Have A Koala-TY Birthday!

Today I've made a birthday card full of Koala-ty cuteness! I made this arch shaped A2 sized card with a birthday background stamp, starred vellum, and a Koala themed stamp set. I elevated it with all the fun brads that are birthday and koala themed. As a finishing touch, I added matte enamel dots in blue to the background.

Whisky & Water

Today is my turn to play with the new Liquor Bottles Brads. This is a tribute to my Uncle who loved his whisky and was also a true cowboy. The Horse & Pony Brads pair perfectly with the Whisky Bottles on this humorous card.

The sentiment on this came from Cricut Design Space. Since it is text on a relatively small space, I chose to cut it out with black vinyl and apply it to the card front. I made a border and punched out a scalloped oval to place the brads on. Then I added three Matte Finish Enamel Dots which worked beautifully here to balance the border.

Back to School

It is back to school time in many communities so I was looking
forward to making a "back to school" card using fun elements from
Eyelet Outlet. I found this cute image from
Tiddly inks so I was set to create.

I love the book brads from Eyelet Outlet so I headed
there first and then to the book washi tape. I tried to make sure that
I used the same same primary colors in the book
throughout the card. On the sides I added some black
matte jewels.

Here is your Eyelet Outlet Shopping List

Matte Finish Enamel Dots - black

You Make Me Happy

Happy Saturday Everyone!! I was feeling quite adventurous this week, so I decided to try a new card making technique for this week’s project.  This 6x6” front folding card was made by strategically cutting strips of cardstock and layering them to make a beautiful background.  And, the best part, I love how it turned out!  Not only do the 3-D pieces add dimension, but the serene color palate calms me and the inspirational sayings on each of the four tags make me smile…because YOU MAKE ME HAPPY.

The gorgeous rhinestone and pearl bling on the top and bottom of the card is called Fancy Long Bling – Pearls and Jewels from Eyelet Outlet, of course! My go-to for all things embellishment!! These add just the perfect amount of sparkle and sophistication the card needed.

Each one of the four inspirational tags have a different colored eyelet from the Brown Eyelet Mix punched into it to hold a ribbon along with Matte Pink Enamel Dots and White Pearl Bling in multiple sizes.

To finish the card off and keep with the serene theme, I decided to use a one-word embellishment which I cut into a flag end.

This is definitely one of my favorites so far! What do you think???

 Hope you enjoy!!

It's a family tradition...

Do you have family Christmas traditions?

With Christmas only days away, it is time to start our Christmas goodie baking! We love baking together and making memories as a family! I thought this 6x6 card would be a cute "invite" to come bake Christmas cookies! I started with the adorable gingerbread cookie image and colored her in using alcohol markers. I added the matte red enamel dot for her holly berry and green glitter enamel dots to her dress for additional sparkle! I created a banner for the bottom using the black glitter washi to border my "cookies" sentiment. Lastly I embellished with the adorable gingerbread brads!
I hope you have time this holiday season to make memories that will last a lifetime!

Pastelloween Bottle Cap Bag Toppers

Hello Eyelet Outlet Fans!  Coming in with a new twist on Halloween embellishments.  This summer we've had a few new families move into my neighborhood.  I thought it would be fun to bring them into some of our neighborhood Hocus Pocus and give them some fun and kooky "You've Been Boo'd"  monster-themed cookies and I thought it would be fun to decorate the bags with these wicked Beach themed Pastelloween bag toppers.

To create my Bottle cap embellishments I used 2 Bottle cap dies and  a spiderweb die to add on some additional layers but also to add a little extra Halloween look. In between each layer, I added foam tape to give it depth and height. For the top layer of my bottle cap, I used La La Land Crafts Flower die, eek word die from my stash and I used my new digital paper collection Wicked Waves by Salty Beach Scrapper, as well as the ephemera pieces from the collection. To top it off I added the Matte finish Enamel Dots- White inside the eyes and around the edges of the bottle cap I added Jewel Bling -100 count blue , for my wicked beach house I added the Glitter Enamel dots- black to give it more depth and don't you think it gave my embellishment that extra wow factor?

For my last bottle cap bag topper I used the rolled flowers in peach, mint and black solid color card stock and added a cute spf 1000 skully ephemera piece backed up with foam tape and I added the Jewel Bling Multi-size 100 count- Pink . I hope you love my Bottle Cap Bag toppers and if you would like to check out my walk-thru YouTube video the link is here:

Shake Your Tail Feathers - Retro Neon Flamingos by Janet

It's HOT out there right? For my neck of the woods, the humidity has been worse than the heat but it all gets me to dreaming about bright colors. In this case, neon colors. I've noticed that neons are making a comeback this summer. Lots of manufacturers are putting out neon inks, papers and embellishments. Welcome back to the 80's ladies and gentlemen!

Today I have made a slimline card with a flamingo theme. Lucky for me, Eyelet Outlet has many products featuring flamingos! In this project, I cut flamingos out of neon cardstock using my Cricut and created three shakers. I filled them with three different colors of flamingo sequins. If you don't know it already, Eyelet Outlet has greatly expanded their sequin line to include many different fun shapes and colors. The flamingo sequins are just one of many new shapes added this spring and you get all three colors when you order them. I also used two flamingo brads and black matte enamel dots on this card. If you're really into flamingos, you'll find several flamingo washi tape designs in the store too.

Happy Birthday to You!

Hello. Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

If you're like me, you never seem to have enough birthday cards, so I have one to share with you today that uses a unique combination of Eyelet Outlet Brads, Enamel Dots, and Washi Tape.

My inspiration for this card was actually a pair of eye glasses - in the form of a brad.

I got to thinking - why not make a face!?!?!?

So I did:

The eyes are Enamel Dots.

Yes, I wished I had a birthday hat, but since I didn't I adapted and used a Witch Hat and added a Glitter Enamel Dot to the end for a pom pom.

And what birthday is complete without some Balloons and the singing of Happy Birthday to you (hence the Music Note Washi Tape)!?!?!?

There's even a gift - Birthday Sock Monkey.

Best Fishes

Eyelet Outlet has a variety of stamp sets. The one I've used for my cards today is the Fish stamp set

This stamp set has some fun sentiments, two little fish, and even a fish bowl. So much possibility with this stamp set!

For my first card I wanted to include the fish bowl and the just dropping you a line sentiment. I used a tiny piece of a post it note to mask the area of the fish bowl, allowing the sentiment to go there without being affected by the stamped image of the fish bowl. First I stamped the sentiment, then I covered the line/hook with the small piece of post it note before stamping the fish bowl. Once it was stamped, I simply removed the post it note.

I paper-pieced the water and surface/sand in the fish bowl, using bits of the same designer paper I have in the card background.

For my second card I started my creative process with the sentiment You're quite a catch. When fishermen catch a great fish, they usually do two things. They stretch the story, of course... but they also try to capture a picture IF it truly is a great catch. Therefore I used a variety of film/camera themed items (Brad and Washi Tapes) to go with that theme. I added a fun fish in the film strip and used three white matte enamel dots to give the perception of air bubbles rising to the surface above the fish. This card was so much fun to make.
