Hot Tub Crabs & Lobsters

Have you seen the new Crab & Lobster brad set? They are awesome and a lot of fun!

My little lobster and crab have found themselves in some hot water today. This is a very CAS (clean and simple) card. I found the pot image on Cricut Design Space. I cut it out of vinyl and applied it to my white card. I added some small lines around the fire and on the pot with a fine line pen. I made my sentiment from scratch on Design Space as well and put it in a speech bubble before printing and cutting it. The sky is three strips of the Sky Washi Tape. This tape is back ordered but I've linked another one that would work just as well. Finally, what's a beachy kind of card without a Seagull

Christmas ATCs with a sparkle

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing a set of three sparkly Christmas ATCs. I'm a confirmed ATC addict and I love creating both cards and coins!

I created one coin and two cards. An artist trading coin is a 2-1/2" circle (I use a punch) and an artist trading card is 3-1/2" x 2-1/2". My standard practice is to always punch two circles or cut two rectangles so that I can decorate one and adhere another one behind it for stability.

To create the 'Joy' coin, I placed a strip of Glitter Tall Tree Washi Tape horizontally across the coin base and added three Penguin Brads and the sentiment die cut from silver foil cardstock. Then I adhered a second punched circle behind it.

To create the 'peace' card, I covered the card base with Wood Washi Tape and then die cut the sentiment into the covered card base, saving the negative space pieces to add back in later. I added three Prancing Deer Brads and just prior to adhering the second rectangle behind it, I added two small strips of Glitter Brown Washi Tape to the extra card so the sparkle would show through the die cut sentiment. Once I adhered the second rectangle, I glued in the negative space pieces to the p, e, a and the second e.

To create the 'merry' card, I covered the card base with Glitter Gold Dots Washi Tape and added the sentiment die cut from red cardstock along with a thin red cardstock strip across the bottom. I adhered the stamped word Christmas and then added one Cardinal Brad and two Cardinal Profile Brads. Then I adhered a second rectangle behind it.

Let's Have a Tea Party!

Good Thursday, crafters!  I recently re-discovered the beautiful retro graphics of Velma and Kathryn Balint of KB and Friends having first purchased from them many years ago.  I've gone completely wild over their adorable collection of boxes. Many of them pair so perfectly with Eyelet Outlet products, so you'll be seeing more of this type of card from me in coming weeks!  ;)

Today I'm having a Tea Party!  Inside the little retro tea set box you'll see a tea pot and cup from Eyelet Outlet Tea Cup Set as well as a spoon brad from the popular silverware set.

On the table you'll see another of the tea pots in the set and seated at the table all ready for tea are the precious Teddy Bear brad along with his friend the Sock Monkey brad.

Thanks for joining me for tea today! See you next Thursday!

We're Just Being Shellfish

Which I (Lauren) think you'll agree is a pretty good way to celebrate the newest addition to the Eyelet Outlet lineup: Crab and Lobster Brads!

I was in the mood to make Artist Trading Cards, so I started with two pieces of watercolor paper just a hair under 2.5 x 3.5". I used a spare piece of (non-glitter) washi to mask a straight horizon line and a torn piece of wide tape to make my tide line, then I added my blendy oxide ink sky and ocean. When my backgrounds were complete I added torn strips of Glitter Gold Tape to serve as sand. I made the sentiments "Don't Be Crabby" and "Have a Clawsome Day" by combining alphabet stickers and text typed on clear label strips.

Next I made a scene... or rather, two scenes! My first ATC has two Crab Brads on the beach and a flying Seagull Brad up in the sky. The second has a Sun and Cloud in the sky, with a Lobster Brad on the beach surrounded by a few Shell Brads.

I think you'll agree with me that any project featuring Eyelet Outlet Crab and Lobster Brads is bound to be a shore thing! :)

can never resist
a diabolical pun!

Ah! The Beach Life!

Around here, August is beach month. One last time to dip your toes in the water and enjoy the sunshine and sand.

Today's card is a celebration of the last trip to the beach for the season. If you can't get to a beach or don't live near a beach, hopefully this will transport you there on a mini-mind vacation!

Have you seen the new Crab and Lobster Brad Set yet? I've used one of the lobsters on this card along with many other beachy brads including the sandcastle, umbrella, sunglasses, starfish, sand dollar and seagull. This is a scene printed from Cricut Design Space.

Cute and simple hello

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing a clean and simple (or in this case - cute and simple) card! When I came up with this design, I totally had COVID #alonetogether on my mind. This simple design would be a great one for a parent to create with a child.

I die cut several grass borders and layered them across the bottom of the front panel. Using a leaf punch, I punched a stem and leaves, and adhered it to the front panel. I curled the edges of all three layers of a paper flower, attached them with a 6mm Amber Jewel Brad and adhered the flower to the front panel. I added two Butterfly Brads and Sun and Cloud Brads. I stamped a simple sentiment in black ink in the upper left corner to finish the card front.

Thanks so much for stopping by - we'll see you next time!

Miss You SEW Much!

If social distancing has kept you away from someone you love, here's a sweet way to let them know how much you miss them.

I created this shaker card using images from the Cricut image library along with the slicing and hide contour tools in Cricut Design Space.

I filled my jar with random buttons from my stash as well as colorful Eyelet Outlet sequins.  I love the way the content of the jar is spilling and bouncing out!  I added a couple of spools of Eyelet Outlet thread brads and the popular scissors brad.  The space beneath the sentiment was calling out for a heart, don't you think?  I love the Eyelet Outlet enamel hearts available in all kinds of wonderful colors and sizes!

I hope you're inspired to make a card for someone you're missing SEW much, too!  Have a wonderful day!

New Catch

Don't miss this fun new catch from Eyelet Outlet...

or the new washi tape that just landed in our store!

Watch Out For Hidden Sugars...

...although if the sugars in question are adorable kawaii ice cream cones and they're disguised with a variety of Eyelet Outlet Brads, you might decide to make an exception, lol!

This is not the first or last time that I (Lauren) have paired Lawn Fawn character stamps with EO Brads. They're the perfect size and scale, plus... I love that the brads add texture to the stamping, but are still flat and mail-able. My card has five ice cream cones of various flavors; and the disguises, from left to right, are: Straw Hat Brads (on special for .99c)Sunglass BradsCherry, (on special for $1.29)Colorful Sunglass Brads; and finally, I could not resist a Mustache Brad (on special for $1.09). I used Cloud Tape to make the small window which holds the cones, and a slimline-sized background of Banana Tape.

There were so many additional brad choices in just the Hats and Glasses section of the EO Store that I'm fairly sure I'll be remaking versions of this card over and over!

is a big fan of brads, washi tape,
and (...especially...) ice cream!

Gnome-y Business

Hello Eyelet Outlet Fans! Today, I thought I'd join in on the Gnome craze and make a card featuring Eyelet Outlet products.

Now, we do have a Gnome Brad Set that is super cute too but I don't have them at this time. They would have been adorable as a third or fourth gnome on the card and I plan to add them to my collection for that reason. The good news is that there are so many fun brad sets that are just the right size to coordinate with the gnome character stamps out there right now. Hooray!

I created the background using a cloud stencil and Broken China Distress Oxide ink. The grass was made with a die set. Once I had the background together, I die cut it using a rectangle stitched die. I colored and cut out the two gnome characters and also cut out a polaroid die cut. I aranged these on the card and placed the gnome characters in and around the polaroid die cut. Then the fun began! I used the Garden Tool Brad Set and put the garden shovel in the gnome's hand and the garden fork below the sentiment. Mushrooms and gnomes go together so I added three of them from our Mushroom Brad Set. The Funky Bee Brads go great with this cartoonish-style card and I added a green butterfly from the Butterfly Brad Set. Finally, I used the always versatile Sun and Clouds Brad Set to add some interest in the top right corner of the card. Honestly, you really need this set because it can be used so often and it really accents a sky background so well. Can you make out the last brad set I used? Look closely. I used one orange mini leaf from the Mini Leaf Brad Set on the larger gnome's hat. I love it! One of the Mini Ladybugs would also be cute on his hat as an alternative.

Once all the brads were in place, I put a single row of the new Color Wheel Washi Tape around all 4 edges of my white card base. This creates a rainbow border around all four corners of the card to finish it off.

I hope you enjoyed this little voyage into gnome-ville. I know I did. They are just so darn cute! Have a great week!

Kitty Love

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing a fun kitty card that would make a purrfect Valentine or anniversary card! I created this in one of my favorite color combos of black and white with just a pop of red, but it would be super cute in any color combo!

I covered the front panel in vertical strips of Glitter Black Washi Tape. I added two Cat Brads to the lower right corner and adhered the panel to the card base. I punched two small hearts from red cardstock and adhered them above the cat brads. I stamped the sentiment in red ink on white cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it across the top of the panel to finish the card front.

Shining a Light on our Light Bulb Brads

Next time you're shopping the Eyelet Outlet store, don't forget to check out our clearance section before you check out!  You never know what kind of goodies you'll find there!  Today I've got 3 card ideas for you using our light bulb brads from the clearance section.

First up a fun thank you card with a little play on words.  I've used two of the yellow bulbs from the set suspended from a thin line and added some of our stick on bling to give the bulbs some shine.  I've also added a strip of our beautiful star glitter washi tape and a strip of skinny yellow washi tape.

Here's a cute way to check in on a friend and ask "Watt's Up"!  For this card, I wanted some patterned paper and actually made my own.  I used a light bulb image from Cricut's School Time Doodles image set.  I randomly placed them on the my rectangle card base used print then cut to create my patterned paper background.  I like the way the yellow bulb popped against the black and white color scheme.

This sentiment, from Cricut's Rad & Happy image set really made me laugh because it's totally ME when I'm making a card!  Sometimes I overthink projects to death!  Here I've used the white light bulb from the set and some clear stick on bling.  I also used one of Eyelet Outlet's emotion brads.  This one looked like he was really thinking things over!  Some black and white stripe skinny washi tape added a little frame around the card.

Stay well, keep crafting, and enjoy the day, friends!

From Italy, Con Amore!

Ok, technically, I (Lauren) am in New Jersey and unlikely to leave the country any time soon. But I can still *imagine* a fabulous trip to Italy by using my Eyelet Outlet Colosseum and Pisa Brads to make some fun Italian-themed cards. Oh and to make it even better, these brads are on special for just .89 cents!

For my first card I've combined an illustration from an old book with this cool Ticket Washi, and added the Leaning Tower and Colosseum to the "I" and "O" in my sentiment, which is composed of vinyl alphabet stickers in a nice chunky font. I've matted the whole panel with beautiful antique-looking Map Tape.

My second card is a bit sillier, so I needed to make a custom sentiment on the computer. The Leaning Tower is saying, "I'll Never ROME" to the Colosseum, who replies, "You've got a PISA my heart"! In addition to the Italian Brads I've got a Compass and a background paper made by neatly lining up strips of funky yellow Text Tape on plain white cardstock.

Wherever your real or imaginary travels take you this summer, I'm pretty sure there's an Eyelet Outlet Brad and Washi Tape combination to help you celebrate!

has never been to Italy
but is a big fan of GELATO! :)

Hoppy for You!

It's a hoppy summer day so why not celebrate someone with a pond and it's frogs, turtles and bees! This happy card reminds me of long summer days. Some would say it reminds them of spring but in my youth in North Dakota, ponds didn't look like this until late July or August because the season is so short and cool until then.

There are several sets used here. The Frog Brad Set is so much bang for your buck because you get the frogs, cattails AND the water lillies. The Mini Bee Brads are just the right size for the scene and the Turtle Brad looks so happy too!

I had a bit of space up at the top and I love I could fill it with three different washi tapes and the Sun and Clouds Brad Set. The washi tape used is the new Color Wheel Washi, Skinny Glitter Washi which is a set of 6 colors, and the Checked Blue Washi. The Bright Butterfly Brad make it all work together.

Make yourself a summer scene while the sun is still shining!

Snow in the Mountains

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here sharing a wintery Christmas card. I love Christmas, I'm always in Christmas mode and I make Christmas cards all year long! And this one is simple and would be easy to mass produce!

I placed a strip of Mountain Washi Tape horizontally across the front panel about half way down. I tore three snowbanks from white cardstock and layered them across the bottom of the panel. I added two Polar Bear Brads to the bottom snowbank which I thought resembled a mama and her cub. I added a tone-on-tone die cut sentiment and Snowflake Bling - 1-1/2", layered the panel on white foam and adhered it to the card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Favorite Things

Masculine cards are often challenging for card makers, but Eyelet Outlet products make them a snap!  Today I'm showcasing just a few Eyelet Outlet brads that the outdoors men in your life would love!

The sentiment and graphics on this 6 panel card are all images from the Cricut image library.  I've added complimentary brads that really make the card pop with texture, color, and interest.  In the top frames you'll see one of our newest releases, the grill brad and another popular one - the bass brad.

In the center you'll find the campfire brad.  The bottom row features the running shoe brads and the tent brad as well as the pine tree brad.

Thanks for being with us today!  Enjoy the day and keep on crafting!

We're Grillin' and Chillin'...

...with the fabulous brand new Eyelet Outlet BBQ Brads!

One of my (Lauren's) favorite Brad Tricks is to make a smaller shape or frame for the brads to live in, which can also serve as the focal point for the card. In this case, I diecut three circles of different sizes and made a composite scene with Sun and Cloud Brads in one; the silver grill and blue apron from the BBQ Set... plus a Beach Umbrella; and one of the beer bottles and the mug from our Beer Brads. My background is diecut clouds and I've added some paper-punched grass to ground each circle and add to the vibe of outdoor fun.

I hope you'll be inspired to make a card or project featuring your favorite summer activity; I guarantee we have an Eyelet Outlet brad style that will work!

has never actually used a grill irl!
