Cozy Fall Vibes

This sweet bear has postponed hibernation in order to enjoy all the coziest parts of autumn. She's got plenty to read, thanks to Eyelet Outlet Book Tape and Book Brads; a yarncraft project, thanks to our Knitting Brads; even a Tissue Brad in case of a few sniffles. This card also sports Script Tape and Clock Washi, for a background that's simple, without being plain.

Thinking Of You

Talk about a fun card to create this week's creation for Eyelet Outlet is an adorable 4x4 specialty fold card made from using mostly different types and styles of washi tape.

The front of the card has four different types of washi tape as the base which include the Script Flower Washi Tape, the Bee Washi Tape, the Red Foil Washi Tape and the Flower Washi Tape where I hand-cut the roses and placed them on for movement. The focal point of the front of the card is made by using the Script Flower Washi Tape washy tape and one of the little girls from the Girl Washi Tape cut out and highlighted with the red border. A sweet sentiment was added along with several Jewel Strips - Black and 12mm Bling Jewels in Black on the front.

When you open the card, you get a flash of sparkle from the Red Swirl Bling
and the three Jewel Strips - Black that are sitting on top of the Floral Washi Tape
 pocket.

Sitting inside that pocket, is the cutest little card made from Script Flower Washi Tape  as the base and a hand cut red rose from the Flower Washi Tape as the focal point. I tied a black and white ribbon on the side and bejeweled this piece with several Jewel Strips - Black.

As you can see, many of the colors on this card were made strictly by using washi tape, so it does not matter what colors, types, or styles of card stock you have on hand, if you have a selection of washi tape from Eyelet Outlet, you are able to create a beautiful and unique greeting card at any moment.

Fall Sweet Fall

The new Autumn 2023 Eyelet Outlet Fall Brads have hit the online store and in addition to super-festive Pinata Brads and beautiful Sugar Skulls there's also an Acorn and Squirrel set that I couldn't help but FALL for! On this card, the sweet squirrel  as collected a few Acorns and is resting beneath a diecut tree, from which a few Mini Leaf Brads are gently descending. The background is a combination of Script Washi and extra wide Leaf Washi that really sets the scene.

No matter what the season or the reason, Eyelet Outlet has all the embellishments you need to make YOUR next card!

looks forward to Autumn more each year!

Brads of a Feather Flock Together

Eyelet Outlet Bluebird and Robin Brads are a fine addition to pretty much ANY card, but when teamed with a sweet set of birdhouse dies, cut from our Wood Washi they have literally found the perfect home. Sun and Cloud Brads set the scene, a bright blue Heart Enamel adds another pop of color and Script Tape makes an excellent mat.

This design could easily be adapted to make a lovely Valentine OR an anniversary greeting, and there are lots more embellishments perfect for either in the Eyelet Outlet Store.

loves to watch the birds in her back yard!

Framing Fall

When I (Lauren) saw this awesome Frame Washi in the Eyelet Outlet Online Store I couldn't wait to use it to show off a little collection of my favorite brads. Since we're heading into September and  looking forward to all things autumnal, a collection of Fall Brads, like ScarecrowsSunflowersApplesLeaf Brads and Mini Leaves seemed appropriate. Of course, with so many leaves, I needed the Rake from the Lawnmower Set (which is on sale!); and then I couldn't resist adding Sun and Cloud BradsButterflies and Mini Ladybugs aren't specifically autumnal, but the colors work nicely together, don't you think? A few strips of Script Tape set off the Frame cluster really well; and as a finishing touch, it's hard to beat a scattering of golden orange Sequins.

What's your favorite thing about autumn? Because I bet we have EO Brads and Tapes that will work perfectly!

is looking forward to Fall!

Gulls Just Wanna Have Fun

Eyelet Outlet Seagull Brads, that is. And in this case, they're having their fun on two three-inch-square Inkbox Cards I (Lauren) made especially to hold them. I love that the Seagull Brads have two poses, so I decided they should each be the star of one card. And since I was dying to use my new softly metallic Ocean Tape, I'd pair it with Script Washi and some Glitter Skinny Tape to make a foreground for both.

The first card features the distance flying seagull up in the "sky" of the card and down on the washi tape beach I've clustered a Shell Corner Brad, as well as both the starfish and sand dollar from the Sea Shore Brad set.

The standing up seagull is the star of the second card, and he's standing next to a cluster of all three Shell Brads. I felt like it needed one more thing for balance, and you'd be surprised how often our Sun and Cloud Brads fit the bill on that score; which is why they are consistently on my "most used brads" list; along with Hearts and Snowflakes

It's Fall, Y'all!

I'm not sure that's possible, but my (Lauren's) calendar indicates we are into the LAST week of September somehow? This seems like a good time for some fall cards, especially since the new Scarecrow Brads have just made their debut in the Eyelet Outlet Store!

Here's a shocking true confession: I don't actually like scarecrows!!! But these Scarecrow Brads are so adorable, they've even won me over! Something else I realized as I sat down to make my first card... I had never used the Tractor Brads that came out in the spring release. So this seemed like a good time to remedy that. I like the way the Pumpkin Brad looks super huge when it's placed on the trailer. Just goes to show you what a good job those scarecrows did over the summer! I found some plaid patterned paper with exactly the right colors and diecut the word "FALL" from cardstock I had covered with this awesome Sparkle Copper Tape.

My second card features handcut letters from scraps of that plaid paper. But of course you could use stickers, diecuts or computer-generated text. The oversized text gave me so much extra room I was able to include all the brads from the first card PLUS a trio of Sunflower Brads! Oh and you'll notice that there are two color variations in the Tractor Brads!

My third card shows off the Sunflower Brads again, as well as another pumpkin, two varieties of Paper Flowers and some fun Hardwood Floor Tape; not to mention letters diecut from Script Washi.

You Must Be 21 or Older to Enjoy This Post

Just kidding! Hi guys, it's Lauren here with a couple of fun and slightly snarky birthday cards starring the brand new Eyelet Outlet Wine Brads (which feature bottles and glasses in both red and white) plus Grape Brads, which have red, green and purple grapes in each packet!

I've mentioned before that sometimes when I have two different ideas for a card, rather than trying to choose just one, I actually make them both. In this case, I wound up using two different sentiments, but I think you could easily interchange them. My first card is a bit more elegant, thanks to a scrap of pretty chandelier paper, gold metallic alphas, and some lovely newer tapes. I chose to emphasize the word "wine" by using larger letters and swapping out the "I" for one of the bottles in the Wine Brads set. Down in the corner, I added two glasses from the same set and a bunch of Grape Brads. I finished off with some gold foil XO Tape, as well as some Script Tape and Skinny Washi in a little cluster.

For my second card I again used a "half and half" sentiment, but this time the emphasized word is made with Foreign Text Chipboard Letters from my Etsy shop, Just Enough Stuff. Instead of swapping out a letter, I attached several bottles and a glass from the Wine Brads and bunch of Grape Brads directly to my oversized letters, which span the width of my landscape oriented A2 card. I like the funky vibe and especially that either card would work for a masculine or feminine birthday!

Contrary to my post title, you can actually buy Wine Brads --also Beer BradsCocktail Brads, and even Champagne Glasses in the Wedding Set-- at any age, so why not pop over to the Eyelet Outlet Store and see what delicious Beverage Brads are available?

Valentine, Je T'Aime!

Hi folks, it's Lauren again, here to show off a couple of Valentines with a French accent!

I love that Eyelet Outlet Eiffel Tower Brads come in two shades -bright silver and annodized copper- and that you get a mix of both in every packet. My first card features the silver, as well as one each of our Sun and Cloud Brads, to make a tiny landscape within a small heart shape. I've also added Heart Pearls to dot the I and J in "je t'aime" and two strips of Skinny Dot Washi Tape to set off the yellow cardstock panel.

But that's not to say I don't love the copper Eiffel Towers, as well! Here's one now, along with a Heart Brad, set against a carefully snipped panel of Wide Travel Washi, to show just the Parisian destination. My large heart panel was made by neatly lining up strips of Script Tape on plain white cardstock and then diecutting the result just like any other patterned paper.

There are so many cool ways to use Eyelet Outlet brads and tapes to make amazing and unique Valentines, I hope you'll stop by again soon to see what the design team is up to next! ♥

The New Super-Couple!

Don't worry, there are no Kardashians in this post. Just Kards... I mean cards! The super-couple to which I (Lauren) refer is the combination of Gina K Designs' Wreath Builder stamps and Eyelet Outlet brads. Because trust me, they are gooooooooooooood together. See?

It helps to have a stamp positioner. I suppose it's probably vital. And truly it's the thing that makes it not only possible to make awesome, unique cards this way-- but also really fun and slightly addictive! Then there are the brads, obviously.

My first card is built around our brand new Eyelet Outlet Apple Brads which come with both apples and cores. I used Gina K's Autumn Wreath Builder set to make a perfect home for them, with an appropriate sentiment from the same set.

The second card is still quite autumnal in feeling, but I've left it without a sentiment so that it could be a birthday, a thank you, or a get well; though naturally I hope not to need the latter anytime soon. I've added Daisy Flower BradsButterfly BradsMini Butterflies and Mini Ladybugs, as well as red and champagne Jewel Bling and a bit of Script Washi in the background.

My third card miiiiiiight be my favorite. Because one of our Gnomes is making use of a rake from the Lawn Mower Set in front of a Pumpkin with a background of softly falling Mini Leaf Brads! Boy would I love to have a gnome to do my leaf-raking in real life, but until that happens, I guess I'll just enjoy that in card form!

is in charge of the leaf-raking, lawn-mowing and hedge trimming
in her household; but has seldom cooked a meal in 33 years of marriage! :)

Message in a Bottle

Hi there.  It's Kim from Katydid Cards.

The calendar says it's officially Autumn, but here at the Jersey Shore, it's the very best time to walk on the beach.  With the weather still beautiful but fewer people out enjoying it, it's like having your own private beach.  It's on those walks you find little treasures the tide has brought in.  Something like this message in a bottle.

To create this scene, I used the Mail, Seagulls and Shell Brads and a combination of hand and machine cut components.  To add the white caps to the waves, I added some Marvy Snow Marker.

To create the bottle, I cut a piece of pale blue cardstock.  Then I created an offset of acetate to wrap around the cardstock and envelope brad.  I even popped a little cork in the top of the bottle.  It tucked between the two layers of "sand" perfectly.

Inside, on a mat of light blue, I added a strip of Script Washi Tape and another of the Mail brads with lots of room for a personal message.

I created another card celebrating the beach back in my early days as an Eyelet Outlet design team member.  Here's a link if you'd like to see it.
