Green Shabby Chic Cards with Flower Video Tutorial

I just love playing with monotone colors on cards, and then having a stash of "blank" card ready to go when I need them.  I just made a yellow card for the Feb inspiration and here is my next in the series of shabby chic cards, Green!

I made these beautiful flowers from flat paper flowers from Eyelet Outlet.  They are already beautiful, I just wanted something fuller for the card.  Below is my video tutorial on how I made these super easy and beautiful flowers.

Here are the Green Glowers and 1/16 Green round brads I used for the flowers and how amazing they look on the card!
http://www.eyeletoutlet.com/

I then added to the card some awesome Green stickyback bling from the Eyelet Outlet store.  It was just perfect for my super green card!!

Here are some up close pictures of the card.

Now what color card should I make next?

Layouts on Friday with Rosandra

Okay, okay... it's really not a layout this week.
I thought I'd show you some other things to do with your Eyelet Outlet goodies.

Eyelet Outlet has some beautiful new washi tapes great for art journaling.

Below is a page I did in my "test journal". I like to have a journal to try different/new techniques, ideas, or paint or mediums in. For this one I laid a thin layer of gesso first, then I added random strips of washi tape on the page. I used three different kinds (they'll be in the supply list at the end of the post). I applied texture paste through a stencil and used a heat tool to dry. Once dry, I dry brushed my paint layers. Using a collage glue stick I added the paper flowers, then mixed some multi matte medium with some paint to "seal" the flowers onto my page. Add some swirl bling strips and... TADA!

Thank you for visiting and make something pretty today.

Hop to it!!

With Easter early on this year's calendar,
you will want to hop over to the Eyelet Outlet shop and fill your basket with goodies and treats
for your spring celebrations!

One fun way to layout your washi tape is to layer it with Skinny washi.
It adds a bit of color without over powering your layout.

It also makes a great plaid!
How do you like using washi?
I'd love to hear!!

What does the bunny say?
"Hop to it!!" of course!

Here you see some of the latest release from the Eyelet Outlet.
The Colored Egg Brads are perfect for bunnies and baskets...
but if you are more of a farm girl, check out these new Egg Brads in natural colors.

Did you know that there are several sayings in the Easter Bubble brads?
I think "Hey Chickie" is my favorite.

Thanks so much for joining us today.
Come hop-a-long the bunny trail and check out my blog,

Hello Eyelet Outlet friends. Today I am sharing a few cards I made using a fun stamp I found inthe $1.50 bin at Michaels paired up with some of our brads.
You could call it a same stamp, two different cards kinda post.

For the first card I used some of the new Washi Tape and our glittered heart brads.

Supplies: Jar Stamp Michaels, Glitter heart brads, Arrow and Heart & Arrow Washi tape.

Next I used the new butterfly brads to fill my jar. It looks like they are all a flutter inside.

What Did the Chocolate Rabbit Say to the Chicken?

Hello everyone ... I'm Stephanie (you might know me by my crafty moniker SmilynStef), one of the new Design Team members at the Eyelet Outlet.

I'm a pretty fast & furious creator who is always on the lookout for inspiration.  I love using a wide range of styles and products when I create.  I'm a midwesterner who spends my days as a Chief Credit Officer focused on commercial lending ... and my nights and weekends using the other side of my brain creating in my studio.  My husband is a postal carrier, which is the perfect match for a card-making, card-mailing gal.

I love traveling to places I have never been, eating foods I have never tried, and riding in the car with the windows down.  You will never find me without lip balm, dental floss and my sunglasses.  I also love sushi, dark chocolate, and roasted vegetables.

You can find me at my blog Ingenious Inkling ... or at the holiday card blog Jingle Belles that I co-host with fellow Design Team member Lauren.

I'm so glad to be with you today sharing my first Eyelet Outlet card.  I had so much fun creating a little Easter scene using lots of different eyelets and some washi tape too.

It all started with the Chocolate Easter Bunny and the Hey Chickie brad from Easter Bubble Brads.

Then of course the Chicken Brad needed to continue the conversation with another Easter Bubble Brad.

The last step was to invite the Gnome to the party to finish with some Spring Wishes from the Easter Bubble Brads.

I just love all of those happy colors and the fun conversations between all of my fun little creatures.

The final touch was a piece of Enjoy Life Washi Tape, which looks great on the green hills.

"Brilliant Ideas" Altered Notebook by Lauren Bergold

Hi, I'm Lauren, and I'm excited to be here! Being chosen for the Eyelet Outlet design team isn't all fun and games, though. It actually gave me the best "problem" ever: Which of the many, many, awesome styles of Eyelet Outlet shaped brads should I use first? Turns out, it's impossible to choose just one. So I didn't.

I've been jotting down project ideas in this little notebook for a while, but it still had a plain, not-very-inspiring kraft paper cover.

Now it's bursting with color and I can't wait to make something else... in fact I think I'll go do that right now. I hope you will, too!

Eyelet Outlet goodies used in this project:
(I'm kind of hoping this *might* be a record, in terms of quantity, lol!)

PS: The light bulb icon is hand-drawn, but it was inspired by
these adorable Light Bulb Brads which I predict you'll love as much as I do! ♥

My name is Lauren and I love making stuff, especially out of paper. I love collage, art journaling, gift wrapping, altered art, mixed media and --especially-- making cards. I've never met an embellishment I didn't love, but the *sparkly* ones are my favorites! Vintage paper is like catnip to me. I like projects with LOTS of layers and tons of texture. I spend more time thinking about adhesives than the average person. Ideas sometimes wake me up at night. I love bright colors, found objects and... did I mention... sparkly things? There is usually ink, paint, dye or embossing paste stuck to me somewhere, and often a little bit of each. To answer the two questions I get asked the most: YES, I am always this silly, and YES, I know there's glitter on my face. My personal blog is called All the Good Blog Names Were Taken and I'd love for you to come visit me there.

Design Team Monday, Introducing Barry Snarr

Hello Eyelet Outlet fans. Barry here today with my first post and I'm excited to share some cards I made with you.

But first I'd like to share a little bit about myself:

I live in Bellevue, Wa and I first actually started scrapbooking about 10 years ago and then added card making to the list.  I have always loved giving and receiving cards as a means of staying in touch with friends and family that are across the miles.  Giving a card and especially a one-of-a-kind homemade card to a friend or loved one is my way of saying "You are special, you are being thought about, you are loved".  My favorite thing about creating is seeing other people's cards and scrapbook pages and being inspired to create my own pieces of art!  I start my creating usually with the person in my mind that will be receiving the card, while other times it might be a quote or a special stamp or embellishment.  I received my first Eyelet Outlet product for winning a small card contest on a blog challenge about 5 years ago. I like to use Eyelet Outlet products because of the amount of diverse, relevant and on trend Eyelet outlet products are.  My other hobbies include, line dancing (I love C&W music), Broadway musicals (I was a musical theatre singer and dancer for many years), Movies (I love the comic book movies the most, ie Captain America, The Avengers etc.) and I am friend and chew toy to my cat "Diego" who is a lovely black and white tuxedo cat.

My first card, "Hello Handsome" I created with small circles in my Silhouette software and cut out them out of vellum so that each mustache was highlighted. I used the font scotchtape to create the sentiment.

Hello Handsome.JPG

Simple? Yes, but doesn't it highlight the cute mustache brads?

Next up is...

"A Thousand Thanks" - This card uses the army men brads. I created the frame and border using the camouflage washi tape.

  IMG_0611.JPG

Wouldn't this be a great appreciation card to send to
those that are serving our country?

Both of these cards came together quickly and use the brads I chose as their main focal point.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Layouts on Friday with Rosandra

Welcome to another week of layout inspiration. This week we are featuring some of the new styles and colors of Eyelet Outlet bling, paper flowers, and washi tape.

  senior_layout

I used washi tape to border the main portion of the layout and added some of the red accent color
using the new square jewel bling.

  senior_embellishment_closeup

For additional texture and layers I used the paper flowers, jewel bling brads, and the new white and black sticky back jewel bling to coordinate with the pattern of the paper.

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to share your work with us on our Facebook page.

 Happy Crafting!!!

Erin is sharing how she stores her Eyelet Outlet product.

I am always looking for the best way to store my crafty supplies such as brands, eyelets, washi tape, bling, gems, flowers, and other little bits and bobs that I use for my crafty projects and Eyelet Outlet is my go to store for all of them .  The key things I look for are that it allows me to use my space efficiently, allows easy access, and also is easy to take to crops and retreats, portability!!  Deflecto came out with the amazing new Stackable Caddy Organizer that fits the bill for all my wants and needs.  It has almost unlimited space as the units stack together, portable, easy to use, and pulls apart so I can work with the small containers on my desk.

Here is a little video explaining how I use this system, what I store in it, why it so amazing, and how much it can all fit of my fun little items such as washi tape, bling, gems, brads, eyelets, flowers, and other such crafty goodies.

Design Team Monday with Dawn

Sometimes, it is all about the details...
And Eyelet Outlet has some great products that will add interest
in the details of your projects!

I used washi tape to create my own designer paper by
laying it down in stripes. This way, I can chose the colors and themes
to match the brads and enamel dots and arrows!

This is perfect for a chatty teen!

Design Team Wednesday with Susie

Welcome Eyelet Outlet Fans!
Susie here with another valentine card to share with you.  Who knew yellow and red could work for a valentine??  Do you like this fun combination? Today's card features some valentine bees!  I did a little wash of watercolor on my background and then made a colored and die cut hive for my bees.  There are three in total - one Bumblebee brad and two Mini Bee brads.  Of course I needed to add a red Fancy Heart brad too!

Here is a close up of the bees in action:

That's it for now, but be sure to stay tuned here at the blog. We will be back with more inspiration in just a few days!
If you have a chance, I would love for you to visit me at The Dies Have It.

 See you again soon!
