Christmas in July!

I've made several variations of Ugly Christmas Sweater cards, but one thing is for sure - when I embellish those sweaters with Eyelet Outlet products, they are definitely NOT ugly! Since the sentiment I planned to use on this card was "Tis The Season to Sparkle," I decided to embellish my card with some of Eyelet Outlet's bling.

The front of my sweater features the Holiday Flower Bling and in the corners I used Holiday Bling.  For an extra touch of sparkle, I added some clear stick on gems.  Of course, I had to hang my sweater on one of popular hanger brads and then I topped it off with a snowflake brad.

One of the things I like about posting on Thursdays is the occasional "Throw Back!"  Here's another sweater card that I made in 2017.  

After embossing the face of the card with an argyle embossing folder for a real sweater feel, I added a Christmas tree embellished with some Eyelet Outlet enamel dots in various colors and sizes.  I also used some of the stunning Fancy Long Bling with Pearls and Jewels.  For the tree topper I used some Snowflake bling.

Making Magic

Would this be a good time for a little bit of magic, in greeting card form? Yes, I (Lauren) thought so too. Luckily I had my Eyelet Outlet Wizard Set Brads ready to go!

The Wizard Set comes with wands, glasses and two different scarves. I've used the glasses and the mustard colored scarf above my computer generated sentiment, along with one of two styles of lightning from the Wizard Hat and Lightning Bolt Brads. The hat itself is towards the bottom of the card, clustered with the wand and a Sketched Owl Brad. My background is matted on Star Gold Tape with an accent of Copper Foil Tape embellished with Glitter Copper Tape.

For my second card, I used the Wizard Hat again, without the lightning; and a wand from the Wizard Set, which is conjuring up some "magic" that I've depicted with Clear Swirl Bling snipped apart and rebuilt into a shape that fit around my sentiment a bit better, augmented with a few silver Star Sequins. I've got two glittery mats this time, one of wider blue Glitter Star Tape and one of Glitter Silver Stars Tape.

I've made both sentiments into jpgs which you can right-click and save; they will also be on the Freebies Page for you to come back for later.

Floral Note Cards From Washi Tape

Hello Eyelet Outlet Fans! Today I have a simple project anyone can make. We've gotten a lot of new washi tape styles in recently and you can see them by going to Eyelet Outlet and clicking on the Washi Tape - Decorative Tape. The newest tapes will always be shown at the top.

This set of mini note or gift cards is a fnished size of 3 1/2" square. The beautiful floral prints are from a new washi tape in the store called Flower Washi Tape - Wide. And boy is it a wide! It's 2 1/8" wide in fact.

To make these, I secured the Washi Tape with the six designs on white card stock and then die cut them out. Then I made three more graduated mats to create the card fronts. I placed a Butterfly Brad on each of them. Finally I used strips of our Pink and Clear Jewel Bling Strips to trim the edges of the cards.

Online Dance Party!

What do you do when you have Eyelet Outlet's Computer Brads, Headphone Brads, Musical Note Brads, and a supply of Washi Tape?  Of course, it's an Online Dance Party!

Today's card is 2 of a 6 card series featuring Eyelet Outlet brads/washi and highlighting words (and/or things) that we have learned during this historical time.  Today's word is ZOOM.  I had not heard of Zoom, however, in recent weeks I experienced multiple medical appointments using ZOOM and it was great!

As you can see on the card, four youngsters have gathered on ZOOM to have a dance party.  They have their computers, headphones, and are ready to turn up the music and dance. If 2020 Were A Pinata

Well, 2020 has been a heck of year so far, don't you think?  If you're like me, you're probably wondering what's next! Today's project sums it up pretty well!  If 2020 were a pinata, it would no doubt look like a bee hive!

I'd like to give credit where it's due, but I honestly can't figure out where I got this beehive SVG, but it sure was perfect for my project!  You can almost hear the little Eyelet Outlet Mini Bees buzzing around and flying in and out of the hive!

The Crown (Eyelet Outlet Edition)

I (Lauren) can never resist a funny meme, especially if it's one for which I have the perfect Eyelet Outlet Brads. In this case our fabulously fancy and righteously regal Crown and Tiara Brads.

There are actually four styles of Crown and Tiara Brads in each package: two versions of the golden coronet (with both blue and red details); and the pink tiara with both silver filigree and glittery sparkles. On my first card I used one of the golden/blue variety, and placed it on the head of my Riley and Friends stamp, "Midge with Coffee"... although in this case, I cut away the coffee mug (sorry, Midge!) so she'd look more regal. I used one of our fabulous new wide washi varieties, Apothocary Bottles Tape to make a background with a bit of a nostalgic vibe.

As is often the case when I've seen a meme online, I made a digital sentiment; or rather, two versions of the sentiment, because I wanted both horizontal and vertical format. I used a free chunky font called Vexler Slip for my first card and AR Bonnie for the slightly more streamlined version on my second card. They're both right-clickable here in the post, and will also be available on the Freebies Page later this week.

For my second card I wanted to use the pink and silver filigree Tiara Brads, so I made a slightly "lighter" looking sentiment and chose another new tape with nice bright colors, in this case the delicious Macaron Washi.

Jurassic Park

Hello Eyelet Outlet fans! Today I have a fun card for the dinosaur kid in your life using our new Dinosaur Brads. These are so fun and I love the orange, gray and green/yellow colors used in these brads.

I created the scene in this card by using a mountain die cut and converting the snow to lava to create volcanoes. Now there's not much to mountains so if you don't have a die like this, you can draw and cut a set for yourself and no one will know the difference.

The sky is made with our Cloud Washi Tape. This is a perfect way to quickly create great looking sky backgrounds. It's a neutral blue which means it will go with any and all color schemes used in your card. You can't go wrong and it totally looks like designer paper. I also added a Sun Brad from the Sun and Cloud Brad set. This is another staple you really need to have in your collection. They are perfect in little scenes like this.

I used a few Copic markers to create the ground and the explosions at the top of the volcanoes. I stamped a few palm trees and mixed them up with our Palm Tree Brads so it has added dimension and thickness to the "jungle." Then the scene was ready for the stars of the show, the Dinosaur Brads! They are terrific in this scene.

The green glitter background is made with our Green Patterned Glitter Washi Tape and the striped background is made using the Foil Striped Washi Tape at an angle. The glitter washi tape like all of Eyelet Outlet's glitter tape is shed-free and I like the pattern which makes it more interesting and textured. The foil washi tape is also a great way to get that trendy foil look without mess or fuss.

To finish, I created the sentiment from a combination of stamps I had on hand and using my printer. Another Dino and Palm Tree finish it off.

Social Distancing

Today's card is something a bit different for me.....we are living in fast-changing times with an unexpected virus that we are all dealing with in some way or another.  I am intrigued by the new words we have learned quickly in the last few months all related to the virus.   This card is called "Social Distancing".

The CDC definition for Social Distancing is highlighted on the card and my depiction of such is created by using the detailed Eyelet Outlet animal brads (see list below), a Black Jewel (for doorknob), and Yellow Skinny Washi Tape.  Today when we leave our homes, we find the yellow tape, red tape, or even black lines painted on the sidewalk instructing us where to stand while waiting in line.  Other card materials used include the Penny Black 'Slapstick Houses' stamp set.

Dinosaur Bookmark

Have you seen Eyelet Outlet's new dinosaur brads?  They're so fun!  There's three different ones in the set.  Last week I showed you the T-Rex and today I've got a bookmark for you featuring the brontosaurus and the triceratops from the set. 

I've also paired them with one of our palm tree brads.  At the bottom of the book mark I've used a strip of our popular book washi tape.  I'm sure this fun little bookmark will make your reader smile, so I hope you pick up some our new dinosaur brads and give this project a try.  

Have a Magical Day

It's been a while since I (Lauren) have made a card with the lovely Eyelet Outlet Fairy Brads, and I've been missing them! So here's a "magical" slimline card:

I used a favorite alphabet stencil to add the word "MAGICAL" in exactly the right shades of Distress Oxide Ink to coordinate with all four Fairy Brads that come in each packet!

I used white foam alphas to finish the sentiment and added the Fairy Brads, a few Mini Stitched Flowers and some Blue Sequins for a bit of sparkle. I machine-stitched the panel onto my slimline card base that I made from a super-thick transparency, so it magically seems to float.

You Make My World Go Round!

The Record Brads are just so much fun, they're hard to put down. Here's yet another one paired with the Headphone brad from the Computer and Headphone Brad Set. Having the option of the large and small records really makes them easy to use both as focal points and in sentiments. I used thin strips of Skinny Black Glitter Washi Tape over a background image that was free on the internet. A few Silver Glitter Enamel Dots and a bow on top of the two stacked tags "round" this one out. Get it? Round? Albums? Ha, ha! Ok. It must be late because I think I'm the only one laughing! Maro Polo!

The dinosaurs are coming soon to Eyelet Outlet and here's another sneak peak!

The mama dino is gathering her young for the evening.  One of the little ones decided to go exploring so mama is checking his location with the "Marco Polo" call to bring him home.

It's a bit whimsical, a bit unbelievable, but lots of fun, right?!?

The large dinosaur and palm trees are from Lawn Fawn stamps.  The dinosaur brads are some of Eyelet Outlet's newest and will be available soon.  The kid in all of us will find them fun and enjoyable to work with!

Godzilla!

Eyelet Outlet will soon be releasing some brand new dinosaur brads.  The set includes a triceratops, a brontosaurus and a tyrannosaurus-rex.  The T-Rex in the set reminded me quite a lot of the infamous Godzilla and so today I'm bringing you a couple of Godzilla inspired cards!

First up is a timely little card since many of us are still social distancing and longing to see some of our friends and family.

I love making silly joke cards for the kids in my life this one is certain to get a laugh!  Again, I used the city scape from the Cricut's Plantin Schoolbook image set and a simple house from the Just Because image set.
