Holiday Gift Card Holder

Good morning, crafters!  Today I'm bringing you one of my pop-up gift card holders. I really enjoy making these, because the possibilities for decorating the belly band that holds the card closed are endless!  

This being a coffee gift card, the new Eyelet Outlet Holiday Coffee Brads were the perfect choice and who doesn't like a delicious Christmas cookie with their coffee?! So our Christmas Cookie Brads were the obvious pairing, don't you think?  I rounded out my design with a lovely little Eyelet Outlet Holly Brad.  

The red and white snowflake paper went so nicely with the Holiday Coffee Brad, too.  It is a digital paper from AMB Illustrations Etsy shop in a set called "Fun in the Snow." The image used on the belly band is from Cricut's Holly Jolly Christmas image set and the inside sentiment is from Cricut's Greeting Card Sentiments and the decorative element is from Cricut's Drawn Christmas Embellishments image set.

Peppermint Twist!

My husband was a radio DJ back in the late 60's and oldies tunes fill the air quite often in our home. Today's projects are inspired by one of those old songs, the Peppermint Twist!

I've been playing around with making rosettes lately to use on my Christmas wrapping. The fun part of rosette making is decorating the centers and I love the way these turned out!  So colorful and festive with Eyelet Outlet Peppermint Candy brads in every color!

These diamond rosettes are in the Cricut image library and are part of the Scoring Wheel Rosettes image set.  

Keeping with my sweet theme today, here's a Christmas card that is loaded with all kinds of SWEET Eyelet Outlet products!  In addition to the peppermint candy brads, I've used our brand new Gingerbread Washi Tape that is loaded with goodies!  There's candies and gingerbread men and candy canes on a lovely aqua background!  And it paired great with our red stripe foil washi tape, too!

I added a couple of our Christmas Cookie Brads, Lollipop Brad, Candy Cane Brad, and some Enamel Dots for colorful buttons on my ginerbread men.

Peace, Love and Coffee

Hi guys, it's Lauren here again. One of my favorite papercrafting challenges is taking place this week: it's the 2017 Winter Coffee Lovers' Bloghop which is always a lot of fun. Especially since I have the considerable advantage of keeping a stock of Eyelet Outlet Coffee Brads on hand at all times! ;)

My sentiment is inspired by an awesome new stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays that my friend Amy Tsuruta used reallllllly well on this card. Since I don't happen to own it (...yet...) I decided to make my own tribute version! Obviously I needed a Peace Sign Brad, but to give it a little more holiday style, I added a hat from the Elf Brad set. A Holly bedecked Heart Brad came next; then a cup from the Coffee Brad set, with a couple of Christmas Cookie Brads. I used letter stickers for the main words, and my handy Dymo for the rest. I made a seasonal mat for the sentiment panel by neatly lining up strips of Holly Tape on plain white cardstock.

I liked the results so much, I immediately wanted to make a second version... so I did! This time I decided to orient my A2 card horizonally, and place the brads ABOVE the keywords instead of beside them. I used my vintage typewriter instead of the labelmaker, and typed the sentiment on a clear label, so that I could trim it to size and place it on my paper after setting the brads.

One Card Three Ways: Christmas Ornament Edition

Hi folks, it's Lauren here again. I'm starting to really think about Christmas and feeling pretty excited about finishing up my cards. I know most cardmakers like to mass-produce one holiday design, but I don't enjoy that so much. Something I don't mind, though, is making a couple of different versions of the same card. So today I have a set of ornaments that represent my three favorite categories of Eyelet Outlet products: Brads, Bling and Washi Tape!

For my Bling card I used some papers I had pre-painted with ColorBurst pigment powders, and used stencils with inks and embossing paste on top. I created the bauble shapes using some hand-cut ornament templates I made for myself a few years ago, but there are plenty of beautiful dies available to shortcut that procedure for you. I wanted to work in as many bling varieties as possible, so I've got Clear Edge Jewels, Square Jewels, Single Jewels, Single Pearls, Heart Pearls and I've even used a bit of the new Fancy Long Bling on the round bauble, which I arranged as a mirror-image, then placed a few extra large Pearl Bling Jewels inside the openings created by the zig zag design. I made the tops of the ornaments from Glitter Silver Tape and constructed my own patterned paper by filling an A2-sized inset panel with Music Note Washi.

For my Brads card I pieced the ornaments from a neutral palette so the Christmas Cookies, Poinsettia and Prancing Deer would stand out really well. I made the tops of the baubles from Glitter Gold Tape this time, to fit the color scheme better.

For the Tape card I chose bright shades of traditional red and green. I covered the bauble shapes with tape, then burnished well and trimmed them neatly. I used Holly Tape (with a small Paper Flower and Enamel Dot) for the heart ornament; Red Dots with an accent of Vertical Red Tree Tape for the elongated shape and highlighted strips of Merry Christmas Tape with an accent of that cute green Santa Tape sandwiched by Skinny Stripes Tape for the round shape.

Life Is Short - Eat Christmas Cookies

It's no secret that I (Lauren) ♥LOVE♥ Eyelet Outlet Washi Tape, and I have amassed (some might say hoarded, lol!) a nice collection, especially of Christmas tapes!

So of course as soon as I saw this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (#219), my first thought was that those awesome strips needed to be done entirely in washi tape!

Since most of the tapes I wanted to use are vertically oriented, I decided to rotate the sketch. I chose a notebook-style patterned paper, because I love the look, but also: the horizontal lines make it SO EASY to apply your tapes and have them be perfectly straight! I used *NINE* different tapes! From top to bottom they are: Skinny Hearts, Skinny Pastel Green, Season's Greetings, Holly, Skinny Merry Christmas, Heart Washi, Wide Tree Tape, Merry Christmas and Skinny Green Stripe. You'll notice that not every single one of those has a holiday motif, I just chose tapes that had some red or green, that I thought went well together. My top tip for combining lots of tapes is to choose a few skinny or wide patterns to go with your standard tapes; OR you can get a similar visual effect by using all 5/8" tapes, but overlapping them somewhat randomly, which makes it look like you have tapes of different widths! I used some uber-cute stickers as my focal point, and finished off with a little bit of twine, some white Heart Brads and red Heart Enamels!

It's Christmas in July here at the Eyelet Outlet Blog and we're bringing you a special Christmas themed post every Saturday this month.  There's 169 days remaining until Christmas and now's the time to avoid the holiday stress by getting a big jump on your Christmas cards, so let's get started!

Today's card features Eyelet Outlet's yummy Christmas Cookie Brads which are so life-like they look good enough to eat!

The phrase is from LoveSVG.com which offers wonderful free SVG images that I find so compatible with Eyelet Outlet products.  And when you purchase their affordable commercial license like I did, you are free to modify the image as you wish.  In this case, the image was calling out for my Eyelet Outlet Christmas Cookie Brads, don't you think?  

Using my Cricut, I used a combination of print-then cut (green text) and I cut the red text out with Cricut Adhesive Foil to add some pop and shine to the card.  Then I added some Eyelet Outlet Holiday Enamel Dots to the bottom to really set the card off.

Hi, it's Kim from Katydid Cards.  I don't know about you, but I find Christmas cookies are a hard act to follow.  In fact, while I'm down here sharing my card with you, my mind is still on those cookies!

My card uses these adorable Ornament Brads.   I like Christmas ornaments; but when they're perfectly detailed in miniature like these, I find them irresistible!

And here's the card I made with them.  It uses a "Birdbrain" image who was already carrying ornament' but through the magic of editing programs, I removed them and added the brads!  They worked perfectly.  Eyelet Outlet brads, eyelets and washi are a perfect companion to any digi images!

I made a little peek-a-boo card and you can see this harried bird running with all those ornaments.  Here's a closer look:

Inside, I created a little poem to accompany the image.  I'm not a great poet, but I think it made a good pairing.  I've shared it with you here in the event you'd like to use it on your cards or layouts.

When I saw the current Fusion Card Challenge, I new my Eyelet Outlet Brad stash was going to be the star of the show.

I started with a piece of My Mind's Eye Chalkboard Paper and then *chalked* it up a bit more with White Pigment Ink.  Next, I started creating with all sorts of baking themed brads.

I finished with Heart Brads and Heart Epoxy Stickers ... can you count how many different Eyelet Outlet Brads I used?

I used two stickers & a printed word for my sentiment - Peace, Love & Baking my friends.
