Faux Leather? YES PLEASE!

We all know that Eyelet Outlet has the cutest and largest selection of brads, but did you know that they also have the most fabulous faux leather pieces? From character themed pieces, embossed pieces to duo chrome-colored pieces, their faux leather selection is amazing. 

To highlight the awesomeness of faux leather this week, I decided to make a very simple yet beautiful everyday greeting card.

 The background of the card is the Iris duo chrome-colored faux leather that I glued onto a purple foil card stock which was then glued on to a black background card base. You should see how beautiful the colors are in the light!

 The large floral embellishment in the middle is from the floral duo chrome-colored faux leather. I wanted to highlight the beautiful flowers on this piece of faux leather, so I cut out just one section of three flowers and their attached leaves.

I glued that onto a piece of blue foil card stock which was glued on a piece of white cardstock which I inked to have a purple hue. To finish off the card, I added several Blue Jewel Bling as well as Blue Pearls and a resin flower.

It's Time to SHELL-abrate!

Christmas in July is winding down, but there's still time for a few more holiday cards with just a little touch of the beach!

I made a loose wreath of diecut foliage to fit my 5" square card and decorated it with Shell Corner Brads and Shell Brads, then added a couple of handsome Nutcracker Brads to flank my computer generated sentiment. I scattered a few small blue Pearl Bling around for extra interest.

For my second card I used the foliage to create more of a spray shape on which to scatter more Shell and Shell Corner Brads and this time I threw in a few Snowflake Brads too.

Definitely not the most traditional cards I've ever made, but I think I know a few beach-lovers who'll be pretty happy to see these in December.

A Fish Story

Hello! It's Kim from Katydid Cards.

Another clear stamp set by Eyelet Outlet, Fish, was used to make this "Fin-tastic News" card.   I combined the greeting, fishbowl and fish images from the set with the Fish and Sandcastle Brads, Blue Pearl Bling.  Also used were the Brown Glitter and Halloween Dot Washi Tapes.

I stamped the fishbowl image twice on 3" circles of watercolor paper.  On one, I cut the center out just inside the outermost line.  I attached that with mounting tape to the second image, colored with Copic markers.  The sandcastle brad was just perfect for inside the bowl.  I also stamped a mirror image of the fish so she could be looking up at her buddy.  Speaking of her buddy, he's a fish brad who's just so happy he can't "contain himself".

I made a water trail using the multi-sized pearl bling.  Pearls were also added across the center on the Halloween dot washi tape...the dots gave me a placement guide for the pearls and were a perfect size.  I attached that over the brown glitter washi which separates the two patterned papers from an old Gina K kit.

You can't really see it from the picture, but as a finishing touch, I coated the inner fishbowl with clear Wink of Stella to give it some shimmer.

Goose'd

Hi!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards.

Another new release at Eyelet Outlet store are the Duck/Goose Brads.

I had to do a little bit of thinking about how I wanted to use it; but when I settled on an idea, I was tickled with it.  Here's my card:

I made the card with a file purchased in the Silhouette store...it's the pocket I was after.  I printed the pocket using digital patterned paper and then color matched the card stock; Crushed Curry for the base, Melon Mambo and Island Indigo for the mats and Very Vanilla for the focal image, the pocket insert and the sentiment mat inside.

The adorable Goose is the centerpiece of the card, but those Blue Pearl Bling sure do command attention, too!  I added a touch of ribbon to the top of the tag.

...were you expecting that? LOL  I'm hoping it made you smile!

Inside I though I'd expand on the goose theme with the sentiment on a panel of Very Vanilla, matted on the same card stock as the front.  

I have another idea for the additional geese I have in my stash, so stay tuned for another card using these in the future.
