Be My Valentine

Today's card entitled, "Be My Valentine" provides a sweet sentiment and is perfect for children to give each other or ideal for their parents or grandparents on Valentine's Day.

The card begins with festive paper and is complemented by the background heart (by Crafter's Companion) and the stamped image (by Waffle Flower).  The Eyelet Outlet Balloons are key to providing the whimsy and serve as the finishing touch with their glossy primary colors.

No heart die nor stamped image?  No problem!  The card can be just as effective with the balloons in the middle of the card and the sentiment crossing over the balloon strings.

TIP:  Did you know that if you are in need of balloon brads but are out of them or want variation in the balloon shapes, you can use the Eyelet Outlet Ornament Brads?  Just turn the ornament brads upside down and tie on a string.   Without much effort you have a perfectly round balloon!

Head on over to the Eyelet Outset site and pick up your balloons and ornaments as there's still time to make those precious Valentine's Day cards!

I'm Pulling For You

Some days are an uphill battle, so send someone you love some encouragement today with a cute card using Eyelet Outlet tractor brads.

The sentiment for my card comes from the Cricut's "Just Because Cards."  The hay bales that I put on my trailer are from Cricut's "County Fair" image set.

I love the Eyelet Outlet cow brads.  Today our cow looks like he's definitely pulling for the tractor driver to bring her that hay bale!  😀  I've also used a couple of Eyelet Outlet tree brads on my card - the pine tree brad as well as one of the summer tree brads.  Breaking up the green hillside landscape, I used a wide dotted green washi tape with a skinny washi tape in lighter green dotted pattern on top of it.

Keep on crafting, friends and be sure to stop by Eyelet Outlet and see all of our awesome products!

Seriously...

Here's a shocking true confession: I (Lauren) am a bit of a coffee fiend. So when I saw this fun (and accurate!) sentiment on a t-shirt, I knew I had to pull out my Eyelet Outlet Coffee Brads and make a card.

I had originally planned to add some Donut Brads too, but in the end I settled for Coffee Beans on the card and Donut Washi Tape in the background. I printed the sentiment on a clear inkjet label using two free fonts: Bohemian Typewriter and Cafe Rojo.

And now who will join me in a cup of coffee?!

has never really seen
the point of decaf.

Happy Together

Show a little love to your little ones with the Polar Bear brad set from Eyelet Outlet.

Here are some tips on how to use washi tape in creative ways.
Lay it down on card stock to create "glitter paper."  Then, use dies and punches to create new shapes. The HAPPY  and gold hearts are made from our washi tape.  So is the wavy snow drifts!

Chillin' With You

Today's card entitled "Chillin' With You' is not the typical Valentine's Day card; it has no pink, red, flowers, nor any hearts!  It's a Valentine's card to honor our friendships.

This card, featuring Eyelet Outlet's beautiful penguin and polar bear brads, delivers a simple message:  "I like chillin' with you"! and the inside of the card says "Happy Valentine's Day".

Looking through my stamp sets, I found the sentiment (by Stamps of Life) and thought it was perfect for the penguin to convey his thoughts to the polar bear!  From that point it was easy to create a snowy background with Eyelet Outlet White Pearls and ice glitter (by Stampin' Up).  The pond (by Paper Crafting Essentials stamp) was a great place to complete the scene.  The bow may be omitted or replaced with some cording or baker's twine.

The penguin and polar bear brads are so much fun to work with!  I am excited to work with them on future cards and encourage everyone to hop on over to the Eyelet Outlet site to pick up their penguins, bears, pearls, and more.   There's still time to create your special Valentine's Friendship cards!

I Love You, Honey!

Last week I showed you our new Polar Bear Brads, and this week I thought I'd show you a card using our Brown Bear Brad.

When I think of brown bears, my mind turns to Pooh Bear and his love for honey, so I knew I'd need to pair our brown bear with some of our mini bee brads!  The honey hive is an image from the Cricut image library (Makers Gonna Make cartridge).

I love that the Eyelet Outlet enamel hearts come in such a variety of colors!  Whatever color scheme you choose for your project, we've got hearts to compliment it!  Here I've used the yellow hearts.

I'm glad you came by today!  Enjoy the day, crafty friends!

So BEARY Cute!

There are new (adorable!) Polar Bear Brads at Eyelet Outlet and I (Lauren) just could not wait to make some fun and wintery Valentines!

I formatted the sentiment on my computer using two free fonts (Bohemian Typewriter and Manuscript) then opted to swap out the word "Together" for alphabet stickers in foam and fabric covered chipboard. I made the mostly-white card first, because I wanted to pair the Polars with our Snowflake Bling and Snowflake Tape. But then I wondered if the result was maybe a little too monochromatic??

So for my second card I decided to add in a pop of red in the form of some nice bold mats, plus a background of Tiny Heart Washi and a base of Checked Tape behind the Polar Bears. A few Snowflake Brads later I was calling it done!

I hope you'll be inspired to make some BEARY cute Valentines with your favorite Eyelet Outlet Brads and Tape! ♥

hopes never to live in a place where
she might see actual polar bears irl!!!

A Little Pickup

This week's card entitled "A Little Pickup" is a fast and easy masculine get-well card.  Yes, indeed, it's fast and easy!  What makes it so fast.....did you know that Eyelet Outlet carries their own stamp sets?  Yes, and pair that with a Red Truck Brad and paper of choice, you'll have a card in no time.

1.  Select two or three coordinating papers of choice appropriate for a masculine card.  (My first strip is 1/4", the plaid is 2", the second dark strip is 1/8", the light green solid is 2 3/8" and the final dark strip is 1/4"; these measurements are dependent upon the size card used.) Cut paper and adhere to card.

2.  Using the Eyelet Outlet Truck Stamp Set, stamp the little pickup sentiment on the card as shown.

3.  Create a double or triple mat (as desired) and pop up an Eyelet Outlet Red Truck Brad on the mat.  Adhere the mat to the card below the sentiment.  Add an Eyelet Outlet Jewel Bling on each side of the truck if desired.

Final Step:  use a stamp of choice or hand print 'get well soon' in the lower portion of the card.

The card is complete and ready for your hand-written and/or stamped message on the inside.  The recipient will not only have a laugh, but also appreciate the work you've done to show you're thinking of them during a challenging time.

Let's GO!

(Lauren) am taking you on a (metaphorical) road trip today, because my Eyelet Outlet Classic Car Brads are all revved up and ready to roll!

Possibly my all-time favorite type of "found" paper is old maps. They are great in collage, they are terrific as giftwrap (the big folding ones, especially!) and they are fantastic background for a masculine card! You don't need a particularly old map, even quite recent ones can be lovely and thanks to all the GPS-users today, you can often get an armful of maps at a garage sale for a dollar or so. The other vintage ingredients I used are a few playing cards from a game called "Touring"; an incomplete set of which I was given for Christmas from someone who knows how much I love old paper, lol. As soon as I saw the road trip motif I knew they would be awesome with the Classic Car Brads and I stand by that belief! Since they were the size of standard playing cards I needed to trim them down in order to fit a few of my favorite bits onto one A2 sized card. I fussycut the traffic light and added a Compass Brad to the center circle.

I matted my trimmed-down mini cards, as well as the map panel, on cardstock I adorned with strips of Glitter Silver Tape. I ran a strip of Tire Track Washi Tape around the center of the card and at the very end I added a few Star BradsEt voila

I bet you have some outdated maps and maybe even a game or two which doesn't have all its parts. I also bet you could match them to some Eyelet Outlet Brads and Washi Tape to make a beautiful and unique card for someone special! ♥

...is an excellent driver!

Be Mine

Every once in a while something comes along that provides an immediate spark of inspiration and for me, the Eyelet Outlet White Pearl Hearts did just that.  The Pearl Hearts are not only beautiful, but they provide a classic sense of romance perfect for Valentine's Day cardmaking.

Today's card entitled "Be Mine" is an elegant Valentines Card for that special someone!  The main focus are the three Pearl Hearts recessed on an elephant grey background.

The card is accented on the left with Eyelet Outlet Grey Pearls placed on top of a holographic mylar strip for that extra sparkle.  With the soft pink, linen-look card surface, the iridescent bow, the mini iridescent hearts, and the Crafter's Companion lettering, the card is ready for delivery!

There's only one thing left to say.....don't forget the chocolates!

No LION! You're Great!

I've got Valentines on my mind today and I'm crazy about incorporating Eyelet Outlet brads into them!  Today's Valentine features the King of the Jungle, the lion brad!

How about a little "Throw Back Thursday" today?

A couple of years ago I put together a little kit so that my great niece could make her own Valentines Day cards for her class party at school.  She had so much fun with this project! Using my Cricut I cut out a two layered heart image. I attached the text to the white heart layers and used the print-then-cut feature in Cricut Design Space.  I punched all the holes where the brads would be placed and she matched up the brads with the valentines and glued the red heart frame to the cards.

Here's a photo of some of the finished ones.

You'll find more punny Valentines and many fabulous projects by the Eyelet Outlet Design Team all in one place on our Pinterest page!
