Hope Anchors the Soul!

Hello everyone, on this last day of June!  I hope you have had a great week!  My American friends are looking forward to a long holiday weekend and the 4th of July holiday so I'm here with a nautical themed card with red, white and blue accents.  I love nautical cards for Summer, but in a city with a Naval Air Station, you can send nautical cards year round, especially one with this kind of sentiment.

I used a Stampendous stamp set and paper-pieced the sails, sponging the clouds in the sky with a scalloped circle mask.  The focal image is framed along the right side with a trio of anchor brads, and along the bottom with a strip of striped washi tape which, in this clean and simple design, both help to lead the eye toward the sentiment.

Inside, another strip of washi tape forms a border ending with a single anchor.  (If you really like clean and simple designs, this could work for a card front!)

Enjoy your weekend!

Here is my Design Team project...

The stamped sentiment is by Jaded Blossom ~ Dog- Gone Awesome set.

I cut the diagonal sentiment strip cover-up with my Cuttlebug and then I added the popped up fire hydrant in the bottom right corner.

I used the following products from Eyelet Outlet and Brads shop.
They are on sale right now...55% off. What a deal!

Sandcastle

Happy Summertime, Eyelet Outlet Friends!  With the Fourth of July holiday fast approaching, I'm sure some of you hear the beach calling, so today I've got a great little beach card for you featuring a few of the MANY ocean themed brads in the Eyelet Outlet store.

This card is loaded with texture!  My Eyelet Outlet Sandcastle Brad is right in its element perched atop a spot of actual sandpaper from the hardware store and the Blue Swirl Bling served as the perfect wave.

The spot of color and texture from my Eyelet Outlet Beach Umbrella really pulls the eye toward the star of the show, the Sandcastle Brad.

Stop by the Eyelet Outlet store or follow this link to find us in a city near you at an upcoming Trade Shows

An Invitation to Hollywood!

Hello Everyone,

I'm back today with some fun invitations for any Hollywood themed party. I thought for those dress up or Oscar themed parties why not have some Hollywood themed invites! I chose to go with a vintage look for these invitations.

For the first invite I decided to add these Star Brads because they have the perfect worn look for any vintage project. But I also wanted to add a little bling so I added these beautiful Champagne Jewel Bling strips:

For the second invite I was inspired by the old theatre signs that had the individual bulbs surrounding them and used the champagne jewel bling to resemble them:

For the third and final invite I used our awesome Film Strip Washi Tape and Mustache Brads to accent the Charlie Chaplin picture. I inked the film as it's very white and looked better against the worn look of the card. I added the mustache's because too me Charlie Chaplin's mustache was famous  all on its own. And once again I needed a little bling so I added some more Champagne Jewel Bling Strips.

Well I hope you've enjoyed todays project and that it's inspired you to create something of your own.

If you'd like to see more of my projects you can check out my Blog and if you'd like to watch some video tutorials on some of my projects you can check out my Youtube Channel.

Summer Lovin'

If I (Lauren) had to sum up everything I love about summer in just *ONE* card, this might be the card I'd choose. Because it has sunshinebeach vibes, super-cool flamingos, my favorite color (PINK!) and of course let's not forget a sweet treat, lol! To top it all off, I've managed to express almost all of these loves using Eyelet Outlet Brads! ♥

I've always enjoyed participating in the Coffee Loving Cardmakers' seasonal bloghops, but I confess it's even more fun more now that I make a point of keeping Eyelet Outlet Coffee Brads and Doughnut Brads on hand, and you can see I've given them a starring role in my card. I've also got Sun and Cloud Brads, a Sandcastle Brad, a Tall Palm Tree Brad, and I've arranged them all as three loving couples against some little diecut hearts. To set off the whole group, I popped the hearts up a bit on a little foam tape, so we could better see that strip of beautiful Flamingo Washi Tape, accented with just the tiniest peep of Glitter Gold Tape. I hand-stamped "Summer Lovin'"with a favorite cursive font and called it done!

While I was feeling "in the pink" I made a second card, using one of the beautiful wide watercolor tapes we had this spring, which also happens to feature flamingos. This particular tape sold out fast (well just look at it!) but this simple idea would work equally well with the Flamingo Washi I used above, or with this other fab Flamingo Tape. You could also rock this with Watercolor Flowers,(I've fussy-cut one of them, to be my flower center!) ButterfliesBirds, or even these beautiful Sewing Machines

There are so many good tapes... you should probably browse the category while you're there! Be sure to grab some Paper Flowers and Jewel Bling Strips, too-- they go with EVERYTHING! And finally, it's gonna be a long, hot summer: you're bound to need Summer Vacation Brads! ♥

does not actually have a pet flamingo... yet!

A Girly Monster Card

Guess what time it is? 12.01 p.m. Tuesday!! and my time to post on the Eyelet Outlet Blog!! Let me tell you it's so great when you can use a few brads, a bit of bling and some paper flowers ( all from the Eyelet Outlet Storeto make a card because I left my markers at home this weekend.

Since most guys (no matter what age) don't like flowers I decided to make this a blingy, girly monster card.  Those monster paper flowers from the Eyelet Outlet Store are so cute and are a perfect match for the Eyelet Outlet monster brads  The two smaller flowers are flat attached and the center one is popped up, when I finished I knew it needed some bling so I grabbed the Jewel Strips you can find them in all colours and in pearls too at the Eyelet Outlet store.  and added them to the edges of the blue layer and dotted a few inside the circles of the embossing.

close up of two of the monster brads and the flowers

check out how awesome those rhinestones are.

Eyelet Outlet items I used
there are many, many designs and solid colours too.

You really need to check out all the fabulous products the Eyelet Outlet has to offer.
That's all for now, see you again next Tuesday at 12.01 p.m. PDT.

New York, New York

I love drawing inspiration from the world around me ... this week my inspiration comes from ... a Kleenex Box.  Yes, I have been known to buy a box of Kleenex just because of the art on the box ... especially when it is a gorgeous picture of the Statue of Liberty.

The colors in the art were perfect to embellish with all sorts of Eyelet Outlet goodies.  I started with Jewel Purple Swirl Bling to frame the left side and top (I love cutting apart my swirls and reassembling them to get the shapes I want ... it gives you so much design flexibility).

Next I added some New York Washi Tape along the bottom and embellished it with the larger (5mm) Green Jewel Strips to pull out the green in the background of the design (because the strips are attached with bits of glue between the gems, it makes it so easy to trim to the length you want & attach them straight).

I thought I was done with my card, but then I saw my the gorgeous paper flowers in my stash, and decided a few layers of those would be the perfect finishing touch.  I combined three different colors & topped my blooms with a gorgeous flower jewel.

Like You and Me

Hi there!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards.  For my design team post today, I decided to use the Bacon, Egg & Toast Brad pack.  They were so cute, I simply couldn't resist using them!

On this card, I used only the bacon and eggs; but I plan on using the toast soon on another card.  I just thought this card was good without a side of toast!

I found the perfect digital paper to complement these brads from the Rise & Shine pack by Northern Whimsy.  I print and cut that first and then color matched it to the card stock.  I cut the card base using a flip card cut file purchased in the Silhouette store.

The plate was cut using Glossy Paper (photo paper) and the flatware was cut from Brushed Silver.  Here's a closer look at the plate on its own little place mat...makes you hungry, doesn't it?  The EO store also has Silverware Brads which would have worked perfectly.  Alas, I didn't have them in my stash...how did THAT happen??

The greeting and sentiment were printed, color matched to the red using the AR Cena font.  Here's a picture of the sentiment when you flip the card:

The area where there was no patterned paper looked a little plain to me, so I embossed it with a Dotted Swiss border embossing folder to simulate the dots in the patterned paper.

That's it for this card.  I'm off to get some breakfast as I'm suddenly craving bacon and eggs!

Who provided the inspiration for these cards?  Katy did!
