Cardinal Christmas Card

Hey everybody! Have you started on your Christmas cards yet? It's never too early to start, lol! I've been cranking out Mother's Day and Father's Day cards, and a few Christmas cards in between. This Christmas card in traditional red and gray features our Cardinal Brads and Cardinal Profile Brads along with Clear Jewel Bling. This was a fun card to put together and involved putting to good use two leftover chipboard ornament pieces I had on my desk from another project.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from heavyweight white cardstock along with a layering panel from a gray snowflake pattern and a red foil cardstock strip which I adhered to the card front. I added Clear Jewel Bling to the center of each snowflake, and then adhered a silver foiled sentiment toward the bottom.

I colored the chipboard pieces with alcohol markers, added a Cardinal Brad and a Cardinal Profile Brad, and adhered the embellishment to the top left corner.

I cut the inside panel from layering weight white cardstock and embellished it with strips of the snowflake pattern and red foil cardstock used on the front. I added another silver foiled sentiment and layered the panel on red cardstock.

Mother's Day is fast approaching and here's a quick little card to let her know you appreciate the great genes she gave you!

I started with a denim digital paper and added some faux stitching around the edge.  The sentiment is from the Cricut image library, but I substituted a little heart brad and Eyelet Outlet's cute blue jeans!

This card was quick and easy and sure to give your mom a smile!

HOPPY Birthday

Nothing makes for a more RIBBET-ing birthday card than Eyelet Outlet Frog Brads. As if the frogs themselves weren't already cute enough, the sets also come with cattails, plus purple and yellow waterlilies. So you basically have all the ingredients for an entire scene... (and inspiration for an appropriately punny sentiment!) ...in just ONE little pack of brads!

You could make a wonderful card with just an inky background and some Wide Sky Washi Tape, but in this case, I stamped the pond edge from Sunny Studios' Country Scenes set, colored it with Tombow Dual Brush pens to perfectly match the brads, and added a sweet little Mini Butterfly, which is on sale. I hope you'll agree this card is TOAD-ily awesome!

can never resist a diabolical pun!

Thank You Teacher!

Hi everyone! Janet here with a cute little teacher appreciation card. In my area, next week is the official time to thank all the teachers in the District and that inspired me to make this card today.

Eyelet Outlet has so many animal brads. I have this bus stamp and die in my stash and I was delighted to find that the EO animals are sized to fit perfectly in the windows. I know that none of the teachers are going to get a card as fun and cute as this one!

Have you noticed the great wide road, train track, water and sky washi tapes in the EO store? I have found so many great uses for them. They make it so easy to set a scene like I did here.

Fun Card for That RVing Beach-Loving Friend!

Hey everybody! Leslie here sharing a super cute card which is perfect for that RVing beach-loving friend! Everybody has a few of those, right?! This was a fun scene to create and features our Water Washi Tape, Sky Washi Tape Wide, Tall Palm Tree Brads, Sun & Cloud Brads, BBQ Brads and Flip Flop Brads. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from white cardstock along with a layering panel from 80# white cardstock which I covered with a strip of Water Washi Tape and a strip of wide Sky Washi Tape. I tore a strip of kraft paper and adhered it to the bottom of the panel. I hand-cut a sand bar from brown cardstock, adhered it to the washi tape seam, and added two Tall Palm Tree Brads. I added a die cut and embossed camper, a BBQ Brad and Flip Flop Brads. I stamped the sentiment in StazOn ink, added a sun brad from the Sun & Cloud Brads, and adhered the panel to the card base.

I cut the inside panel from 80# white cardstock and embellished the bottom with the leftover piece of torn kraft paper used on the front. I stamped the sentiment in blue ink and layered the panel on blue cardstock.

Mom's Are Like Buttons

Quite often, as I browse through images in the Cricut image library, I will spot a design that will inspire me to reach for my Eyelet Outlet brad box and this Mother's Day card is a perfect example.

With a little substituted the buttons, thread, and heart on the original image with actual buttons and hearts and thread brads from Eyelet Outlet.

I had fun with actual thread on in this card, too!  I tucked a piece of white thread through the hole that I had punched to anchor my brad.  I secured the thread on the reverse with a piece of tape. I cut the needle with my Cricut out of foil vinyl.  I lifted it from the transfer sheet with tweezers and slipped the other end of the thread through the eye of the needle and then attached it to my card.

I love adding Eyelet Outlet brads to my projects because they offer so much interest and dimension!

Happy crafting, Eyelet Outlet fans!

BIG Initials!

One of the easiest ways that I (Lauren) have found to quickly customize a plain store-bought gift bag is with giant initials, covered in Eyelet Outlet Washi Tape of which... fortunately... I happen to have quite a bit! I've also got some fun Enamel Hearts and Stars, which I've scattered around the bags for even more texture and interest.

It seems counter-intuitive to start with the tape rather than the initial, but in fact, that's sort of what I did. I did size and print my initials on plain white cardstock first, but... I didn't cut them out. Instead, I took my 4x6" outline letters (the font is called Storybook) and stapled them to 5x7" pieces of cardstock covered in neat strips of washi. Then, I cut them out!

Between my three initials, I've used about three dozen different tape styles, and I'll name and link a bunch of those in a minute, but really... this idea will work with ANY combination of tapes you like! You can organize them by color, as I have here; or by theme, or in rainbow order, or create patterns with the tape or... well, this is quite a flexible method and thus perfect for making the initials as unique as their recipients! I adhered my finished initials to some solid cardstock to create a skinny outline, then added some of the same tapes to each bag to complete the design.

And now here's a fairly thorough list of the tapes I used, from top to bottom, for each letter!

Letter K: Flower WashiPink Foiled RoseSkinny Calendar TapeUnicorn WashiZigzagPink CheckedMacaron, more Skinny Calendar (the set has three different styles), wide Funky Bird TapeHeart Tape from the Valentine set, Tiny Hearts, the third of the Skinny Calendar Tapes and Pink + White Dots.

Letter R: Star TapeOwl WashiScript TapeSkinny XO Foil Tape, XO Washi which is sadly out of print, Foiled Silver DotsAntique Car TapeTire TracksRoad TapeWood WashiMusic Keyboard Tape and a repeat of XO, Script and Stars.

Letter S: Cloud WashiSkinny TapePurple ZigzagRainbow TapePurple CheckedSkinny Calendar Tape, Purple Gingham Check and Purple/Green Stripe Tape have, alas, gone; Llama Washi, More Clouds, Foiled Flower Tape and finally Purple Dots and Japanese Tape are also out of print, but... Set of Bound Notebooks

Hey everybody! Leslie here sharing a set of two small bound notebooks featuring our Colored Daisy Brads and Burnt Orange 5mm Jewel Strips on one, and our Mini Bee Brads and yellow Enamel Dots on the other. I had my Bind-It-All out for another project and the idea for the larger notebook popped into my head so I went with it! I ended up creating an additional (slightly smaller) notebook with the notebook paper that was left over after cutting the paper for the larger one. Seemed to make perfect sense to create a second one so as not to waste the paper! ;)

I used recycled cardboard for the front and back covers of each notebook. For the first one, I cut random sized strips of various colors of cardstock and adhered them to a panel at an angle. I added die cut alphas along with Colored Daisy Brads and burnt orange bling from a 5mm Jewel Strip to complete the front. I used a 6-hole length of binding wire to put the notebook together with my Bind-It-All.

For the second one, I used a nested chevron die with several colors of cardstock to create the background panel. I added die cut alphas along with a row of six Mini Bee Brads and yellow Enamel Dots to complete the front. I used a 6-hole length of binding wire to put the notebook together with my Bind-It-All for this one as well.

Popping In To Say Hello

I love a motion card and this little wiper card is easy to make a fun to receive.  When opened, a little mechanism surprises the recipient with a little pop up.  This type of card has so many possibilities for creativity and today I'm bringing you one that I created that features Eyelet Outlet
toast brads
. The set includes bacon and eggs, too!

The toaster I've used on the front of the card is from Cricut's "From My Kitchen" image set.

I've always loved the little smiling toast image, also from Cricut, but have never had occasion to use him until today.  He paired perfectly with my Eyelet Outlet saying bubble brad.  There's several in the set, including "thank you, " "love you," "hello," and "happy birthday."

Thanks for popping in and making our blog part of your day!

Easter Egg Hunt

Here's a card that's captured, in action, a couple of the Easter Bunny's helpers (aka Eyelet Outlet Rabbit Brads) hiding the Egg Brads for Sunday's upcoming festivities! They've got a lovely day for it too, thanks to some beautiful extra-wide Sky Tape, a Sun and Cloud Brad and a background made from Flower Washi.

For weeks that don't end in a holiday, you could swap the bunnies and eggs for Flower and Leaf Brads; or leave off the grass and make a beach scene with Sandcastle and Shell Brads!

wishes a very Happy Easter
to everyone who's celebrating!

Spring & Wine - A Great Combination!

Hey everyone! It's Janet and with spring in full bloom, I'm looking forward to longer days and time to sit on the porch with a favorite glass of wine. This thought inspired me to create today's card. I started by picking out the Wine Washi Tape and two other coordinating washi tapes (see linked list below). I used Cricut Design Space to cut a red mat and white card front. I also found the hello sentiment with the arrow and created a shadow for it. Since the sentiment was small, I cut the hello script and the arrow from white and metallic vinyl. When something is too small to be cut successfully out of paper, vinyl is a great alternative.

After placing the washi tapes, I added three paper flowers and secured them with a wine bottle brad from the Wine Brad set. I also used the red wine glass brad from the set and placed it near the sentiment. I added silver and blue glitter enamel dots and a small heart enamel dot to balance everything out.

I just love this card and how cheery and fun it is. This is perfect for someone who shares your love of wine.

I Love You with Every PIZZA My Heart

Hey everybody! I hope you had a great week! Leslie here, sharing a fun 'love you just because' card created with our new Pizza Flatback Resin along with our Plaid Heart Washi Tape, Red Jewel Bling and Pink Enamel Hearts! This was a fun one, for sure!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from 110# white cardstock along with narrow panels from 80# white cardstock and red cardstock. I covered the white cardstock panel with Plaid Heart Washi Tape and layered it on the red cardstock and then adhered it to the bottom of the card base. I created a pizza pan by cutting a stitched scallop circle from light brown cardstock, and added tiny dots of Dark Walnut Crystal Drops to the scallops around the edge. I adhered the pizza pan to the card front and then stamped the sentiment in light brown ink. I added the Pizza Flatback Resin along with an Enamel Heart. The finishing touch was adding some Red Jewel Bling

I cut the inside panel from 80# white cardstock and embellished it with a strip of the plaid heart washi tape and a narrow strip of light brown cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in light brown ink and layered the panel on brown cardstock.

Everything Is Awesome

Good Thursday, crafters!  I've been admiring easel cards on Pinterest lately, so I gave one a try today.  I opted for the style with a little drawer to hold candy, maybe a toy, or some little surprise for the recipient.

I hadn't created anything with the Eyelet Outlet Building Block brads in quite a while, so I thought I'd incorporate them into this project and our coordinating Building Block Washi Tape was an absolute must! I used some of our skinny red washi tape on either side of the patterned washi which complemented it well and filled out the space perfectly.

I secured the handle on the drawer with a couple of round blue brads.

Happy Crafting everyone!

Everybunny's HOPPY!

Oddly enough, this Eyelet Outlet Easter card has NO brads on it... HOW is that even possible? Well of course I (Lauren) love our Brown Rabbit Brads and our Pastel Rabbit Brads, but there are also quite a few awesome Bunny Tapes and Rabbit Washi styles, and I've used two of them here:

I applied both styles of tape in neat strips onto plain white cardstock. Then I used two alphabet die sets (Altenew's Bold Alphas and Lawn Fawn's Henry's ABCs) to cut out the sentiment from the colorful Bunny Tape. I fussy cut five sweet little dudes from Wide Rabbit Washi to peep out from the letters of "Hoppy" and added a few pink Heart Enamel accents. I layered the whole design over a couple of strips of Pink Check Tape and called it a day.

Be sure to visit the EO Blog often for more Easter card ideas by our amazing design team!

Bee Happy Shadow Phrase Inspiration

Hi everyone! It's Janet with some inspiration and an idea for your sentiment dies that include a shadow. Just cut the shadow into your panel and stamp or cut the phrase that goes on top of the washi tape background as you see here. You can also do this with a cutting machine as I did with my Silhouette Cameo.

I found the Bee Happy Phrase in the Silhouette Store and imported it into Silhouette Studio. I used the software to create the shadow for it. I cut the shadow into a 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" white panel that I also cut using a stamp border. I applied 3 strips of the Rainbow Pride washi tape on a strip of white paper and used the sketch feature of the Design Studio to write the phrase on top with a fine tip maker. Then I glued it on the card base in the area that it would show when the white panel was placed with foam tape squares. I applied the large white Heart Brad and some other bee products: Mini Bee Brads, Bee Washi Tape, and the Funky Bee Brad. I also added Gold Glitter Washi Tape to the border of the card and a red and yellow Paper Flower which was secured with a Red Pearl Brad.

I just love how this turned out. The white and rainbow shades make it feel fresh and energetic.

A Lantern Box Card for Dad!

Hey everybody! I hope you had a great week! Leslie here, sharing a cool Father's Day Lantern featuring our Deer Brads, Pine Tree Brads and Sun/Cloud Brads. Yep, you got it... I've been playing with my Scan N Cut! I have tons of cut files on my laptop and when I came across this one (looking for a different one, of course), the light bulb came on and I got to work!

I cut the main card base from red cardstock, and all the rest of the pieces from light blue, white, green and light brown cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in brown ink, trimmed it, and set it aside. As I was assembling the layers for the background scene, I added Deer Brads, Pine Tree Brads and Sun/Cloud Brads, and then finished the assembly. I added a twine bow at the top and adhered the stamped sentiment at the bottom.

Here's a quick shot of the back which has a plain panel to write a custom message (if desired) and sign. And of course, this is a box card and folds flat for mailing. ;)
