Morning Swim

Hello everyone.  It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today.

It's beach season here at the Jersey shore.  Lots of people basking in the sun, though only the braver souls are in the water this early...I am not one of them.

I'm sharing a card chock full of Eyelet Outlet fun beach themed brad sets; Sea Shore Brads and Seagull Brads and Sun & Cloud Brads and the Flip Flop Brads on the front:

and from the Spring release, the Sandcastle Brads on the back with a few repeats from the front.

I knew I wanted to make a card with a beach scene, so I let the brads determine what sort of image I used.  I thought the open and airy look of a shadowbox card would be the perfect backdrop.  The image is from Nana Vic's collection.  Of course, I couldn't leave well enough alone and resized it, reversed it, removed some items and separated the rope frame to place it on the front...gotta love that Silhouette.

I used both types of shells on the front after embossing the Soft Sky card stock with the Cloudy Day embossing folder and placing the rope frame around the opening.

The image was colored using Copic markers with a bit of Marvy Snow Marker for the white caps.  I used both types of seagulls on the inside.  The sun is an unexpected surprise you see when you peek inside.  And the flip flops finish it off perfectly.  Here's a closer look:

I didn't intend this card for any specific event; just a friendship card for someone who loves the beach...who doesn't?  These beach words are a Miss Kate Cuttables file, converted to print only.  I arranged them so I could place more brads on the back.

I think the seagulls like this card.  I hope you do, too!
