Bloomin' Beautiful

Is it just me (Lauren) or do Sunflowers seem to perfectly capture the transition between summer and fall? I especially love Eyelet Outlet Sunflower Brads and surely there's nothing better to pair them with than this gorgeous new extra-wide Sunflower Washi Tape? Though admittedly, the bright autumnal Sunflower Washi and Sunflower Glitter Tape are also quite lovely. I scattered a few tiny gold Star Sequins around, (because Sequins, imo, are ALWAYS a good idea!) and my flat, floral card is ready to mail.

If sunflowers aren't your thing, I'm pretty confident we've got one or two other items in the Eyelet Outlet Online Store that will appeal. And don't forget to be on the lookout for the EO Booth at a tradeshow near you!

Back To School Fuel!

It is "Back To School" season and a great time time to celebrate teachers and the hard work they do each week!

And who doesn't love coffee?? I love coffee and anytime is a great time to share a coffee gift card with a friend or teacher! In creating my card, I started with using the Coffee Stamp Set and created a background using brown and red. Then I used the Coffee Washi Tape and cut the letters out to spell “TEACHERS”. I did go over the letters with a fine tip black marker to make the letters stand out more. Next, I added my oval stamp, some layering, distressing, and twine. Lastly, I embellished my card using the adorable coffee brads!!

This was a fun card to create and would brighten anyone’s day!

So, brew you a hot cup of coffee and start creating!! Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to shop at the Eyelet Outlet for all your crafting needs!

Happy Crafting!

Shine Bright

I am very excited to share my first card for Eyelet Outlet.
And, this is probably my last summer card for the season.
I am ready to move on after a very hot summer here in the South.

I was inspired by the lighthouse and the sailboat brads from
the Eyelet Outlet to create this late summer scene.
I stamped the scene with StazOn ink and was then able to
use water color and also add the multi-colored sunset.
All of the stamps were from Peddlers Den Stamps.
The title "Shine Bright" was die cut and set off with clear gems.

For the finishing, I framed the image multiple times using
black, white and turquoise papers. When framing out a card
I try to pick colors that coordinate or enhance the card.

Here is the Shopping List From Eyelet Outlet:

Boat and Lighthouse Brads
Jewel Bling (Clear)

I am looking forward to sharing my ideas and the wonderful products
from Eyelet Outlet with you as we head into the Fall and Holiday Season.

New Design Team Members Announcement!

Hello Ai fans! We are very excited to announce that we have added new Design Team members! Susan Creech, Lauren Bergold and Janet Axtman will continue to post on their normal assigned days.

After a long search and many qualified applicants, we selected four wonderfully talented designers and can't wait to see what they create. We know their talents will be a great addition to our blog. Please welcome them!

I live in a small town in South Carolina that is very rich in the arts and has lots of opportunities for art classes. I have been making cards and paper crafts for over 20 years. I am retired now and that allows for lots of time to create, especially in my favorite medium of watercolor. I also teach how to make Ukrainian-style Pysanky eggs. I was lucky to travel to Ukraine before the war and create eggs from a master.

I have been paper crafting for more years than I care to admit, and I love spreading joy by sending cards to friends and family.

Sending A Big Fall Hello!

Hello Ai fans! It's late August and we're starting to get a glimpse of fall in most parts. Fall is one of my favorite themes and this is my first true fall card of the season. There are so many fall related EO brads and washi tape. It's really hard to choose what to use for fall themed projects!

Here's a close up of the leaf, sunflower, scarecrow and lawn brads. The colors are so rich and perfect for all the fall cardstocks you may have in your stash. I also used Pumpkin Washi Tape and orange sequins from the store.

GEAR UP for a Great School Year!

I like to make shaker cards and I like to made shaped cards, so how about a shaped shaker card? I created this for my granddaughter to wish her a great school year, but this card could easily be adapted to a birthday card, too, with a little switch to the sentiment.

I filled the shaker with Eyelet Outlet gear brads (prongs removed for this application so they would shake) and some Eyelet Outlet heart sequins.

I also added some of the Eyelet Outlet eye brads and I think they are absolutely EYE POPPING!

Here's the inside of the my shaped shaker card.

I created this in Cricut Design Space and if you're a Cricut user as well, and would like to make it,  follow the links in the post to find the Eyelet Outlet embellishments used and follow this link to my Cricut Profile where you'll find the file.

Best Fishes

I (Lauren) have made a "Best Fishes" birthday card* for my brother nearly every year for probably a decade. This version features a background made of Ocean Washi, a sentiment diecut from Wood Tape backed with scraps of cardstock, and in the starring role our Eyelet Outlet Fish Brads (they're on sale!), plus some of the Trout from the Trout and Bass set.

Did you know that there's an EO Fish Stamp Set, as well? Plus cute and colorful Fish BradsFishing LuresFishing Poles and several styles of Fish Tape! Check out all of the Fishy Goodness at Eyelet Outlet!

Welcome to Booville!

I have been thinking about my Halloween cards lately and I knew I wanted to do something with a haunted house. I didn't want it to be a scary house though. I think I succeeded with this shaped card. The house is from the Cricut library. I adapted it so it could be a shape card. I used some black Stickles to give the house a little sparkle. It helps I think to make it even less scary.

I used many Halloween products on this card from the store and the Vacuum and Broom Brads which are definitely not typically Halloween. It works though! I even used two Pumpkin Sequins on the stoop.

This was really a lot of fun to create. Notice that the homeowner left her vehicle on the step. I guess if you drive something compact enough, you really don't need a garage! Ha ha ha!

Witch Way To The Candy

I had SO MUCH fun with this one!  I had this idea for a skirt from a rosette and it took a few tries to get the skirt the right size for the rest of the witch and the amazing witch leg brads, but once I got it, I LOVED it!

If you haven't tried the Eyelet Outlet's grass washi tape, please do! You'll thank me later!!  It's got such a nice feel to it and easy to use.  I added some skinny glitter washi tape to the witch's hat as well.

The fence was calling out for a kitten brad, and of course, Eyelet Outlet has those, too!

Thanks for stopping by today!

HB to a T!

Here's a really fun and EASY birthday card idea that can be adapted to use your favorite Eyelet Outlet Brads and Tapes, customized for any recipient! In this case, I (Lauren) used a bunch of older birthday themed brads and the best news of all is that a lot of them are ON SALE! Including Pastel Balloon BradsBirthday Sock MonkeysLollipop Brads and Cupcakes. I've also used Candle BradsParty Hats and Bright Balloon Brads. My background is made from Wide Calendar Tape and my sentiment is Happy Birthday Washi

The tiny shirts were made with a set of nested T-Shirt dies and a bunch of colorful paper scraps, but you could use any small punch or die of a similar size: hearts, stars and tag shapes, for example, would be really fun! And I'm quite sure you can find the perfect Eyelet Outlet Brad and Tape combination for EVERYONE on your birthday card list!

Pretty Floral Thank You

Once in a while I feel like breaking out some lace and flowers and getting all girly. Today is the day! This card features several EO products that make this girly girl card j-u-s-t right!

To start this card, I made an A2 base card. I then cut a background piece out of white cardstock. I placed two strips of Flower Washi Tape - Wide on the piece. The washi tape has a very soft floral pattern with several flowers on top of a script background. On top of that I placed a doily I cut with a pattern from Cricut Design Space. I shaded the edges with Distress Oxide ink. Next came some purple swirl bling at an angle. Then I placed two leaf sprigs and a layered Paper Flower held together with a 12 MM Stippled Brad in Purple. Then I die cut the Thanks sentiment and added a few more leaves before finally adding a purple Stitched Flower - Bright brad.

Witch Shaker Card

Shaker cards are a lot of fun to make and Eyelet Outlet's awesome sequin collection makes filling them even more fun!

Today my witch has gone head first into a cauldron of beautiful purple round sequins and our purple stick on gems are bubbling up around her.  Aren't these witch leg brads just the cutest things ever?  I've also added a witch's hat and a broom brad to this card.

I created this card on my Cricut and if you've got a Cricut and would like to make it, too, I've shared the file for it on my Cricut Profile.

Thanks for stopping by today and if you're in the San Marcos, Texas are this weekend, stop by the vender fair at the Creating Keepsakes Convention and pick up all the brads, gems, and sequins for this card.

Wide Washi Sentiment

I don't think I (Lauren) have ever used the same set of products two weeks in a row, but after I made the Dog Days of Summer card last week, I had a brainstorm about using the combination of Wide Sky Washi and Grass Tape that made up the background with one of my chunkier sets of alphabet dies and making the sentiment BE the scene. So that's what I did:

I neatly applied a piece of Sky Tape to plain white cardstock, then slightly overlapped the Grass Tape on top. I used my Altenew Bold Alpha dies to cut out the word, "Happy" and added White Daisy Brads and a sweet Mini Ladybug to the scene. I applied multiple strips of Brick Tape to another panel of cardstock, making it larger than I needed to mat the first panel, so that I'd have enough extra to cut the word, "Birthday" using my Lawn Fawn Henry's ABCs dies.

To get extra mileage out of your favorite Eyelet Outlet supplies, why not try reversing the way you usually use them... in this case, bring the background into the foreground... and see what happens?!

Chillaxin' at the Beach

Happy Sunday and welcome to a day at the beach! Since I can't make a trip to my happy place, I decided to make a beach scene I wish I could live in! I really enjoyed making this project and it was made extra special with Eyelet Brads and Washi Tapes!

I used the Spellbinder's July Small Die of the Month to make the woman, towel, bag and hat. Her floral swimsuit and matching tote were made with Flower Washi Tape. I first put a strip of the washi on white cardstock and then I cut the pieces with the dies. The flowers are just the perfect size for these pieces.

The water in this background couldn't have been easier. I used two strips of Water Washi Tape. It looks so realistic doesn't it? Then I cut the sand out in kraft cardstock and added texture with fine tipped black and white pens. I attached the lady to the sand and then set the Shell Brads and the Wine Glass Brad.

I applied the sand and lady to the card base overlaying the Water Washi. Then I added two Flip Flop Brads and the Wine Bottle Brad. I added the final sentiment to finish the card.

You Nailed It!

If you're in to shaker cards, you need to check out Eyelet Outlet's sequin selection!  We have every shape and color you can image to fill your shakers.  It's fun to mix them up, too, like I did in the shaker card I have for you today.

My nail polish bottle is filled with all three colors of our heart sequins and round sequins in white and, pink.  I've also added some of our white paper flowers and I used a colored daisy brad in the center and a leaf brad as well.

I hope you'll stop by and see us in person at a Trade Show soon..  See where and when we'll be in a town near you on our web site under the Trade Show tab.

Dog Days of Summer

The best cure for a "ruff" day is a lovely handmade card landing in one's mailbox; not for any particular reason, just because the sender was thinking of you! This one has an extra helping of cuteness thanks to our Eyelet Outlet Puppy Brads and a background made from two strips of extra wide Sky Washi and one of Grass Tape. A sweet Butterfly Brad has flown in to see what's going on.

Check out all of the beautiful new Washi Tapes in the Eyelet Outlet Store; they're the ones at the top of the page with an asterisk next to each!
