Then Sings My Soul

My thoughts turned to my Dad the other day and I fondly remembered how he whistled the lovely old hymn, "How Great Thou Art" as he worked splitting and stacking fire wood. And since I have heard that the angels are near when cardinals appear, this card practically made itself.

Surrounding the first words of the chorus is a simple wreath that I embellished with Eyelet Outlet music note brads. To the pine branch, I added one of our pinecone brads and a cardinal brad. The enamel heart brought it home. ❤

This week, instead of my photo at the bottom of the post, here's a picture of Dad. Most likely he was whistling in this photo.

Winter Cardinals

Eyelet Outlet's popular cardinal brads are so beautiful on a holiday card.  Today I've used the female cardinal and the male profile cardinal on my winter birdhouse.

The birdhouse is a Cricut image and I used wood grained digital paper for it.  I also added an Eyelet Outlet holly brad.  The greenery is also from Cricut and the pinecone brad really added dimension and interest.  I also topped it off with an Eyelet Outlet snowflake brad. The frame around my scene is created with a red and green digital paper. I'm excited to create a few more of these for this year's Christmas cards.

Winter Cardinals

Is there anything more lovely than a pair of beautiful cardinals sitting in a winter landscape?

Sadly, during this winter season we have had friends and family who have lost loved ones. I decided to create a sympathy card using the beautiful cardinal brads. Adding a few pops of winter green fir, the cardinal washi and pinecone brads finished off my simple card.

"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge." Psalms 91:4

The Reason for the Season!

Celebrate the Reason for the Season!

I enjoy creating Christmas cards and love this slimline card idea! I created a card base using various trees for my background and added distress inks for shading. I then added a strip of the Cardinal Holly Washi tape mounted on cardstock. I cut and distressed my circle and added my sentiment, embellishing with the beautiful, detailed Cardinal brads and mounted with foam tape. Lastly, I added my creation on cardstock lined with the red and shite stripe washi.

Traditional or Non-Traditional Holidays?

Are you a fan of traditional holiday cards, or do you prefer non-traditional themes?  I absolutely love traditional holiday cards and decorations!

When I saw the Cardinal (and Female Cardinal) Brads, I knew that I wanted to pair them with some beautiful greenery and cones.  I thought that they would be the perfect embellishment to dress up my card.

I roughed up the edges of my printed paper with a distressing tool, layered it on red cardstock and adhered it to my card base.  I arranged the winter foilage around my circles and then tucked the sentiment tag under the foilage.  I added the Cardinal Brads and then finished up with a metallic red bow and Red Glitter Enamel Dots.

I really love the traditional look of this card!  I hope you do too.

Christmas Card(inals!)

Cardinals are some of my (Lauren's) favorite birds and also some of my favorite Eyelet Outlet Brads. We have CardinalsFemale Cardinals and Cardinal Profiles and I've used the first two on this card. To make the male Cardinal's vivid feathers stand out even more, I've clustered some of my favorite holiday washi tapes: Vertical Red Tree TapeHeart TapePoinsettia Tape and Red Foil Striped Washi. My sentiment is one repeat of Merry Christmas Tape, stuck to a piece of cardstock and popped up on foam for extra dimension.

If Christmas in July isn't your thing, check out our Bluebird and Robin BradsSeagullsOwlsPenguins or Flamingos in the Eyelet Outlet Store!

Christmas Beauty by Janet

Sometimes you see one of those premade blocks in a paper pad and you just can't help but add some pretty brads and bling to it! This background comes from a paper pad from the Michael's Hot Buy paper pad category. It's called Say Freeze.

It was already beautiful and the perfect size to add some holiday brads and bling to from the Eyelet Outlet store. It took the piece from pretty to extra special! I double-mounted it on card stock. So pretty and a perfect start to my holiday card stash!

Cardinal Christmas Card

Hey everybody! Have you started on your Christmas cards yet? It's never too early to start, lol! I've been cranking out Mother's Day and Father's Day cards, and a few Christmas cards in between. This Christmas card in traditional red and gray features our Cardinal Brads and Cardinal Profile Brads along with Clear Jewel Bling. This was a fun card to put together and involved putting to good use two leftover chipboard ornament pieces I had on my desk from another project.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from heavyweight white cardstock along with a layering panel from a gray snowflake pattern and a red foil cardstock strip which I adhered to the card front. I added Clear Jewel Bling to the center of each snowflake, and then adhered a silver foiled sentiment toward the bottom.

I colored the chipboard pieces with alcohol markers, added a Cardinal Brad and a Cardinal Profile Brad, and adhered the embellishment to the top left corner.

I cut the inside panel from layering weight white cardstock and embellished it with strips of the snowflake pattern and red foil cardstock used on the front. I added another silver foiled sentiment and layered the panel on red cardstock.

Christmas Cardinal Fun Fold

Hey everybody! I hope you had a great week! Leslie here, sharing a pretty fun fold Christmas card... it's never too early to get started on those Christmas cards to avoid having to rush in an already busy season! This card features our Cardinal Brads, Cardinal Profile Brads, Female Cardinal Brads and Clear Jewel Bling Strips. I absolutely love cardinals. Many people believe that a loved one is watching over us if a cardinal appears, and that's what I always think of when I see one! ;)

I cut the card base from white cardstock, and the remaining pieces from light and dark gray, red and silver cardstock. I added a Cardinal Brad, a Cardinal Profile Brad and a Female Cardinal Brad to the birch trees, and then added a Clear Jewel Bling Strip down each side for a little festive bling.

And the fun part is that this card folds flat for mailing!

Happy Anniversary

I've heard it said that North American Cardinals mate for life, so our lovely and popular cardinal brads seemed a perfect choice for the anniversary card I made recently.

In addition to using both the male and female cardinal brads, I used some of our gorgeous wide washi tape for the background.  This one is called Flowers Vintage.  I also embellished the card with some pearl swirl bling.

Enjoy the day and happy crafting!

Winter Beauty

Hello EO fans! So how's the weather been treating you? A lot of the country has had some rough weather lately and here in Charlotte we actually had snow! Woohoo! We don't get snow too often and we got some last Sunday and again yesterday morning. It doesn't last long here which is just how I like it. It's pretty when it comes and just as nice when it goes.

All the cold temps and the snow inspired my card today. The background of the forest is made with Glitter Winter Washi Tape. I love the subtle pattern of trees in the tape. I used two rows of Sparkle White Glitter Tape to represent the snow. Two strips of Fancy Long Bling-Pearls & Jewels in clear adds a bit more sparkle. I used a pair of Moose Brads in the scene. The Cardinal Brad is the perfect pop of color in this neutral scene.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I inspired you to do a little winter cardmaking. Have a great week!

Happy Creating Everyone!

Pine & Dandy Holiday

Wish your family and friends a Pine & Dandy holiday with Eyelet Outlet pine themed embellishments!

Today I'm sharing a couple of projects.  First up a tag featuring our lovely Pine Tree brads.  The patterned paper is a digital paper called Woodland Forest Friends from Creative Bu on Etsy.

Next up, a card featuring one of our popular cardinal brads and a pinecone brad. I have to tell you, I had this card completed and photographed without the cardinal and when I looked at the picture I realized the missed opportunity!  I ended up making a second card, this time with the cardinal!  This digital paper is from the same set.

Be sure to put pinecone, pine trees, and cardinals in your basket when you shop Eyelet Outlet!

Leslie's Holiday Favs!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here, sharing three of my favorite holiday projects created with our amazing products! When this idea was presented to our design team, we all loved it, so hopefully this is the start of a new holiday tradition!

The first of my three favorites is this adorable Merry Christmoose card! These Moose Brads are some of the coolest brads ever, which I paired with our Copper Skinny Washi Tape and White Enamel Dots to create this fun scene.

The card in the number two spot is this peaceful serene scene created with our Cardinal Brads and Cardinal Profile Brads against a Glitter Star Washi Tape background embellished with Snowflake Brads and White Enamel Dots.

And my third favorite is this step card shaker! Who can resist a shaker card?! Especially a shaker card filled with our gorgeous
Snowflake Sequins?! I also used clear gemstones from our Clear Jewel Bling and Clear Bling Strips to embellish the snowflakes on the front of the shaker.

Warm Winter Wishes Slimline

It's Janet here for Eyelet Outlet. EO has so many perfect brads and washi for holiday cardmaking. It's literally hard to figure out what you want to use!

Today I have a holiday slimline card featuring the new Female Cardinal Brad. It pairs so perfectly with the Cardinal Profile and Cardinal Brad sets that have been carried a while in the store. The Holly Brads are also so versatile and can be used on any holiday card. I used one here as part of the cluster that the cardinals are perched on. I also used Snowflake Brads in the background.

It's also easy to bling up your cards using EO washi and bling. Here I used Glitter Silver Washi and Sparkle Red Glitter washi for the mat and for the border going through the card. Just apply the tape to cardstock and cut with your favorite die or electronic cutter. So easy and you waste hardly anything!

As a finishing touch, I added some White Pearl Bling and Green Jewel Bling to the middle of the snowflakes. So pretty!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you visit the store and get your holiday card making started.

Happy Creating Everyone!
