Silver Bells

I love beating the summer heat by chilling in my airconditioned craft room creating my annual Christmas cards. Christmas in July ideas abound on social media this month, so I'm joining the fun.

I've been on the Eyelet Outlet Design Team for a quite a while and these beautiful bell brads have been around even longer, but for some reason, I had never used them in a project before until recently! Last week I showed you the gold ones and today I'm featuring the silver ones in a pretty holiday card.

I used a music digital paper with hues of blue for the frame and I thought it looked so pretty against the dark blue background. I used white glitter card stock for the snow at the base of the card. On the street light I used an Eyelet Outlet wreath brad, and atop the pretty silver bells is a holly brad. And of course, since I was singing this pretty classic Christmas song as I worked, a music note brad seemed an obvious choice.

Turn On The Music!

One thing I like so much about Eyelet Outlet is that you can find brads to fit any theme. Case in point is today's music card which features Record Brads and Music Note Brads that tie in perfectly with the ephemera piece I chose to use.

To make my card, I also used two washi tapes. I used Flower Summer Washi for the outside border. The interior piece is made of strips of Green Pattern Washi Tape. The color of this washi tape happened to beautifully match the record album and also compliments the ephemera piece by adding a touch of femininity. I also made a white cardstock frame which I popped up on foam tape.

Once that was complete, I added two Record Brads and two Music Note Brads. The final touch is two green Glitter Enamel Dots. Perfection!

Thanks for stopping by today. I'll see you next week but until then please visit the EO store for all your brads, washi tape, bling and paper flowers!

Happy Birthday Texas!

In honor of Texas Independence Day on March 2, I created a Texas themed banner featuring many Eyelet Outlet products. March 2nd is actually my birthday, too, but I'm not quite as old as Texas who will be celebrating 189 years!

I used a white star brad on the first pendant and our sunflower brads on the boots pendant. I was inspired to create this project by our soon-to-be-released yellow roses which I paired with a mini leaf brad, music note brad and yellow enamel heart.

I paired one of our cactus brads with a horse brad for the ranch pendant and added some heart brads for the next one. The great state of Texas is famous for our beautiful wild flowers. The flower washi tape I used on the background of the last pendant reminded me of our state flower, the bluebonnet.

Thanks for stopping by and helping me wish Texas a very happy birthday!

Just a Note

Hello EO fans! I hope you've had a great week. I'm here today with a thinking of you card. I made it for a friend who is having a few health problems right now and I hope this gave his spirits a lift.

On the front, I created a background with patterned cardstock and then I stamped, colored, and cut out the envelope and bird image. I added it to the front and then embellished with EO flower brads, Music Note brads, and Mini Bee Brads. I used Corner Brads in the upper corners and I also added black enamel dots to the bottom corner.

You Rock!

Today I've made a valentine that celebrates the rocker. This card is shaped like a vinyl record. The jacket is decorated with Record Brads and Music Note Brads. The patterned background is created with strips of Music Washi and Instrument Washi Tape.

Inside the decorated record jacket, a record shaped card is decorated with Heart Enamel Shapes. Inside the card, I added an additional strip of Music Washi Tape for some extra interest.

This card was cut with a pattern from the Silhouette Store. It was easy to make and super cute!

Birthday Fiesta!

It's fiesta time today and it's easy to celebrate with the new Piñata Brads. They combine perfectly with Cocktail Brads, Fresh Flowers Bright Brads, Lemonade and Fruit Brads, and Music Note Brads. Although I didn't use them, the Cactus Brads would work nicely with this grouping as well.

I made this by first stamping the sentiment and mouse. I also stamped the colorful banner. Then I used the brads to decorate and enhance the panel. It's a very colorful and happy way to celebrate someone's birthday.

Drive-In Theater - Baby You Can Drive My Car

Are you nostalgic about drive-in movie theaters like I am? I am a child of the 80s and movie drive-ins were still alive and well, barely, when I was a teenager. I sure had fun going to many late night movies and staying for the dusk to dawn movie run. Usually there were three movies but I can’t say I made it to the third too often although I tried!

Today I’m celebrating that by-gone experience with a pre-printed card from my computer. I printed the image twice and cut out extra pieces of the car and sign and layered them up with foam tape to give it a handmade and dimensional touch. I have used many Eyelet Outlet products to decorate my card which celebrates all things to do with drive-in movie theaters and the cars we turned into the best seats in the house!

Hopefully, you recognize the song title in my card. Since it is a song, I needed to add some Music Note Brads. I also use the brand new Driving Brads. The steering wheel shape is a lot of fun. I couldn’t resist also using the Palm Tree Brads to accentuate the setting sun. The movie sign was decorated with EO Popcorn Ticket Brads, and Movie Brads.

Here’s a list of all the brads I used for this card:

Start The Music

I guess I have a song in my heart lately, because I've got a music themed card for you two weeks in a row!

I've wanted to make this little xylophone for a while now and finally got around to it.  It's a Cricut image and I've used colorful Eyelet Outlet round brads from the summer brad mix to hold it together.  Keeping with my colorful theme, I added some enamel hearts and I used a round enamel dot on the instrument's stick.  The bottom right corner was begging for a music note brad, so I obliged!

See you next week, when I'll be starting my Christmas in July posts!

A "Note" of Thanks

I've seen and admired piano cards on Pinterest in the past, but have never tried making one until now.  I recently learned how to make a side edge card in Cricut Design Space and while browsing Eyelet Outlet's Washi Tapes the other day, this idea came to me!

I used the side edge technique to create the top of the grand piano and this great music washi tape for the keyboard.  Of course what music themed card would be complete without some Eyelet Outlet music note brads?  Black and white color palettes always appeal to me, but after seeing Designer Lauren's wonderful posts this past week of Eyelet Outlet Rainbow cards, I decided to add an accent color and pulled purple mini stitched flowers and a purple enamel heart along with a black enamel heart to the sentiment.

I hope this project put a song in your heart today!

For The Record

For the record, I think all the Eyelet Outlet products are great, but I've always been attracted to our vinyl record brads. There are 45's (small ones) and LP's (bigger ones) in the package and of course, they pair great with our music note brads.

It was quite a few years ago, but I fondly remember my first record player which looked a lot like the one I've used on this card.  This one is a Cricut image and so is the neat little border that I thought looked like records.  I substituted the 'O' in the text with one of the record brads and added a few more along side the record player and a few music note brads finished it off nicely.

More Alphabetical Brads?

I (Lauren) have completed the third section in my Brad Alphabet book, covering the letters M through P; which comprises four new pages, featuring twenty-seven Eyelet Outlet brads in twenty different styles!

For the letter M, we've got: a trio of mischievous Monkeys from the Jungle Mix; a Mask from the Co-Vid themed Mask, Hand Sanitizer and Soap set; the Mailbox from our Mail Brads; a Mower from the Lawnmower set; and a handsome Moose Brad.

Representing the letter N: a Nutcracker, some (Music) Notes; an Anchor Brad (which I've re-named "Navy"; yes, I've allowed a bit of artistic license with descriptions, so that I'd have enough brads to cover the entire alphabet!); a stack of Novels (technically they are Book Brads); and a Compass Brad is covering Navigation.

The letter O includes: an Oven Glove from our Cooking Brad set; some Ornaments; a (Sketched) Owl Brad(we've got really cute colorful owls, as well); an Oak (at least I think it looks like an oak) which is part of the Summer Tree Brads; and a Onesie which technically falls under Baby Shirt, and alas the blue ones are out of stock.

For the sixteenth letter of the alphabet... aka P: a pair of pretty cool Penguins; a festive Party Hat; a slightly unseasonal Pumpkin; Popcorn from the Popcorn and Ticket set; and a Pig from our Pig and Sheep Brads.

My bookring is filling up really nicely with ATC's and I still have TEN letters to go; though when we get to Q, X and Z one suspects there will be a bit of doubling up!

I hope you'll be inspired to check out the wide variety of Eyelet Outlet Brads, I'm pretty sure we've got one or two styles that will be perfect for your next project!

is still having fun
with this idea!

Hello?

Ever since I got the new Eyelet Outlet Toilet Paper and Tissue Brad set, I have been humming this old Lionel Richie tune to myself. I finally turned it into a card for you today.

As usual, EO has the perfect brads for this card including the Music Note Brads. The notes work so well on many cards. I'm constantly use them!

The window flap on this is easy to make yourself. You do this by aligning your top die cut plate to end on the die where you want the cut to stop. There's no pressure on the die once it is rolled to that area and the cut ends. If you've not heard of this before it's called partial die cutting. There are many videos you can find on YouTube showing this if you search for that term.

I hope you have a great Super Bowl Sunday!

Happy Birthday To You

By now we've all learned the CDC's recommendation to ensure proper hand washing,.  We should wash for as long as it takes to sing "Happy Birthday" twice.  So if you can't be with your special someone on their birthday, you can at least let them know you'll be thinking of them as you wash your hands!

This stair-step fold card was created with several great Eyelet Outlet products including our brand new soap brad from the Mask, Hand Sanitizer & Soap Brad Set.   I've also used the faucet from the Pipe Brad  set, the Music Note Brad, as well as some tear drop bling in blue and clear.

Thanks for stopping in today.  Be well and enjoy the day!

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree!

My husband was a DJ back in the 60's and there's nothing he enjoys more than listening to his record collection on his 50+ year old jukebox!

Eyelet Outlet products were just the right thing to help me wrap his Christmas gift in an extra special way!

The jukebox is from Cricut's Nifty Fifties image set and I used Eyelet Outlet record brads, and music notes to embellish this slider.  I also used various sizes and colors of Eyelet Outlet enamel dots to adorn the Christmas tree.

Pretty sure he's going to love this!

Thanks for stopping by!  We'd love to see how you've used our products in your holiday wrapping!  Join us at Eyelet Outlet Fans on Facebook!

Happy Sunday Eyelet Outlet Fans! I hope you've had a great weekend so far. For the US fans, you probably have given your stomach and your body a good workout over Thanksgiving and then decorating for Christmas and the holiday season. It was nice to take a break during all the hubub yesterday to reflect and make a card to remind me of the Reason For The Season.

The background of this card was created by placing Silver Glitter Washi Tape on the edges of an A2 card base. Then I placed the corrogated piece on top. Here's a upcycling tip I learned from Carol Duval when I was a wee one (LOL!). Use a liner from a light bulb box! Works perfectly and they tend to be either a nice white or natural color like this one. The city scene is made from two identical Heartfelt Creation die cuts that I cut and stacked to appear as if it were on a hill. I used a few pieces of foam tape for some of the cuts for added dimension as well. I nestled in two Palm Tree Brads and then started decorating the rest of the card.

Around the scroll (Heartfelt Creations), I placed the Snowflake Bling-1 1/2" Size and two of the Music Note Brads. To accent the scroll image, I cut single bling apart from Red Strip Jewel Bling. I'm always amazed at how a few Eyelet Outlet Products can take a card from good to great with just a little bit of effort!

Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy you Sunday and I'll see you again next week!

You Rock!

Remember the good old days of records and record players? I was a teen in the 80's so I am old enough to remember buying my favorite albums before cassettes came into favor with the Walkman. Wow! That'll take you back won't it? This card features the fantastic Record - Vinyl Brad Set. This set is awesome for any music themed project.

I printed the album graphic on glossy photo paper. Using photo papers to print graphics has become one of my favorite things to do recently. The printouts are so clear and bright. The vintage record player stamp comes from this past year's retro holiday card kit from Hero Arts. Honestly, I could have done without it but it was fun to color it up. The sentiment is heat embossed with a sparkle black powder. I love the shine but it was hard to capture in the photo. I stamped the music notes but Eyelet Outlet has a Music Notes Brad Set that I don't yet own. Those would have been even better on this card. The red, white and blue cardstock is from DCWV and called Tie-Dyed Stack.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a rockin' and rollin' kind of day!

For the Record

Eyelet Outlet Record Brads, that is! They're the newest release in the EO Store and bound to be a big hit if you ask me (Lauren)! Here are a couple of cards I made:

As often happens, I had two ideas. In this case one was pretty minimal and one was... ummmmm... not, lol. Let's start with the maximalist version: A long sentiment made of Dymo labels and foam stickers, with the O's swapped out in favor of the larger Record Brads, with a few extra large and small records scattered about, and a band of Skinny Tape at the top and bottom.

And here's the minimalist take: shorter sentiment, but again the Record Brads stand in for the O's in "You Rock". In addition to scattering a few more records, I've added some Music Note Brads and some tiny red Star Sequins over a few stenciled stars.

When you can't decided between two ideas, why not MAKE BOTH! I promise, we have plenty of Eyelet Outlet Brads for you to experiment with!

is old enough to know that
the Big Records are LP's or albums
and the small ones are 45's or singles.
(& YES she had tons of both Back in the Day!)

You Rock!

I'm excited to show you a project today that features Eyelet Outlet's newest brad!  We now have records in the Eyelet Outlet store - both LP's and 45's, so let's get ready to ROCK!

My Cricut machine was instrumental in creating this card.  I started out with two sound wave image from Cricut's Sound Wave image set and two 5" x 3 1/2" rectangles on my design canvas.  First, I centered then sliced a sound wave image into one of the rectangles. I added my sentiment to this rectangle, omitting the "O" in "Rock," since my record brad was going to serve that purpose.  On the second rectangle, I centered and attached the sound wave image, setting the image to draw rather than cut, ending up with two rectangles looking like this:

Next it was time for the skinny washi tape!  Eyelet Outlet has oodles of colors and patterns, but I stuck to the solids in a rainbow of colors.

Using the drawn lines of the sound wave, I was able to apply my washi tape exactly where it needed to be and then I adhered the two rectangles together and applied my record brad as well as some Eyelet Outlet music note brads for a finishing touch!

Thanks for stopping in and enjoy the day with those you love!
