn't made a box card in a while and forgot just how much fun they can be to make and receive!  This movie themed box card was especially fun to make with the help of Cricut's Movie Night cartridge and the amazing Movie Themed Brads from Eyelet Outlet! 

I also used a cute movie themed digital paper from Huckleberry Hearts.  

Eyelet Outlet Ticket and Popcorn brads and Film Strip Washi Tape were a great addition to this card, too! The Ticket Washi Tape would have worked wonderfully as well, but I forgot I had that on hand!  Could that mean I have too much Washi Tape?  No!  Never!

The thing I love most about card making is the ability to personalize and by adding some text and using Print Then Cut on this movie clapboard, I was able to do just that!

Movie Night?

Today I'm using Eyelet Outlet Washi Tape & Brads for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch!

I used two colors (and widths) of Glitter Washi Tape to create the top portion of my card and then added some Film Strip Ribbon between the sections.

I used four different movie-themed brads matted on black & silver circles.  The "Movie Night?" sentiment was printed, and the purple stamped sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays Coffee Talk.

Do you have a favorite movie snack?  I love Milk Duds with my warm Popcorn.

DIY Mini Brads Clips w/ Video

Ever have just one or two little brads left over from a pack and not sure what to do with them?  Here is a fun little embellishment you can make for your papercrafts using mini clothespins.  I use them for all kind of projects and I thought how fun to add a little something to the end to make them into character clips for planners, cards, mini albums, and so much more!

The fun clips are easy and use supplies you probably have in your stash!  Here is a video tutorial on how to make these fun little clips!

These little clips are a fun way to use up your stash of left over brads and turn them into some cute and fun!

They easily clip into a little planner, traveling notebook, or mini book to help see your place.  Seeing them all lines up in a little book is just too cute!

Monster Movie Night!

Hello again, Eyelet Outlet fans! I (Lauren) recently acquired an envelope maker, and I *love* making custom envelopes. The gift-card size is especially cool, because you can make a card and envelope that not only MATCH, but coordinate with the theme of the gift card; which, in this case, is for a movie theater. And who better to act as spokesmodels for movie night than our very own Eyelet Outlet Monster Brads! (Please note: the only thing scary about these guys is how cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute they are; but they think they're terrifying, so be a sport and go along with it for the length of the post, ok? Thanks.)

Double-sided paper is great for envelopes, but in this case, the reverse was plain, so I "lined" the inside of the envelope with Admit One Ticket Washi, which I applied before constructing the envelope. (If you don't have an envelope maker, this website has FREE templates for many different sizes, including giftcard.)

I wrapped another strip around the outside to give two of the adorable... (ahem!) ...I mean ferocious monsters a place to stand. Movie actors need dialog, obviously, for which I used my vintage typewriter; and they're STARS, so I diecut a few from plain cardstock with Glitter Black Washi.

These guys are *ALWAYS* ready for a closeup, lol!

The card coordinates with the envelope, naturally, but also features a few strips of Road Washi Tape, as well as some Popcorn and Ticket Brads.

I find the Purple Monsters are especially adorable... errrrrrr, I mean fierce! 

And very frightening! ♥

Don't you love the fun colors in the Photo Inspiration at Addicted to Stamps and More.

I immediately wanted to break-out my Popcorn Brads and have some fun.

I started building my design using this week's Freshly Made Sketch.  

My original thought was to use *Date Night* as my sentiment, but when I found this Sweet Stamp Shop sentiment in my stash, it made me giggle (and have flashbacks to high school), so I used it.

These popcorn brads are just so fun.  I also incorporated swirl bling, enamel dots and my favorite ... glitter enamel dots.

They come in lots of fun colors (like the red & blue you see here).

My Right Kind of Weird

Have you checked out the new collection of flat-backed resin embellishments ... so many possibilities.

I couldn't resist these cute little pandas.  I paired them with a Unity Stamp Company Panda (he looks like he's pouting because he can't climb up the bamboo ... pretty much how I looked every time we had to climb the rope in grade school gym class).  Sentiment is Unity too.

I embossed kraft cardstock with my bamboo embossing folder and then used the direct-to-paper technique with my green ink pad.  It's really easy to attach the resin using glue dots.

I also couldn't resist designing with these cute little monkeys.  I had the perfect sentiment from So Suzy Stamps (you know you think this at least once a week).

I thought the popcorn & ticket brads were perfect to represent the Circus ... I embellished with a few sequins.

I added a tiny bit of bling to the flowers on those cute little monkey and embellished with some floral sequins.
