Poinsettia Card

Poinsettias are one of my favorite flowers. They take me back to when I was a little girl and I'd get the occasional opportunity to visit my aunt at work at the local greenhouse. At Christmas time there were hundreds of potted poinsettias waiting to be delivered to churches and homes all around the area.

This pretty poinsettia patterned paper really called out to me when I saw it, so I had to pair it with some Eyelet Outlet poinsettia brads. I added some additional greenery that I cut from card stock on my Cricut and then nestled an Eyelet Outlet pinecone brad among the pine branch. The sweet sentiment I used for this card really called for a few hearts, too, so I added a couple of our red enamel hearts as well.

Christmas Peace

In the middle of creating fall themed cards, I decided take a quick detour to make my first Christmas card of the season. Eyelet Outlet has so many holiday themed brads to choose from. Today I used some of my favorites!

This card was created with a card kit. I put it together and then added lots of brads and bling to make it pop. First, I used 8 mm Cut Bling in Red. I also added red Jewel Bling in a two sizes. But the stars of the card are the female and male cardinals sitting atop of an ornament. I also added a Red Cut Bling on the jute bow, two Holly Brads, and a Poinsettia Brad.

You can create a similar look with these EO products:

Santa's Ready to Sleigh!

One of my favorite things about card making is making scenes. EO's washi tapes, brads, bling and other accessories really give us a lot to work with for making scenes. I created this one located at Santa's workshop in the North Pole. It looks chilly but warms my heart!

I used Glitter Winter Washi Tape, one of my favorites, to create the winter tree scene in the background. I used Aleene's True Snow with glitter sprinkled on the top for the snow part of the scene. While it dried, I stamped, colored and cut out Santa's Workshop and the light pole.

I added the stamped images to the card front and then all the brads. The true charm of this scene comes from Santa, his sleigh, a deer, a poinsettia on the light pole and snowy trees, and a Merry Christmas saying. It looks like Santa is ready to leave for his big night!

Pop Up Christmas Cards

Today I’m sharing two pop-up cards with a Christmas theme. The stamp and die sets I used are from Diamond Press. In the first, Santa is peaking out of the chimney on a house roof. When the tab is pulled, he pops out.

The second card has an elf and reindeer that are busily wrapping presents.

When the tab is pulled, the elf pops out.

Here are the insides of the cards.

I decorated these cards with several brads and bling from the EO store.

A Wreath of Christmas Cheer

Hello Eyelet Outlet fans! Janet here today with yes, a Christmas card! I hope you'll forgive such an early post but we have new holiday brads and well, you'll just have to forgive me for playing with them. It's too hard not to!

Wreaths are such a quintessential holiday symbol and I recently received some new dies to make wreaths so I thought I'd put one together and decorate it with EO brads and bling. The truth is that you can use just about any shapes to make wreaths but one secret to it all is to start with a donut shaped ring out of cardstock in the color you are using and build on top of it. This is similar to making real wreaths. My cardstock wreath elements all started as white pieces. The dies imprint the leaf veins so when I inked them up, the veins and other marks really come to life. I arranged one layer at a time and glued just the center of each leaf so that the edges would stay dimensional and allow me to tuck other leaves under them here and there. The goal is to make is look as realistic as you can.

Once I was satisfied with the base wreath, I started attaching brads and bling. Here I used the new Angel Brads and added Pinecone Brads, Poinsettia Brads and Red Jewel Bling. Then I added two layers of foam tape which gives a good amount of lift. I gently shaped the edges of the wreath downward to create a slightly domed look which again mimics a real wreath. I debated adding a bow but decided to feature a Tree Retro Brad in the center instead. I like the clean and cheerful look this gave it.

To finish the card, I chose a striped holiday paper for the background and cut an arch shaped mat in white. I stamped Merry Christmas at the bottom and then I applied the wreath and the silver circle with the Tree Brad. There's a lot of white space toward the bottom so I added three Green Glitter Enamel Dots to the front. This is quite pretty and elegant don't you think?

Vintage Christmas Angels

Today I have another version of the Vintage Christmas card I shared with you last week.  This little story book from KB and Friends Etsy shop took me back to Little Golden Books that my mom would read to me. I added Eyelet Outlet Gold Foil Star washi tape to the edge and since this little book cover had cherubs on the front, it was the perfect opportunity to introduce you to Eyelet Outlet's brand new cherub brads!

The cherubs are hanging some holly across the top of the card and I added a poinsettia brad to the greenery and some red gems.

The vintage children around the Christmas tree are Cricut images and I added some die cut greenery with Eyelet Outlet ornament brads and finished off with a gift brad.

Stay tuned friends, we're rolling out more new products this week and know you'll want to add them to your cart when you shop Eyelet Outlet!

Christmas Window

Hello Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season. If only we could slow everything down a bit right? Eyelet Outlet can help you look like you took a lot of time to make a handmade card with hardly any time at all. Today's card is a perfect example. This card lets washi tape create a unique background to a simple window die cut. Then the window is quickly decorated with several EO brads. Let's discuss how this comes together.

To start, I covered a white piece of cardstock cut at 5" x 3.75." I covered it with stripes of washi tape from the EO store. In order for them bottom I used: Tree Washi Tape, Town Washi Tape, Deer Washi Tape, and Holiday Washi Tape. Then I finished with the first three washi tapes to take me to the top. I really love how this looks. All the colors go well together.

I cut and pieced the window die cut. It's called Holiday Window from CottageCutz. I decorated the window ledge with Pinecone Brads, and single brads from the Ornaments, Poinsettia, Holly and Cardinal Profile sets. The detail on this ledge is really fun.

So you can see that this card took a small of time to create but looks complex and time consuming. It's always great to create something that makes you look like a crafting hero!

Tiled Washi Tape Christmas Card

Eyelet Outlet's Christmas Sayings Washi Tape features eight different 1 x 1.75" vintage postcard designs. For this card they've been stuck to plain white cardstock and cut apart, to make a tiled background. The sentiment and diecut flower pick up on the lovely colors in the tape, and also provide a place for a Poinsettia Brad, a Cardinal Profile and a pair of Holly Brads

Holiday cardmaking is faster, easier and a lot more fun when you have Eyelet Outlet Brads and Tapes to help out!

Poinsettias for You

This was a fun card to make and I was able to use the
last of the cute poinsettias that I had been hiding away
for holiday cards.

The cute image is from Hetty Claire and is perfect for the
Eyelet Outlet poinsettia brads I used along with the
red pearl gems. The washi tape is from Eyelet Outlet also and
in a pretty red/green color.

Tis the Season

Halloween is over and that means the Holidays are fast approaching! My favorite time of the year is now through the new year.

When you love Eyelet Outlet products like I do, you are always thinking about how they can be used to upscale stamps and dies. Here I used a set I recently got from Spellbinders to create a pretty wreath. It makes a great wreath but I think you'll agree that it so much better with the brads and bling I added to it!

I used two circle dies to cut a donut shape out of white glitter cardstock and then I cut and arranged all the basic wreath pieces using brown and three shades of green. I also cut and put together the bow. Then I added Bell Brads, Poinsettia Brads, Candy Cane Brads and Holly Brads to the wreath. I perched a female and male cardinal on the bow and added red Jewel Bling from the multi-pack. To create a stopper for my easel card, I added Green Cut Jewels to a red glitter border. I adhered a pre-printed foiled sentiment, "Tis The Season," which spreads across the wreath. All in all, this turned out even better than I expected!

I hope you enjoyed my card and I thank you for stopping by today. Please visit the store for all your brads, washi tape, bling and paper flowers!

Elizabeth's Top 3 Favorites!

Today, as we close out 2022, I am sharing my top three favorite
projects that I made with Eyelet Outlet products.
The actual Eyelet Outlet materials used are listed at the end.

Santa Down the Chimney

This card I really liked with the Stanta hanging from the chimney. I could
not pass up the Santa Claus brads and boots. I also loved how the
poinsettias also fancied up the mantlepiece.

Holiday Tags

I loved these tags and could not believe how they worked up so nicely
with washi tape and the fancy Eyelet Outlet gems I used.
These tags really turned out festive and I made some extras
to attach to packages for special friends and hostess gifts.

I selected this card (which I adore) because of the cute pilgrim hats.
On my blog I received many comments especially about the
pilgrim hat brads.

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree...

...with a fun ornament card! Ornament shapes make a wonderful home for pretty much ANY style of Eyelet Outlet Brad you love, but our Poinsettia Brads look especially pretty on a background of tiny flowers (some diecut from our Sparkle Red Glitter Tape!) and foliage. Music Note Washi instantly puts a holiday tune into our head, and a stamped plaid background set off by mats of more Sparkle Red Glitter Tape really shines!

Whether you are decorating for Christmas or celebrating Hanukkah, I hope your week will be full of light, love and laughter!

is currently adding ACTUAL ornaments to that tree!

Holiday Style is in the Bag!

Or rather, it's ON the bag! And, for that matter, other surface you'd like to decorate; because Eyelet Outlet brads and washi tape are wonderful for adding a festive holiday vibe to so much more than just cards! Like, for example, this plain white bag from the big box store:

To make your own custom washi tape diecuts, just line strips of your favorite tape up neatly on scraps of plain white cardstock and diecut as usual. These chunky letters feature, from left to right, Red Santa WashiVertical Tree TapePoinsettia Tape and vertically oriented Heart Tape. By choosing tapes with similar colors, they mix nicely; if you'd like more variety, add other shades. On top of the letters, we have some festive brads, including: Santa and Mrs. Claus, a Snowy Tree, a Poinsettia, a Holly Brad and a Snowman. To marry the letters to the bag I created a border by adding five strips of Garland Washi, flanked at the top and bottom by Glitter Green Skinny Tape. I carried all the tapes around to the sides of the bag and trimmed them neatly inside the crease. A bow... with a Candy Cane Brad... and a bit of red tissue paper, and this plain jane white bag is now a lovely customized gift! Instead of a holiday sentiment, you could adorn a big with washi tape initials or names; or use any of your favorite holiday shaped dies like ornaments, trees or even reindeer!

The Eyelet Outlet Store has brads, tapes, bling, enamels and sequins for literally ANY occasion you'd care to celebrate!

adores all things gift-wrap related!

Christmas Tree Season

Do you feel the spirit yet? Nothing says Christmas more than a decorated Christmas tree! In this 5 x 7 card, I began by die cutting the word tree die cut out of green cardstock. I layered a rectangle of white cardstock with the Ho Ho Let It Snow Washi Tape and cut it with a die. Then I layered Sparkle White Glitter Washi Tape on another rectangle and glued the green tree to it. I fussy cut around the tree shape and attached it to the red washi tape background. This allows the die cut to stand out on the red background.

Next I cut the larger background shape in white cardstock and adhered the main images together. I chose to use a dark red premade 5 x 7 card base from Michaels. I thought it needed more to fill in some of the blank spots so I added a strip of Tree Washi Tape and a strip of gold metallic washi tape. That is one of the rolls in a set of Skinny Holiday Washi Tapes

It was time to decorate the tree so I added all the various brads and bling shown in the Shopping List below. I love how this turned out. The brads enhance the tree die cut but don't overwhelm it.
