Butterfly Flight

One thing I've always enjoyed about Eyelet Outlet is that they sell bling in many colors, styles and shapes. Who loves lots of color, sparkle, and glamour? Me!

To make this card, I chose first a square of pretty marbled cardstock with touches of aqua blue, lavender, and ivory. On top of this, I placed sections of Blue Jewel Swirl Bling. The bling makes me think of butterfly flight and so I made 4 layered butterflies out of vellum with glitter embossing powders in complementary colors to the bling and background. I added two sizes of purple Jewel Bling on the bodies and antenna of the butterflies.

I also made a Thinking of You sentiment strip on blue cardstock with white embossing powder. I layered 2 layers of each butterfly and placed them on the card. I added the final touches of clear 12mm Cut Bling and purple Jewel Bling. I matted the card panel on ivory cardstock and then on top of purple glimmer cardstock.

The final card is a sparkling thinking of you card with glittery butterflies and bling. I'm loving the pretty combination of marble and jewels and how it is the perfect setting for the soft, glittered butterflies.

Sparkle & Spice

Hello Crafty Friends - Today I am sharing a pumpkin bling card made with Eyelet Outlet's jewel strips, swirl bling, and jewel bling. Eyelet Outlet is a place to find lots of bling to elevate your projects and add a touch of sparkle.

I used a pumpkin die to create the base and detailed layer of the pumpkin.  I added the jewel strips for the outline of the pumpkin.  The swirl bling was added to the leaf at the top.  And I used the jewel bling to add detail to the flowers inside the pumpkin.  The jewel strips are so easy to use because all the jewels are connected to make for easy layering on projects.  The strips can also be shaped into curves and circles so the possibilities are endless.

This sparkly pumpkin card will make a special someone smile, and can also be displayed during the fall season.  Thank you for visiting the blog today.  I hope this inspires you to create a fun project using Eyelet Outlet products.  Please visit Eyelet Outlet for creative supplies and inspiration.

Ring Around the Rosettes

This week's creation is different than anything I've made in the past. I wanted to make some cards, but I wanted them to be different. It just so happened that I got some extra fabric from a friend yesterday and decided to incorporate the different fabrics into my cards while using Eyelet Outlet’s embellishments to enhance them.

I created six different rosettes out of the different fabrics and added matching bling or matching brads to the center of each rosette. From there, I was able to go in any direction I wanted as far on how to use the rosettes.

I started with the cards…one card is based around the Colored Daisy brads with a sunny yellow daisy in the middle of the rosette, a pink daisy around the sentiment, Gold Glitter Washi tape and two Yellow Stippled Jewel Brads in the corners.

The second card is a basic black and white card that is embellished with many Black Stippled Jewel Blings, some corners off of the Black Swirl Bling and a large Black faceted Jewel Bling in the center of the rosette.

The third card I created is a fun, everyday card with the rosette being made from fabric that had a farm theme.

I had to add the bright red Truck Brad to the middle. They just looked like they were made to go together. Eyelet Outlet has some many cute choices, you will find something that will match whatever theme you are going for.

On the outside of the card are several Black Stippled Jewel Bling as well as Black and Orange Bling. These cards are just so cute and so fun, and I cannot wait to send them to a friend.

With the other rosettes I made, I turned them into hair barrettes by gluing a basic hair clip to the back of each rosette.

I do not know which one is my favorite between the Tropical Bird rosette ...

or the vintage country style fabric with the Jeans and T-shirt Brad.

They are both adorable and would look beyond cute in any little girl's hair.

Eyelet Outlets embellishments always jazz up your creations but as you can see here, they can also be the center of your creations without being overstated. LOVE.

Have a wonderful week and always be STRATE-UP CRAFTY!

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town!!

Christmas planning, crafting, and preparing is in full swing! I just love this image of Santa gazing up at the sparkling, decked out tree...

I love using Kraft cardstock for my card bases and started with adding a Christmas sentiment in brown and distressing the edges! Then I used my Christmas tree image with Santa and colored in with markers! I embellished with Swirl Bling Jewel in Champagne, and Jewel Bling Strips in green and clear. My tree topper was a Stippled Jewel Edge Brad in Clear. I also added a little fuzzy, white, fun flocking to Santa's white fur trimming!

Lastly, I decided a Christmas banner across the top would add more layering and of course sparkle and used the Swirl Bling Jewel in Champagne!!

I hope you are making great progress on your Christmas crafts and greeting cards! Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to shop at Eyelet Outlet for your crafting needs!

Pretty Floral Thank You

Once in a while I feel like breaking out some lace and flowers and getting all girly. Today is the day! This card features several EO products that make this girly girl card j-u-s-t right!

To start this card, I made an A2 base card. I then cut a background piece out of white cardstock. I placed two strips of Flower Washi Tape - Wide on the piece. The washi tape has a very soft floral pattern with several flowers on top of a script background. On top of that I placed a doily I cut with a pattern from Cricut Design Space. I shaded the edges with Distress Oxide ink. Next came some purple swirl bling at an angle. Then I placed two leaf sprigs and a layered Paper Flower held together with a 12 MM Stippled Brad in Purple. Then I die cut the Thanks sentiment and added a few more leaves before finally adding a purple Stitched Flower - Bright brad.

Brewing Up a Happy Halloween!

Hi everyone and happy Sunday! Today I have a card that's toad-ally fun! Lots of people tell me they don't like scary Halloween. This one is nothing but cute and cuddly - or as much as a toad can be in his cauldron bath tub!

I started this project by stamping and coloring the frog and the cauldron and then I fussy cut it out. I cut the orange and purple ovals using dies and arranged the pieces on them. Then I added the faucet, frog and soap brads to further set the scene. I used Swirl Bling and Fancy Long Pearl & Jewel Bling to add smoke and bubbles. Once the rest of the mats were in place, I added a web sticker and a Mini Spider Brad dangling off the corner web.

Here Comes the Sun(flowers)

The other day I (Lauren) was sorting through my big box of Eyelet Outlet goodies, when I suddenly realized I had never made a card with the gorgeous Sunflower Brads from the May release. Obviously I had to drop everything and attend to that!

These cards have quite a bit more white space than is usual for me and the white space is actually white in color, as well! But I had the beautiful Sunflower Brads and the equally lovely wide Glitter Sunflower Tape, so it's not like I needed a whole lot more than that. For my first card I affixed the brads to a circle of watercolor paper I custom painted with some very diluted Lemon Yellow ColorBurst. I added diecut leaves, a wordfetti sentiment and lots of Champagne Jewel Swirl Bling; with everything clustered on top of a little collage of Skinny Washi Tapes in shades of yellow and orange.

For my second card, I affixed the Sunflower Brads to some texty paper which had pretty little clusters of flowers and leaves. I covered the roses on the paper with our Sunflowers, but let the leaves show through. I added a bit more foliage and a couple of orange Mini Butterfly Brads. Again I mixed a few different Skinny Washi Tapes with the Glitter Sunflower Tape, and chose a typewriter print sentiment that coordinated well.

I hope you're enjoying a day full of Sunshine and Happiness... not to mention creativity! ♥

Don't Just Fly. Soar!

Today I have an inspirational card for you featuring the new Eyelet Outlet Eagle brad.  This set includes a flying eagle, like the one I've used today, as well as a sitting eagle. They are really majestic and I'm expecting them to become one of our most popular bird brads.

Cricut's "Seasonal Printables" image set offers a beautiful mountain backdrop for my soaring eagle and the sentiment I've used is from Cricut's "Girl, You Got This," image set.   I added some Eyelet Let Outlet Pine Tree Brads and a touch a swirl bling to complete my card.

Thanks for stopping in today, and if you're in the Kansas City, MO area this weekend, stop in and see us at the Scrapbook Expo July 12-13.

A Nap

Hey there!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards.

I don't know about you, but I am still trying to recover from the holidays.  All that hustle and bustle.  Then again, maybe it's just life.  The card I'm sharing today is a humorous example of just how I've been feeling...needing a nap!

I tried my hand at a diagonal flip card.  Turns out, it was perfect for this image from Art Impressions.  After I stamped her, I cut her out and then outfitted her with an iPhone from the Selfie Brads, Purse, and Pearl Bling earrings.  The background combines Brick and Brown Glitter Washi Tape with some Swirl Bling to finish.

When you flip open the left side, here's what you find inside with a bit more bling.

For you cardmakers out there, have you tried this card fold yet?  It was easy and a lot of fun, so I hope you do.
