🧙‍♀️🎃 Gnome Mischief! Too Cute to Spook Witch Card

I don't know what it is about gnomes, but they sure are cute! Dress them up for any holiday, and they just make you smile. Today, I'm featuring two adorable, witchy gnomes who are far too cute to scare!

This is a 5" x 7" card. To start, I used a pre-printed card base featuring an orange, black, and white background. I printed and cut out the cute gnome image from my computer, then created a matching orange mat. On top of that, I layered a black lace mat, which was then topped with an orange scalloped mat.

Next, I placed two strips of Cat Black Washi Tape as a top and bottom border. It's such a simple way to add more pattern and texture! I rounded opposite corners of the card for a little extra interest before placing the gnome image in the center.

I added a stamped sentiment and accented it with a Gnome Brad. Finally, I enhanced the printed image with several other Eyelet Outlet brads, including Candy Corn, Cat Brads, and a Witch Hat, to complete the spooky-cute look!

Happy Halloween

I know it's a little early for Halloween, but it will be here before you know it, so let's get started!

By now I hope you've stopped by Eyelet Outlet and had a look at all of our new brads.  Among them are these awesome candy corn brads.  I created this card in Cricut Design Space using a jar from the Cricut image library. Using the slice tools and a bit of acetate for the window, I created a shaker card.  In addition to the candy corn brads which I fastened to the back layer, I added some of our amazing sequins.

How about these lack-o-lantern sequins!  Don't you just love them?!  I also added a few round white and yellow ones to the mix inside my shaker. The ghost brads are a favorite of mine, and I thought it was a perfect addition to the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today.  We'd love to see how you're using Eyelet Outlet products in your projects and hope you'll share with us on our Eyelet Outlet Fans Facebook group.

Boo! Candy Corn and Cats

I know it's only July but as card makers, we tend to think ahead for the next season. Such is the case for today's Halloween themed card. I am so excited to have two new brads available in the newest release from Eyelet Outlet. The first is Candy Corn Brads. They are a great size and true to the colors of that traditional candy treat. Cats Brads - Black are also new. They fit wonderfully in Halloween cards but can also have year long application. The cats have either white or neon green eyes so I feel that the green eyed cats are perfect for the spooky season and the white eyes are for year around use.

In this card, I have the cats peaking around the edge of the pumpkin and handing out at the opening. The standing cat also works nicely at the base. Two of the peaking cat styles are not full bodies which make it very handy to get the look of them peaking without having to hide the full body. This card also features the Bat Brads and Halloween Washi-Hat and Broom

The Candy Corn Brads stack nicely with the Peppermint Candy Brads. Although you might think these are for winter holidays, the purple and yellow peppermints are actually perfect colors for Halloween too! The stacked look of the brads, including the cat work really well on the Halloween Pumpkin which I cut from Cricut Design Space. Overall, this was a quick card to put together, especially when the brads and washi tape do most of the work!

Have a Spooktacular Day!

Hi friends!  I wanted to squeeze in one last Halloween card before it is too late!  I have been having so much fun with the Halloween-themed brads, that I couldn't resist!

I created a new (to me) fun fold for this card - a Split-Window card.  I think this fold was made popular by the amazing Jennifer McGuire.  It was really fun and relatively easy to create.
In case you haven't noticed yet, I am a HUGE fan of the sparkly washi tapes!  I use them ALL the time!  It makes a perfect trim on projects and this one was no different!  I used it to trim out the edges of both of my patterned papers.
I added a Witch Hat and a couple Mini Candy Corn Brads to the sentiment panel and popped it up on foam tape.
I really love this card!  As you can see, it is similar to a Book Fold Card; however, it has a die-cut between the two panels.
Shopping List:

I hope that you love it too!  Are you a fan of fun-fold cards or do you prefer traditional flat-fold cards?
Thanks for spending a few minutes of your day with me!

Welcome to Booville!

I have been thinking about my Halloween cards lately and I knew I wanted to do something with a haunted house. I didn't want it to be a scary house though. I think I succeeded with this shaped card. The house is from the Cricut library. I adapted it so it could be a shape card. I used some black Stickles to give the house a little sparkle. It helps I think to make it even less scary.

I used many Halloween products on this card from the store and the Vacuum and Broom Brads which are definitely not typically Halloween. It works though! I even used two Pumpkin Sequins on the stoop.

This was really a lot of fun to create. Notice that the homeowner left her vehicle on the step. I guess if you drive something compact enough, you really don't need a garage! Ha ha ha!

Boo to You

In this Interesting Year of 2020, Halloween is bound to be a bit different, so it seems like an especially great time to send cards and other greetings, doesn't it? Luckily Eyelet Outlet has plenty of brads to suit the season! I (Lauren) have made a trio of ATCs that can stand alone OR become the centerpieces of some fun cards.

EO Ghost Brads are so cute it's almost scary! Though these guys seem to have been frightened off by a pair of Mini Spider Brads?

Monster Brads, on the other hand, are not afraid of anything... except maybe missing out on their share of the sweets, like Candy Corn Brads! The Bat Brad in the corner is hoping they remember to brush and floss afterwards.

It's a banner day for the witch who lives in the last ATC, thanks to Taylored Expressions' Pennant Parade Cling and Clear set, also the source of the cute sentiments! She's parked her Witch Hat next to a Pumpkin Brad while she goes to fetch her Broom... or maybe her Vacuum??

I hope you'll be inspired to make some fun Halloween cards or ATCs to share with your friends and family. Check out all of the awesome Holiday Brads in the EO store!

says BOO to you!

Halloween Cheer!

For all of you who are fans of fall,
where is a festive trio celebrating the season!

Here I used Eyelet Outlet's new Rake brad along with Mini Leaf brads.
What a great duo!!

A bit of a film strip look to show case new Hallween brads!
How do you like those Ghost brads?
The Broom Brad is also new...and pairs well with the Witch Leg brads!

Our mini brads make a big punch. Check out the candy corn and mini spider brads.

Any witch will get a kick out of this cautionary card.

Eyelet Outlet purple glitter washi tape adds a nice touch.

To see all our many varieties, including our new mixes,

Have a spook-tacular October!

WITCH Way... to the Candy?

Halloween is fast approaching, but there's still plenty of time to grab some awesome Eyelet Outlet goodies to make your cards even more BOO-tiful! There is a spooktacular selection of seasonal brads in the shop, of which I (Lauren) have used only a few, including: the brand new-- and utterly awesome-- Witch Leg BradsWitch HatsMini SpidersMini Candy CornBats and Small Eye Brads.

Of course it didn't hurt that I unearthed an ancient sheet of patterned paper that had the sweet circle icons of witches, spiders and monsters, all ready for me to embellish!

But the ideas in this card would work with loads of papers and stamps. ANY small witch (or other animal, monsta or person) could wear the Hats (the packets contain all four styles); the Small Eyes have both sizes together and could be swapped out for the eyes of many stamped creatures.

In addition to the brads on my card, there are also Monsters, full-sized Spiders (to go with the Minis)Kitten Brads (they come as a mix of black and white, each in two positions) and lots more!

There are so many good Halloween choices in the Eyelet Outlet Store it's almost *SCARY*!

...does not recommend inviting Monster Brads and Kitten Brads to the same photo shoot,
especially if there are unattended Candy Corn Brads on hand!

Halloween Library Card Drawer

Hello again!  It's Deb here with more Halloween decor!  Last year I bought this cute little library drawer as part of a Christmas kit, and I decided that it would be fun to change out the cards inside for the various holidays, so here's a little sampling of what's in it for Halloween.

The cards in the first slot are ATC sized.  Here's a haunted house street sign embellished with a glittery enamel dot, pointing the way to the spooky house up on the hill.

The next slot is a little deeper.  It's got a Bingo card with mini candy corn markers, and another haunted house card.

This one is a clean and simple layout where the patterned paper does all the work.  It is accented with a ghost and a sparkling champagne jewel.

My dad was a pharmacist, as was my grandfather, so I am always drawn to old bottles...here's a potion bottle of Halloween microbes, complete with skull and crossbones warning, and swirling jewel bling "aroma."

The tallest card in the back slot is a coffin-shaped card.  I really wanted to stamp this one with wood-grain, but didn't have a wood-grained stamp, so spider webs had to do!  The hinges are nailed with orange pearl brads which brings in some Halloween color, but screw brads might have been even cuter!

I had a blast working on this last weekend.  I sat on the floor surrounded by Halloween stamps and papers and inks, watching football and crafting all day.  It was fun to use some of my favorite papers from my stash and a few stamps that haven't seen the light of day in a year or too.  I will be adding to this little collection as the days, weeks, and even years go by! Such a fun project!

Enjoy your week!  Don't eat too much of that Halloween candy you just bought!  ;)

Getting Ready for Halloween!

Facebook is full of back to school pictures. Soon enough we will be seeing pix of Halloween costumes, treats, and parties.  Get a head start on this year's scrapbook pages by using EZ Laser Designs as the foundation. Then pile on the embellishments from the Eyelet Outlet.
All that you need are the photographs!

I love glitter washi tape! It doesn't flake off at all!!
Aren't those spiders great?
