Welcome Little One

Today's card, "Welcome Little One", is a unique and precious baby card featuring the Eyelet Outlet Chick brads.

When I first saw the Eyelet Outlet Chick brads, they appeared so life like that the first thought was a sweet baby card with pink, blue, and ribbons.  Oh no, that's not the direction this card took!  Rifling through my paper stash, I saw the barn wood/straw papers and then this card idea came together rather quickly.

The eggs are from an electric die cutting machine, however, could be hand cut or created with a die.  Don't forget to add a soft grey to the edges of the eggs to provide depth and dimension.  Two Eyelet Outlet Grey Pearls accent the Lawn Fawn sentiment and add some refinement against the rough barn wood.

Go on over to the Eyelet Outlet site and gather up your Chick Brads, bling, and more.  You'll be glad you did!

Happy Crafting!

Love Potion #9

Have you seen Eyelet Outlet's new SEQUINS?!  I've always admired shaker cards and have wanted to try making one, but never have, that is, until now!

Here is my first attempt!  I used my Cricut to cut the shape of the bottle into the card.  These are definitely fun cards to make and I can see more in my future, for sure!  Look at all of of the beautiful colors of sequins to choose from to fill the shaker!

I love the way that darling frog brad is waiting to turn into a handsome prince with his crown hovering above his head, don't you?  I topped this card off with one of colorful enamel hearts and a little bit more sparkle from some stick on bling.

Thanks for being here today and I hope you enjoy the rest of the day doing something you love!

Chick or Treat

Everyone wants to meet some cute chicks, especially at Eastertime, right? So I (Lauren) am happy to introduce you to our brand new, totally adorable, Eyelet Outlet Chick Brads!

I can never resist a diabolical pun, so as soon as I paired the Chicks with the Colored Eggs I knew what the sentiment had to be! I also added a plain white Egg Brad to which I gave a substantial "crack" with permanent marker, a Mini Stitched Flower Brad and a Heart Enamel. To make a fun coordinating background I neatly lined up strips of Pink and Green ZigZag Tape on some plain white cardstock, then trimmed it to size like any other patterned paper.

Of course, not everyone celebrates Easter, but that doesn't mean they have to miss out on colorful cardmaking fun. For my second card I added more Chicks and Colored Eggs to a journal card with the perfect sentiment, and to turn it into a little scene I punched some grass and affixed Sun and Cloud Brads to the top corner. A small Pink Pearl to dot the "i" finishes the whole thing off nicely.

No matter what holidays you're looking forward to this Spring, I bet Eyelet Outlet has Brads and Tape that will help make your cards EGG-stra special! :)

Hi There!

Today's card entitled "Hi There!" is a reminder that Spring is coming soon!  Although Easter is seven weeks away, it's time to get those Easter cards ready.  Here's an Easter shaker card featuring Eyelet Outlet chick brads that's fun and interactive.

This week I wanted to create a 'happy' card featuring the Eyelet Outlet chicks brads.  My immediate thought is a shaker card creating an interactive aspect to the card and bringing focus to these delightful chick brads.  It all starts by selecting a colorful background paper with lots of spring flowers and a bit of glitter adding a fun factor to the card.

The next step is to build the shaker and apply it to the card.  Add the chick brads and then have fun adding a variety of glittery bits such as sequins, micro beads, and larger beads in various shapes and colors that compliment the paper.

The final step is to add the gold glitter dots and an interesting sentiment.  Hmmm...are the chicks speaking to each other?  Perhaps, you decide!

Whether this card is placed in an Easter basket or mailed to family and friends, give this card a try and shake, shake, shake!

Happy Easter

It's a wet and chilly day here in Central Texas, but Spring is in the air at Eyelet Outlet!  We have some of the prettiest Spring washi tapes and fabulous Spring themed brads you will find anywhere and today I'll be showing you just a few.

I started out with this cute "Easter" border from Cricut's "Celebrate All Year Long," image set, not really knowing what I'd use as a background paper.  I tried a number of different colors and patterns, but then I spied this gorgeous wide floral washi tape on my craft table and knew it would be perfect peeking out from behind the Easter eggs.

What's Easter without some chocolate bunnies?  Our little chocolate bunny brads are so cute alongside our Easter egg brads, don't you think?

See you next week!  Until then, keep on crafting!

Hello Spring!

Today's card entitled Hello Spring is a representation of the season to come!  We've had a mild, dreary winter this year, but that doesn't mean that we aren't looking forward to the blue skies and sunshine, so here's a preview!

We have another month or so of winter, but Eyelet Outlet's birds, mini ladybugs, mini ants, brown rabbits, and pastel rabbits are ready to create a scene welcoming Spring.   This note card is versatile and may be sent to friends, relatives, hospital or nursing home residents or those that are home bound.  Surely, it will bring a smile to their face as we head into Spring.

Cute as a Bug

Happy Thursday, crafters!  Today I have a couple of cards that are cute as a bug!  It was hard to decide between Eyelet Outlet's mini ladybug brads and the mini ant brads, so problem solved!  I made two cards!

The magnifying glass is from Cricut's Classroom Icons image set.  I just love the little chubby fingers on this hand image which is from A Child's Year image set.  The smiling ladybug and wide eyed ant images are Miss Kate's Cuttable images and available in the Cricut image library. I used foil iron-on and my Cricut Easy Press for the sentiment.  I've really been having fun lately using iron-on materials on card stock!

I love the way the mini ant brad and mini ladybug brad look under the magnifying glass, don't you?  I embellished the smiling ladybug with Eyelet Outlet heart brads on her antennas and I used Eyelet Outlet eye brads on my big-eyed ant.  Those eyes really popped!!  He's holding an Eyelet Outlet enamel heart in his hands, too.

See all the Eyelet Outlet Bugs & Critters at EyeletOutlet.com!  Until next week, happy Valentine's Day!

Hoppy, Hoppy, Hoppy...

...Valentine's Day! Just in case you need a few fast card ideas before Friday, I (Lauren) have three takes on HOPPI-ness, Eyelet Outlet style!

My first card features the ever-adorable Frog Brads, on a background of Cloud Washi and Water Tape, with half a Paper Flower serving as a lilypad. I used nested heart dies to trim my little scene into an appropriate Valentine shape, and added my sentiment with mixed letter stickers. At the very end, I added three white Heart Pearls.

It's less obvious at first, but beer can also be described as "HOPPY" so my second card features one of the bottles and a mug from our Beer Brads on a background of Beer Tape, sitting on a bar made of Hardwood Floor Washi. A few yellow Heart Enamels and we were good to go!

Heading back into cuuuuuute territory, this sweet little pair of Rabbit Brads (the packs contain both styles) is surrounded by diecut hearts made of Tiny Heart Washi and Checked Tape, with a couple of Heart Brad accents.

Eyelet Outlet has a brad (and a style of tape!) to make a card that embodies pretty much ANY diabolical pun you can devise. For Valentine's Day, St. Pat's, Easter and beyond! ♥

wishes you the very
HOPPIEST
of Valentine's Days!

Cardinal Valentine

Today's card entitled "Cardinal Valentine" is a simple Valentine's Day card displaying a winter scene featuring Eyelet Outlet Cardinals.  It's another non-traditional Valentine's Day card!

Although the background paper brings the beauty of a winter scene, it's the Eyelet Outlet Cardinals that bring the dimension, beauty, and realism to the card.  The base paper of weathered wood provides additional interest, however, this card definitely takes a 'less-is-more' approach!

Today's card is for Valentine's Day, but the sentiment may be changed out to be a get-well card, thinking of you card, or a note card.  This versatility means that making a few cards to have on hand will save time later.

Juggling It All

Today's make is a tribute to my amazing daughters who manage their busy lives like professional jugglers!

I chose a juggling animal (in high heels no less!) from Cricut's Birthday Bash image set, but instead of balls, I substituted several different Eyelet Outlet brads to represent just a few of the things these two gals successfully juggle in their daily lives, from diapers to dinner and everything in between!

It was honestly hard to narrow down the brads to use in this card, because there are so many in the Eyelet Outlet store that would have been perfect, but for the sake of space, I decided on the diaper pin, books, soccer ball, vacuum cleaner and saucepan.  I substituted the original party hat on the image with an Eyelet Outlet party hat and used our enamel dots for buttons.

Tell someone you love that's juggling it all how much you admire them today!

Inspired by... Catalogs?

Ideas can literally come from ANYWHERE, but one of my (Lauren's) --perhaps surprising-- sources are the silly t-shirts in novelty catalogs. I can't actually imagine BUYING such a shirt, but it's unusual for me to flick through and not see something I think would make a fun card. In this case, since I knew I had a couple of varieties of Eyelet Outlet Brads which would work perfectly (Kitten Brads and Long Cats) I've made two!

EDITED:  Lauren has generously shared her quote in two fonts on the Freebie page...check the tab at the top of the blog! Thanks, Lauren!!

I've used the Kitten Brads as accents quite a few times (especially on Halloween cards!) but I'm glad they are finally getting their starring role. I made a base of Coloring Book Washi, mounted it on a panel of Big Dot Tape and finally added a small pink heart from the Multicolor Enamel Set. My sentiment is in a free font called AR Cena.

My second card uses a free font called AR Bonnie because I liked how its super skinny line paired perfectly with the Long Cat Brads. These guys are on clearance, which is happy because they're only $1.09 but sad because when we run out, they won't be coming back. I matted the sentiment on a panel with Geometric Tape and made the background from Paw Tape.

I hope you'll be inspired by something random and wonderful today... and then I bet we have some Eyelet Outlet Brads and Tape that will help make it into the perfect card!

is pretty sure she gets
EVERY catalog in the world!

A trio of cards

Look who has popped up on our radar!
Jeanette, of Cre8tive Play, with a trio of cards!

The above card is a great way to use our washi tape.
The large panel on top is a great canvas for our decorative brads!

Spring is just around the corner...
so feel free to show a little warmth with these Puppy and Blue Bird brads!
The washi tape makes as great ground line.
Plus, our enamel dots come in various sheens: shiny, glitter, mat!

Just love how she pairs the Bear and Poloar Bear brads together in this
card with a fun sentiment!  The snowflake brads make a great addition to the decorative paper.
Enamel hearts...always in style!

So glad to see that our products being used out there!
