Orange You Glad We're Friends?

I love creating cards that use puns and plays on words!  These are especially fun for Valentine cards and I have one for you today that features the orange slices from our new Lemonade and Fruit brad set.

I welded a few basic shapes together in Cricut Design Space to create the card base and added an offset.  The smiley oranges are also Cricut images.  I added the orange slices and also some heart brads to the card to finish it off.

Winter Cardinals

Is there anything more lovely than a pair of beautiful cardinals sitting in a winter landscape?

Sadly, during this winter season we have had friends and family who have lost loved ones. I decided to create a sympathy card using the beautiful cardinal brads. Adding a few pops of winter green fir, the cardinal washi and pinecone brads finished off my simple card.

"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge." Psalms 91:4

Winter Wishes

We are in the heart of winter and my thoughts are on quiet snowy nights where the snow dampens all the sound and nature dominates a magical world. My card is in memory of those peaceful evenings when I lived in Minnesota and North Dakota.

I've made a card with a domed snow globe. Inside are silver Snowflake Sequins, Deer Brads and Tree Snow Brads. The wintery globe background is Sparkle White Glitter Washi Tape and Glitter Star Washi Tape. The card mat is cardstock lined with Deer Washi Tape. I added Snowflake Bling for decoration. This comes in white, red and green but the white is perfect for this card.

Thanks for joining me here today at the EO blog. Please visit the store for all your brads, washi tape, bling and paper flowers!

Happy Creating!

MY FIVE FAVORITE CREATIONS OF 2023

With the ending of 2023 and a brand-new year starting, I've been reminiscing about all the fun things I've made for you in 2023.  Although it was hard to narrow it down since each project was special to me in their own ways, I picked out my FIVE favorite creations I made for you in 2023.

AND HERE THEY ARE...

Coming in at number FIVE

THE JUNK JOURNAL JUNKIE!

See all the photos here:

Talk about FUN! Since there is no right or wrong way to create a Junk Journal page, I just let my imagination soar and before I knew it, I had created something pretty cool! I love to stand back and look at this and see all the different intricate items I cut out and added. Even though I created it, I still find new things that I hadn’t noticed before.

Not far behind the Junk Journal Junkie page and coming in at number FOUR is…

THE BICYCLE AND BOUQUETS SHADOWBOX!

See all the photos here:

I smile every time I look at this one.  I love all the bright colors and how the flower brads match perfectly with the paper flowers I made. And the spokes on the wheels!! LOVE. This project, to me, is a huge smile turned into a shadowbox!

Coming in at number THREE

IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR COLLECTION!

See all the photos here:

Since my mom was a teacher, she would always get so excited for school to start and would sing that song all throughout August as she was getting her classroom all set up. I loved making this collection in honor of my mom and all the teachers out there that truly love making a difference in a young child’s life. Thank you all.

The number TWO spot goes to...

The SHABBY CHIC ARMOIRE

See all the photos here:

This one holds a special place in my heart as it was the very first creation I made for Eyelet Outlet. I love to make 3-D paper creations so I wanted to make sure my first impression was a good one and I was extremely happy with how adorable it actually turned out. If you get a chance to visit a show where Eyelet Outlet has a booth, make sure to stop by and see it in person!

And my all-time favorite piece I made all year…coming in at NUMBER ONE is…

THE HAUNTED HOUSE HALLOW LUMINARY!

Again, my passion is creating 3-D sculptures and the more intricate, the better!  I literally had to pull myself away from this piece because I just kept thinking of more and more cute things to add.  I love the spider hanging from the roof, the spider egg nest I made from a Q-Tip, the “blood” stained stairs and of course, I HAD to pay homage to one of my favorite movies and add the two witches feet under the house.  Little details that you must look close to find.  I love adding the EXTRAS!

The funny thing about making paper creations is that I never truly know how they will turn out.  I may start off with one idea in my head, but as I am creating it, the plans change and the project morphs into something totally different and usually better than I’d imagine.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my projects as much as I have enjoyed creating them for you.  I cannot wait to see what I create for you next year!!

Have a safe a very happy New Year!

Recipe Scrapbooking

Happy New Year, Eyelet Outlet fans!  Now that the holidays are behind us and the wrapping paper and Christmas crafting supplies are put away, I thought I'd spend a little time working on one of my favorite crafting passions - scrapbooking my recipes.

I first discovered Eyelet Outlet back in 2009 when I was creating my first recipe scrapbook.  Their awesome cooking/food/drink brads have embellished many of my pages through the years, but today I've used some fun brads from the most recent release.  The new pinata brads, beautiful cactus brads, lime wedges from the Lemonade and Fruit brad set and a few cocktail brads to add some fun interest to my Mexican Lasagna recipe pages.

If any of you enjoy scrapbooking recipes and have used Eyelet Outlet products on your pages, we love for you to share your project with us on our Eyelet Outlet Fans Facebook Group!

Lauren's 2023 Favorites

It's that time again, the Eyelet Outlet Design Team is picking our favorite projects of 2023; and at the same time, we're getting ready to make brand new inspiring creations for 2024! Here are five of my (Lauren's) personal picks... in more or less chronological order. Click the bolded text to visit the original posts for additional description and direct product links.

It's impossible (imo) to Flamin-Go wrong with EO Flamingo and Beachy Brads. When a friend sent me this hilarious pun, I literally couldn't get to my supplies fast enough!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and this vertical Girls Tape not only captures that vibe perfectly, it pairs seamlessly with pretty much any combination of Brads and Tapes that appeal to your favorite gal.

The new Sugar Skull Brads arrived at the end of the summer, and were instant faves. This Viva la Vida card, posted on Dia de los Muertos, turned out exactly like the picture that was in my head.

Eyelet Outlet Pinata Brads were also brand new this year and my first thought was to make a Smashing Shaker Card with EO Sequins inside. I stand by that decision.

The new Driving Brads pair brilliantly with Classic Car Brads, Compass Brads, and loads of tape styles; for instant Masculine Card perfection.

is looking forward to another year of brads, tapes and diabolical puns!

January Calendar Planning

Happy New Year dear creative friends! I am grateful you are here!

As we embark on a New Year and set goals and plans for success, I thought I would share my calendar layout for January 2024. I love using a good quality paper planner that allows me to write, stamp, create, and add embellishments to my heart's content!

I began with stamping my snowflakes in light blue and adding some distressing around the edges of my planner. Next, I added my wintery washi tapes in various places. Lastly, I embellished with the adorable snowman and snowflake brads! Quick, simple, and easy with a lovely result!

Now, all that is left to do is write my plans for January! I hope this inspires you to get organized and creative in planning your upcoming year!

Gathering Wood

Winter is here and that means it is time to bundle up
some wood for the fireplace. This outdoor scene has a
a winter look due to the great winter washi tape that
Eyelet Outlet sells. For this card I layered the washi
tape and added some hills at the bottom.

To continue the outdoor look I added fun snowmen brads
and tree brads from Eyelet Outlet

Janet's Top 5 Cards of 2023

It's been quite a year at the Eyelet Outlet blog. We've had some great projects over the year. As is always fitting, the team is taking a look back and showing us their five favorite cards and projects of 2023. I've picked mine but it's always hard to look through over 50 projects and choose your favorites. If you would like to be reminded of how to make these or if you wonder what products were EO's, just clink on the post links and it'll take you to the original posts. So - without further delay, here are my top five choices!

Whisking You a Happy Birthday! I love interactive and dimensional cards. This one has so many fun EO kitchen brads and I loved the colors on this one too. You can find the details HERE.

You're Palmtastic! The tropics are always a great theme and EO has so many possibilities for tropical and beachy cards. My favorite thing about this card is the Toucan taking a breather on the palm tree branches! The link to this post can be found HERE.

A Pineapple A Day Keeps Your Worry Away! This is one of my favorites because it's so cheery and bright and you can't hardly not smile when you see that pineapple with his green shades! The link to this post is HERE.

Holiday Gnome Baker! I love me some cookies and gnomes and this card puts them together. A perfect combo! He's so cute with this wooden spoon and gingerbread girl cookie brads. You can find this post HERE.

Go Vegan for Thanksgiving! This one makes me laugh and I love all the fall leaves, sunflowers, pumpkins, squirrel and acorn brads used on this one together. The post can be found HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to be back each day this week as our Design Team shows off their favorite five cards of the year. We'll be back again with new project next starting January 7th. Happy 2024 everyone!

Winter Wonderland Town Gift Box

So, Christmas is over, but the holiday cheer is still flowing! I’m ready for some SNOW!!! For this week's creation for Eyelet Outlet, I wanted to make something extra special that can be used anytime of the year. I made this with winter and snow in mind.

As you can see, it is an adorable gift box with a beautiful candy cane and snowflake embossed paper ribbon on top. The front of the box is adorned with three white snowflake brads that match perfectly to the paper I used to make the box.

Once you lift off the lid of the present, two of the sides fall down to reveal a serene 3-D Winter Wonderland Town that awaits you inside.

One side of the box has a beautiful sentiment accented by four large clear bumpy jewel bling

The other side has a pocket that has a blank embossed square of paper to write your special message.

If you look through the wintery trees in the forest, you will see a cozy cabin surrounded by snowdrifts. The roof has a wreath brad on top where I added some red jewel bling to look like holly berries.

It wouldn’t be a Winter Wonderland Town if it wasn’t snowing. The snowflakes are the clear jewel bling mixed with several of the white glitter enamel dots.

When it snows, you MUST make a snowman so our Winter Wonderland town has its very own snowman brad that welcomes all guests that come to visit.

The Winter Wonderland town holds another special surprise!  Turn off the lights and our cozy cabin is all lit up!!

This Winter Wonderland town gift box was so fun to make, and it is so versatile. I can make it for any season, any occasion, any event, and I know that Eyelet outlet will always have all the extra embellishments I will need to make it extra special.

Have a wonderful week and always be STRATE-UP CRAFTY!
