Silver Bells

I love beating the summer heat by chilling in my airconditioned craft room creating my annual Christmas cards. Christmas in July ideas abound on social media this month, so I'm joining the fun.

I've been on the Eyelet Outlet Design Team for a quite a while and these beautiful bell brads have been around even longer, but for some reason, I had never used them in a project before until recently! Last week I showed you the gold ones and today I'm featuring the silver ones in a pretty holiday card.

I used a music digital paper with hues of blue for the frame and I thought it looked so pretty against the dark blue background. I used white glitter card stock for the snow at the base of the card. On the street light I used an Eyelet Outlet wreath brad, and atop the pretty silver bells is a holly brad. And of course, since I was singing this pretty classic Christmas song as I worked, a music note brad seemed an obvious choice.

An Angel Gets Its Wings

I love old movies and the 1946 holiday classic, "It's A Wonderful Life," is one of my favs! So to continue with my "Christmas in July" series, here's a Christmas card that pays tribute to that film.

I did the sentiment for this card with gold foil iron-on, which I applied to my cardstock with my Cricut Easy Press.  I added an Eyelet Outlet holly brad and gold bell. The wonderful little angel brads were perfect and the one on he left is flying near a cloud brad.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to put some angel brads in your cart as you're planning your holiday cards.

Snowy Christmas

Hi EO fans! Happy September 1st! Hard to believe we are now officially in the beginning of all isn't it? Today, I'm back with another holiday card. I just can't help myself because I'm so enamored with the new Angel Brads! For this card I've made a snow globe scene with one of the angels hovering above a church scene. Also in the globe are Deer and Tree-Retro Brads. I also added White Snowflake Bling. In the rest of the card, I covered the "ground" with Sparkle White Glitter Washi Tape. I made a bow and cut out the sentiment and attached them both to the card. Then I embellished with another Angel Brad and two Bell Brads

Have you started your holiday card making yet? I send about 50 of them each year so I have to start early or I won't have them done in time. So - one more to get me to my goal made easy with Eyelet Outlet products.

Jingle Bells!

Can you hear the bells ringing yet? It's almost Christmas and today I'm celebrating with a card that celebrates many iconic Christmas icons. The great news is that there's so much to choose from at Eyelet Outlet!

On my card I've included bell brads hanging from the sentiment. At the bottom of the card, Santa & Mrs. Claus brads are surrounded with Snow Tree Brads. On top, I've added a Sleigh Brad and a deer from the Santa & Deer Brads. The red background couldn't be simpler since it was created with strips of Ho Ho Let It Snow Washi Tape. Yes, indeed! Christmas is coming!

Caroling Christmas Easel Card

We are doing another cute Christmas card this week.  Although I have quite a few cards I send out to friends and family, I always try to make a different card for each person.  Now that I have Eyelet Outlet in my life, it is so easy to make a simple card like this, look like I spent hours on it.

I layered the front of this easel card in red and green cardstock and embossed the red cardstock with a festive, almost embroidered look. I added Black Bling to the embossing as look like the little centers of flowers.

The large sentiment is die cut from green glitter foam with a white shadow layer underneath.

In the upper corner, is a beautiful, sparkly snowflake from the Snowflake Bling and in the bottom corner are two of the cutest little carolers from the Caroler Brads.

Once you open the card, you will see the sparkle from the Black Glitter Washi Tape and the two beautiful holiday Bell Brads that offset the cute sentiment on the inside.

As easy as this card was to make, it looks like it took a long time. By adding cute embellishments, you can step up your card making game, too!

Have a wonderful week and always be STRATE-UP CRAFTY!

Tis the Season

Halloween is over and that means the Holidays are fast approaching! My favorite time of the year is now through the new year.

When you love Eyelet Outlet products like I do, you are always thinking about how they can be used to upscale stamps and dies. Here I used a set I recently got from Spellbinders to create a pretty wreath. It makes a great wreath but I think you'll agree that it so much better with the brads and bling I added to it!

I used two circle dies to cut a donut shape out of white glitter cardstock and then I cut and arranged all the basic wreath pieces using brown and three shades of green. I also cut and put together the bow. Then I added Bell Brads, Poinsettia Brads, Candy Cane Brads and Holly Brads to the wreath. I perched a female and male cardinal on the bow and added red Jewel Bling from the multi-pack. To create a stopper for my easel card, I added Green Cut Jewels to a red glitter border. I adhered a pre-printed foiled sentiment, "Tis The Season," which spreads across the wreath. All in all, this turned out even better than I expected!

I hope you enjoyed my card and I thank you for stopping by today. Please visit the store for all your brads, washi tape, bling and paper flowers!

Congratulations to the Bride & Groom!

Wedding season is upon us! Do you need a congratulatory card to give to the happy couple? I hope this idea inspires you!

I started with a 6x6 kraft card stock base and created a "road" using the black glitter washi tape! I stamped and fussy cut my car adding foam tape to elevate the getaway car and the "best day" tag. I added the adorable soda cans from the new collection called drink cooler brads with twine for extra fun! And the round jewel brads in white made for great, sparkly headlights. Lastly for my sentiment banner, I embossed "Congratulations" in silver and added the wedding bells in silver and gold!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to shop at Eyelet Outlet for your crafting needs!

Christmas Beauty by Janet

Sometimes you see one of those premade blocks in a paper pad and you just can't help but add some pretty brads and bling to it! This background comes from a paper pad from the Michael's Hot Buy paper pad category. It's called Say Freeze.

It was already beautiful and the perfect size to add some holiday brads and bling to from the Eyelet Outlet store. It took the piece from pretty to extra special! I double-mounted it on card stock. So pretty and a perfect start to my holiday card stash!

Ugly Sweater Party

We call them "ugly" but there is something totally fun and festive about Holiday Sweaters, especially in card form; and Instant Holiday Sweater Awesomeness can be achieved just by adding Eyelet Outlet Holiday Brads!

These particular sweaters are fussy-cut from a Photoplay patterned paper, but this idea would work with any sweater-shaped stamps, dies or SVG files; or swap for t-shirts if you live in a warmer climate! I chose to make mini-slimline cards with three sweaters across, but again, you could make a grid with LOTS of sweaters, or go clean-and-simple and add just a single one to each card.

My first card features a Candy Cane Brad, a Holiday Light and a Pine Tree; the latter makes another appearance on card #2, along with a Snowflake and an (on sale!Ornament Brad.

The third card sports a Bell Brad (also on sale!) a handsome Snowman and one of this year's brand new styles a Gift Brad.

There are lots more fun holiday brad styles in the Eyelet Outlet store, why not hop over and take a peek!

Wedding Wishes

Hi, folks!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards.

June, the time for weddings!  And for the wedding and bridal shower cards, too.  Here's a shower card made with three of Eyelet Outlet's latest brad releases; the Wedding Brads (Ring and Champagne Glass) and the Dress Brads.

I made a gatefold card with soft colors and patterns which served as the perfect backdrop for the brads.  The alternating banners make for a unique opening.

A closer look at the brads reveals I added some Jewel Bling for the diamond with some additional bling around the "bubbly".  The dress brad comes in an assortment of colors, but I wanted my bride to wear white.  Fortunately, these brads take heat embossing like a champ.  After I attached the dress to the banner, I tucked a tiny bit of tulle as the veil with another jewel for the headpiece.

Inside, the Silver Bell Brads were just the right accompaniment to the sentiment.

After the shower come the nuptials and here's my second card helping to celebrate the big day.  In addition to the same Bell Brads in Gold this time, I used the Cross Brads, Glitter Gold Enamel Dots, and Color Wheel Washi Tape as my "stained glass" window.  The roof and doors were covered with Chalk Board Washi Tape.

The front doors open to reveal the greeting.

And here's the inside of the card.

After the wedding, there's the reception!  And it wouldn't be complete without a wedding cake.  Here's my 3D version using the Fancy Long Bling with Pearls and Jewels.  There are those Bells again together with the Glitter Dot Washi.

The used the Glitter Washi as my color inspiration and even tinted the Pearls in the bling using Copic markers.  They take color beautifully.

When you're thinking weddings, think Eyelet Outlet for not only cards but decorations, favors, wrapping and scrapbook layouts to capture the memories.

I hope you enjoyed these wedding cards...see you next week with something new!

Christmas Card Trio

Brads make any Christmas card a little extra-special.

I started with simple holiday stickers and added brads to each one to *kick-it-up-a-notch*.  This one uses this week's Sunday Stamps Sketch.  I added some of my favorite glitter enamel dots (that work perfectly with my glitter paper) and a sentiment sticker.

I loved how the tree brad fit right over the tree riding on top of the car ... oh the memories wandering through the tree farm to find that perfect tree (and then it seldom fitting when we got home).

For my next one I added a Santa Hat Brad to make my Christmas Cardinal just a little more festive.

And my final one this week is a variation on the Sunday Stamps Sketch all decked in gold with a lovely ornament and warm woolen mittens.

Make sure you add some extra brads and bling to your holiday cards this year.

Easy Thank You Cards

What comes after Christmas Cards ... why Thank You Cards of course.

I found this package of textured thank you cards with a simple copper embossed sentiment in the $1.50 bin at Michael's, and I knew I could use Eyelet Outlet products to make them special.

I started by adding a single brad ... that's all it takes to make a simple card special.  How fun is this cute little Gnome Brad standing on top of the *k*.

This adorable little Bear Brad wearing a cute winter hat makes for a fun thank you as well.

Or maybe you have a few leftover Christmas Brads like this lovely Poinsettia, which are the perfect embellishment for Christmas Gift Thank You Cards.

I really love how the shape of the Holly Brad wraps around the sentiment.

Since the sentiment is copper embossed, I used some gorgeous Copper Dots Foil Washi Tape, which coordinated perfectly (it's kind of hard to photograph with all of that metallic shine).

If a single brad is great ... than a pair of Holiday Mitten Brads is even better.

Or how about some elegant golden Bell Brads.

And the final card is super-fancy with a little champagne bling swirl.

And remember, you don't have to score a set of thank you cards from the bargain bin to make this idea work ... stamping a simple sentiment or even using a sticker on a plain card base because extra special when you add embellishments.
