Haunted House Hallow

Do you like haunted houses? I most definitely DO NOT. The only ones that I can handle are the ones I build with paper…lol. I know what it is lurking behind every corner. And in this week’s creation, there are plenty of scary surprises hiding all over.

This spectacular feat of a creation took me over two days to complete. Between the cutting of the hundreds of pieces, the embossing and inking of the pieces and the actual assembly, this haunted house was the most labor and time intensive piece I’ve ever created, and I am pretty thrilled on how it turned out.

Being approximately 8” deep and 10” tall, I knew Eyelet Outlet and I were going to have some fun
accessorizing. It’s like earrings, you never leave your haunted house unaccessorized.  πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

After I assembled it, I added spiderwebs all over made from Q-Tips. Some of the webs even have spooky spiders waiting for a moth to unexpectedly get trapped. There is even a spider coming down from the roof to check on her egg sack.

One the very top in the wrought iron dΓ©cor, is a ghost peeking over to see who dares to enter.

Looking to the left, two spooky eyeballs are glaring out. I would hate to see who, or what, those eyes
belong to.

Those aren’t the only eyes protecting the house. There are six other sets of red Bling eyes.
Can you find them all?

Looking at the base of the house, you will see a layer of aged bricks from Bricks Washi Tape.

If you dare to approach the front door, two blood red Bling jewels help coax, I mean, guide you in.

Once you are walking up the stairs, make sure you look down to the right. It looks like the house may
have landed on a wicked witch!!! I don’t think we are in Kansas anymore!

The wrap around porch has a handmade paper rocker and another blood red Bling doorknob.

If you do dare to visit the haunted house, make sure you do it during the day because at night is a
WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY!

Several LED tealight candles light up the windows and look who is peacefully sitting in her rocker…. it’s MOTHER! I advise staying out of that room for sure!

This is enough scary for me. I will stick with the candy parts of Halloween! Hope you enjoyed this one!
Happy Halloween everyone and save your Kit Kats for MEEEEE! 😁😁

Halloween Shakers

There is finally a chill in the air which means only one thing...HALLOWEEN IS COMING!!
It is one of my absolute favorite holidays. You are SUPPOSED to eat candy!!! YESSSSS Please!
In honor of the upcoming scrumptious holiday, I decided to make a Halloween Shaker card!  I love making shaker cards and this one has a little Stacy-tude added.

I created the base by blending purple, orange and lime green inks to give it a fun feel. I created three separate shakers on this card – the candy corn, the bat and the witch’s hat. Inside each shaker are little, tiny bats, ghosts and BOOs.

BUT the coolest part of the shakers is when you turn off the lights! They GLOW IN THE DARK!

I knew Eyelet Outlet would have the most perfect embellishments to make this card perfect.  I added several Spooky Eye Brads, a few Pumpkin Brads,  and a Jewel Brad on the which’s hat.
To make the edges pop, I added Black Pearl Bling and Orange Jewel Bling.

This was a fun and easy card to make, and I love how the extra details I added from EO really brings this card to the next level.

Have a wonderful week and always be STRATE-UP CRAFTY!

Think Outside the ROCKS

We all know how awesome all the embellishments from Eyelet Outlet are on regular crafting surfaces, but this week, I decided to think outside the rocks…oops…I mean, box.

I used ROCKS as my surface this week!!!  How fun is that?!?!

I’ve heard about people decorating rocks and leaving them in places outside for others to find and since I love to make folks smile, I decided to decorate some rocks of my own and place them somewhere in town.

I picked up a few smooth rocks and acrylic paints from my local craft store, got some inspiration from Pinterest and I was off!

The cute ROCK-o-Lantern is sporting a perfectly themed Witches Hat Brad.  Hanging off the hat is a Mini Spider Brad along with a eerie Ghost Brad and a single Spooky Eye Brad. What a fun little project this is to do with the kids or grandkids on those rainy fall days!

The next rock was used to create a campsite. After painting the ground, sky, and a few evergreens, I added a tent and campfire from the Camping Brads, a few Pine Tree Brads and of course, a soaring bald eagle from the Eagle Brads. To finish it off, I added some Orange bling for the stars.

Now, I’ll be the first to tell you that painting is not my strong suit but by adding all the adorable embellishments, I think they look pretty darn good.

This was a fun and easy crafting project suitable for all ages.  Go to Eyelet Outlet and pick up your embellishments and go ROCK the town!!

Time to Snag a Sale Item!!

If you don't have a couple of packs of Eyelet Outlet's
Spook Eye Brads, creep on over to the online store.
They are on sale this week!

While you are at it, might as well pick up some
Small Eye Brads and glitter washi tape in a rainbow of colors.
Here I used a black and turquoise for the main panel.

The black was run through a texturizing folder for added interest and looks
amazing IRL!

Who are you haunting this season?

Scaring Up Some More Halloween Inspiration

Hi!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards with a few more Halloween cards to share.  My first card provides the "perfect recipe" for some Halloween fun.  We have Monster Mash, Pickled Eyes, and Spider Legs on the menu today!

I used the Monster, Small Eye, and Spider brads as well as Medium Jewel Bling Strips and Jewel Bling Strips and Glitter Black Washi.

To make the card, I used a cut file purchased in the Silhouette store.  I used card stock from Stampin' Up and a digital patterned paper was used to fill that panel behind the potions.  Speaking of the background, I placed the Jewel Bling randomly on the stars.  The Glitter Washi was used on the bottle corks and as the shelf on which the potions sit.

And here's the sentiment I created for inside the card:

Next up, we have a nighttime walk; which can be pretty scary, especially around Halloween.  This card was simple to put together; so if you like Halloween cards, but don't feel like you have the time to make them, this would be a good option.

I used the Spooky Eye brads for this card as well as the Small Eye brads...'cause you just have to have a cyclops or two on Halloween.  You'd need two packs to duplicate this look.  In fact, I want to go back and add another set of eyes in that open spot I didn't notice until I looked at the picture.  If you'd like the template for this nighttime walking pair, you'll find it on the Freebies page or just link from the toolbar above.

Here's what I did inside the card; another set of eyes and a little poem.

Well, that's it for today!
