Let's Talk Turkey!

Hi everyone! It's almost time to Talk Turkey!

These two birds are trying their best to blend into the Thanksgiving table without giving away that their true identity! I love the look on those faces made possible with Small Eye Brads. Read the caption and you'll know why they look a little bug eyed!

I wanted to add feathers to one of these turkeys and I found the perfect solution in EO's Pastel Leaf Brads. You never know how your brads can be reimagined.

Utensil Brads are placed near the caption and I used Orange Pearl Bling to further decorate this card. I think it'll bring a little mirth into Thanksgiving Day!

Trick or Treat!

My husband and I used to live in a town where Halloween was a very big deal! We loved sitting out in lawn chairs each year passing out tons of candy to the kids who entertained us with the most creative costumes we've ever seen.  We miss those days now that we live way out in the country on a private road and the trick-or-treaters don't come by.

Today's make reminded me of those happy times.  It's a side edge card that I created in Cricut Design Space.  The mummy image was cute on it's own, but when I added the Eyelet Outlet eye brads, it really took him to a new level.

Inside his Halloween treat bucket is one of the new black cat brads going along for a ride.  I also added a bat brad to the moon in the background.

If you're a Cricut crafter and would like to give this project a try, here's a link to the Design Space file. I'd love for you to follow my Cricut profile, too!

These Valentines Will BLOW YOU AWAY!

Classroom Valentines often need to be non-food treats and I have two cute ones for you today that will "Blow You Away!"

First up is a cute little felt tissue holder that I embellished with a funny face and Cricut infusible ink transfer sheet. Infusible ink works great on acrylic felt, by the way!  The tissue holder fit perfectly into a regular zipper snack bag and I created a little topper for the bag that I embellished with a heart brad and a tissue box brad from Eyelet Outlet.  I created this entire project on my Cricut Maker and if you're a Cricut crafter and would like to give it a try, too, Here's the link to the file that I shared in the Cricut Community.

Next up is a funny little Valentine with a bookmark who's embellished with small eye brads and eyeglasses from Eyelet Outlet.  I also added a little black enamel heart.  I've shared this file on my Cricut profile as well.

Thanks for stopping in today and be sure and stay tuned because coming soon there will be new brads revealed that we're super excited about!!

Welcome to Booville!

I have been thinking about my Halloween cards lately and I knew I wanted to do something with a haunted house. I didn't want it to be a scary house though. I think I succeeded with this shaped card. The house is from the Cricut library. I adapted it so it could be a shape card. I used some black Stickles to give the house a little sparkle. It helps I think to make it even less scary.

I used many Halloween products on this card from the store and the Vacuum and Broom Brads which are definitely not typically Halloween. It works though! I even used two Pumpkin Sequins on the stoop.

This was really a lot of fun to create. Notice that the homeowner left her vehicle on the step. I guess if you drive something compact enough, you really don't need a garage! Ha ha ha!

I Like You A BOT

It's time to get it in GEAR, crafters and start your Valentine projects. I had so much fun creating this robot treat box for the little ones in my life who I "like a BOT!"

I created this little guy with two different boxes from the Cricut image library and borrowed a couple of other parts from other Cricut robots for his arms, mouth, and antenna.

I love that he has moveable arms with the help of some Eyelet Outlet round brads and both the head and body opens to hold plenty of treats.

Halloween Fun!

Hi everyone! If you celebrate Halloween, now is the time to start planning for the cards you want to give. Today's card shows how quick and easy it is to put together a Halloween card that mixes a little scary with a little whimsical. I personally love using a Small Eye brad on the paper bow on this card. It makes it perfectly clear that the design doesn't take itself very seriously.

I used two skinny glitter washi tapes on either side of the Halloween Washi Tape. I embossed a piece of gold cardstock with a web embossing folder and used a little gilding wax to add some shine. The Mini Spider brads go perfectly on the embossed webs and they blend in nicely with the web and spider sticker. A Ghost Brad and Green Pearl Bling are the finishing touches.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I invite you to visit the store and stock up on your own Halloween stash. Don't forget that all these embellishments work fantastic on treat bags, tags and other Halloween crafts.

Happy Creating Everyone!

Cute as a Bug

Happy Thursday, crafters!  Today I have a couple of cards that are cute as a bug!  It was hard to decide between Eyelet Outlet's mini ladybug brads and the mini ant brads, so problem solved!  I made two cards!

The magnifying glass is from Cricut's Classroom Icons image set.  I just love the little chubby fingers on this hand image which is from A Child's Year image set.  The smiling ladybug and wide eyed ant images are Miss Kate's Cuttable images and available in the Cricut image library. I used foil iron-on and my Cricut Easy Press for the sentiment.  I've really been having fun lately using iron-on materials on card stock!

I love the way the mini ant brad and mini ladybug brad look under the magnifying glass, don't you?  I embellished the smiling ladybug with Eyelet Outlet heart brads on her antennas and I used Eyelet Outlet eye brads on my big-eyed ant.  Those eyes really popped!!  He's holding an Eyelet Outlet enamel heart in his hands, too.

Three Eyed Monster

I decided to play around a little with a shaped card today.  They are really pretty simple to make with Cricut Design Space!  For this monster shaped card I used a monster from the Autumn Celebrations image set.  I used Eyelet Outlet Small Eye Brads to really add some EYE POPPING interest to the font of my card!

To create the card base, I ungrouped the layers in the image and duplicated the bottom shadow layer.  I flipped the duplicated image vertically, then lined the two up until they just touched one another.

Then I selected both images and used the weld function to join them together.

I couldn't resist embellishing the inside of my card with a couple cute Eyelet Outlet Monster Brads!

I also used a drawn image from Cricut's Monster Icons & Printables image set to add my greeting.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Double, Double, Toil and Trouble

The days are getting shorter and Halloween is getting closer, but there's still time to make and send cards... a job which is much easier with some creepy cute seasonal brads from Eyelet Outlet on hand! The brand new Ghosts are of course the stars of this year's Halloween season, but that doesn't mean that I (Lauren) should neglect my old favorites:

I was excited to find these cute potion bottle diecuts in a pack of Halloween goodies, they really inspired my whole card. The bottle with the eyeballs clearly needed some Small Eye Brads, but the others just had bubbling liquids, so I was able to get a bit creative. I will confess right now that the bottle of frogs, starring the adorable Frog Brads are my favorite thing on this card. Maybe even my favorite thing on ANY Halloween card I've ever made? I added Mini Spiders to one of the small jars and a full sized Spider Brad has clearly escaped from... somewhere... (*shiver*) I made my sentiment using a free font called "Sweet Hipster". A little cluster of purple clouds, positioned slightly behind the sentiment, with a pair of Bats completes the design.

I hope you will have as frightfully fun a time making your own Halloween cards as I did making mine! ♥

WITCH Way... to the Candy?

Halloween is fast approaching, but there's still plenty of time to grab some awesome Eyelet Outlet goodies to make your cards even more BOO-tiful! There is a spooktacular selection of seasonal brads in the shop, of which I (Lauren) have used only a few, including: the brand new-- and utterly awesome-- Witch Leg BradsWitch HatsMini SpidersMini Candy CornBats and Small Eye Brads.

Of course it didn't hurt that I unearthed an ancient sheet of patterned paper that had the sweet circle icons of witches, spiders and monsters, all ready for me to embellish!

But the ideas in this card would work with loads of papers and stamps. ANY small witch (or other animal, monsta or person) could wear the Hats (the packets contain all four styles); the Small Eyes have both sizes together and could be swapped out for the eyes of many stamped creatures.

In addition to the brads on my card, there are also Monsters, full-sized Spiders (to go with the Minis)Kitten Brads (they come as a mix of black and white, each in two positions) and lots more!

There are so many good Halloween choices in the Eyelet Outlet Store it's almost *SCARY*!

...does not recommend inviting Monster Brads and Kitten Brads to the same photo shoot,
especially if there are unattended Candy Corn Brads on hand!

Scaring Up Some More Halloween Inspiration

Hi!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards with a few more Halloween cards to share.  My first card provides the "perfect recipe" for some Halloween fun.  We have Monster Mash, Pickled Eyes, and Spider Legs on the menu today!

I used the Monster, Small Eye, and Spider brads as well as Medium Jewel Bling Strips and Jewel Bling Strips and Glitter Black Washi.

To make the card, I used a cut file purchased in the Silhouette store.  I used card stock from Stampin' Up and a digital patterned paper was used to fill that panel behind the potions.  Speaking of the background, I placed the Jewel Bling randomly on the stars.  The Glitter Washi was used on the bottle corks and as the shelf on which the potions sit.

And here's the sentiment I created for inside the card:

Next up, we have a nighttime walk; which can be pretty scary, especially around Halloween.  This card was simple to put together; so if you like Halloween cards, but don't feel like you have the time to make them, this would be a good option.

I used the Spooky Eye brads for this card as well as the Small Eye brads...'cause you just have to have a cyclops or two on Halloween.  You'd need two packs to duplicate this look.  In fact, I want to go back and add another set of eyes in that open spot I didn't notice until I looked at the picture.  If you'd like the template for this nighttime walking pair, you'll find it on the Freebies page or just link from the toolbar above.

Here's what I did inside the card; another set of eyes and a little poem.

Well, that's it for today!
