You're Import-ANT

I did a version of this card a few years ago, but had an idea to take it a step further so today I'm bringing you an updated version.

I've been enjoying this offset fold on this card base because it gives me an opportunity to add some fun to the inside of the card that shows when the card is closed, too. I used our wonderful green grass washi tape on the front and a trail of mini ant brads climbing up for some goodies from the picnic basket. I also added a small heart brad to my sentiment.

The inside is where I changed this version up! I found some cute ants among my Cricut images and added Eyelet Outlet apple core brad and fried chicken leg brad to them! These two thieves are enjoying a fine lunch, aren't they?!

Our Eyelet Outlet fans are import-ANT to us! Thanks for stopping in today.

It's National Pie Day, Sweetie Pie!

I've had Valentine's Day projects on my mind lately, and since today is National Pie Day, I thought I'd bring you a pie themed Valentine card!

The pies I used are one of the many pie images in the Cricut image library.  I inked the edges of the crust to give it a golden toasty look and also added a little glitter glue so they'd shine. To the pies I added an Eyelet Outlet cherry brad, a lime slice to the key lime pie and an apple brad for my apple pie. I also embellished with a couple enamel hearts, a rolling pin brad and a fork brad.

Thanks for stopping by a celebrating National Pie Day with me!

Teacher, You're Owlsome!

Greetings! Kids are going back to school now. From kindergarten to college, millions are starting a new year. My son is a sophomore in college this fall so there's no need to make a teacher card but old habits die hard! I am feeling nostalgic and I miss my son who has been gone a week now. So I decided to use one of my old favorite apple dies and create a card for a deserving teacher.

I started this card by cutting out 7 apples and pieced a stem and leaf to each one. I made a white A2 card base and dry embossed about 75% of it, leaving the cardstock plain toward the top where I was going to put the sentiment and brads. I arranged the apples over the embossed area and trimmed off the edges where they overlapped the card edge and where the embossing ended at the top. I added a couple Glasses Brads to help fill the space.

Then I cut a Thanks strip and applied it at border where the embossing ended. I cut another one in red and glued just the thanks word to the top of the first thanks die cut. I added Book Brads, Apple Brads, and Sketched Owl Brads. Finally I stamped the You're Owlsome on the front and I stamped "for being my teacher" on vellum. I cut the vellum into a strip and decorated it with green Cut Jewels on each end. I applied it to the card by dabbing glue behind the bling so the glue would be hidden.

Teacher Gift Card Holder

It's that time of year when we breath deep and congratulate ourselves as parents for making it through the school year. Don't forget to thank the teachers that made it happen before everyone heads home for the summer! Today's project is a simple but fun gift card holder that's perfect to hold your child's teacher something they appreciate. Before cutting the paper for this with the die, I covered it with strips of Tape Measure Washi and Skinny Heart Washi. The heart washi comes in a set of three pastel colors and I alternated the strips between the Tape Measure Washi. The heart pattern is printed in a holographic foil. It looks great with the wider yellow washi.

When this opens, the gift card holder pops up. I decorated that with a strip of each washi as well. A sentiment to say thanks to the teacher is included

To make the front of the gift card holder pop, I cut two cardstock circles and added school related brads. The first has a Mini Lady Bug Brad, an Apple Brad, and a Headphone Brad.

The circle on the right holds a Book Brad, Mini Lady Bug Brad, and a Sketched Owl Brad.

Here again is the finished gift card holder. I hope this gives you some ideas for a last minute gift for a special teacher!

More Fun With Puns

When Eyelet Outlet says we have the widest variety of brads on the web, they mean it!  Where else are you going to find waffle brads?!  And we have toast, eggs, and bacon, too!  But today was about the waffle brads since I was making a cute little Valentine for someone I love a "waffle lot!" A large red enamel heart finished this card off perfectly.

Speaking of our amazing variety, sure, you might find apple brads, but you'll only find an apple core brad at Eyelet Outlet!  And how will you tell someone you love them to the core without it?!! Add a few of our mini leaf brads and some more enamel hearts and you're set to go with a unique and fun Valentine card.

We love seeing how you're using Eyelet Outlet products in your creations, so be sure to tag us on Instagram or stop in and share on our Eyelet Outlet Fans Facebook Group.

Hey Fall!

Hi everyone and happy fall y'all! I recently ran into this beautiful basket stamp from 1997 at a thrift store recently. One look at it and I knew it would be lovely holding brads from Eyelet Outlet. I hope you agree that it does! Just goes to show you that you should take a look in your stash as well as keep an eye out for bargain finds at second hand stores. I really love all the detail in it. I can fill it with Christmas brads, spring flowers, summer fruits and flowers, Easter eggs, etc. There's so many uses for it!

I filled this beauty with Apple Brads, a Pumpkin Brad, and a Sunflower Brad. I added Mini Leaf Brads and Mini Bee Brads. I even added a Red Jewel Bling to the center of the bow. Finally I placed a strip of Glitter Sunflower Washi Tape. I think it turned out very nicely!

This card style is also from a very old card die set from Sizzix. It's quite charming and lays flat as shown for mailing. I will definitely be reaching for this a little more. I bought it second hand but hadn't used it. It's not quite as old as the stamp but it is marked 2013. It's been in my stash for at least two years! Aye aye aye!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Part 1

As a child, my mom used to sing that song every year right around the start of school and I didn’t quite understand why. Many years later, when I became a parent myself, I got it and would sing that song at the top of my lungs so my neighbors could hear..hahaha.

Although it may be a small reprieve for us parents, all the teachers out there are singing the same song but for a different reason!  They cannot wait to see our kids again and start the school year off with a bang!!

With schools starting back up, I though this is the perfect time to honor our teachers who devote their time, creativity and patience to our littles and to the bus drivers that safely get our littles to and from school. Truly Unsung Heroes!

With the help of many different embellishments from Eyelet Outlet, I was able to bring this four-piece Back to School collection to life!

The Apple Floral Arrangement would be a perfect gift for any teacher to have sitting on their desk. It’s approximately 6” tall and made with 95% paper!

For the adorable little worm, I used Dark Blue Glitter Washi Tape for his spots and two tiny black Pearl Bling for his eyes.

The highlights on the apple are made by using the Gold and Silver Print Glitter Washi Tape. Perfect amount of sparkle. All the leaves have been embossed to give it a more realistic look.

My absolute FAVORITE part of this piece are the FLOWERS! I made these from the White Paper Flowers that I inked with yellow and orange distressed inks.  You could never tell they were once white! In the center of each flower is a 12mm Black Jewel Brad

THESE FLOWERS!!!

Here's another fun gift for that special teacher!  A Crayon Treat Box!

This, too, is made from cardstock and pieced together to make this fun treat box. It can be filled with anything but I thought what teacher wouldn’t love some sparkly washi tape so I filled it with the Silver Star Glitter Washi Tape and the Green Patterned Glitter Washi Tape.  On the front of the box, you will notice a bright and shiny apple from the Apple Brads collection.  The very top has two Foam Hand brads dangling from a ruler letting our teacher know that they are #1!

Want to see more from the collection? Stay tuned!

The rest of the collection will be revealed tomorrow!!

Falling for You

Fall is such a fun season. I love the deep rich colors. It's comforting to think of all the comforts of fall - hot apple pie, colorful leaves, scarecrows, apple picking and of course pumpkins!

My card was created by using EO's Sunflower Washi Tape as a background. On top, I placed a wood and wire cover plate die cut. I made my shaker pumpkin by modifying a pumpkin pattern in Cricut Design Space. Then I filled it EO's awesome Pumpkin Sequins. I stamped the top of the window with the sentiment, "Every year I fall for pumpkins, autumn leaves, hay rides, cozy sweaters and you!" It's a bit hard to pick up in the photo but it is easy to read in person. Finally I cut two circles out of matching silver and orange cardstock and placed a rake from the Lawn Mower Brads, an Apple Brad and a Scarecrow Brad.

Framing Fall

When I (Lauren) saw this awesome Frame Washi in the Eyelet Outlet Online Store I couldn't wait to use it to show off a little collection of my favorite brads. Since we're heading into September and  looking forward to all things autumnal, a collection of Fall Brads, like ScarecrowsSunflowersApplesLeaf Brads and Mini Leaves seemed appropriate. Of course, with so many leaves, I needed the Rake from the Lawnmower Set (which is on sale!); and then I couldn't resist adding Sun and Cloud BradsButterflies and Mini Ladybugs aren't specifically autumnal, but the colors work nicely together, don't you think? A few strips of Script Tape set off the Frame cluster really well; and as a finishing touch, it's hard to beat a scattering of golden orange Sequins.

What's your favorite thing about autumn? Because I bet we have EO Brads and Tapes that will work perfectly!

is looking forward to Fall!

Hello EO fans! Janet here with an autumn card full of good memories and flavors of fall. I created a nostalgic café scene with the Apple, Coffee and Sunflower brad sets. Can you smell the freshly baked pie and pumpkin spiced coffee? And what would a fall table be without an apple shaped container holding sunflowers?

Back to School!

This seems like an especially significant Back to School season, so I (Lauren) thought I'd make a nice big slimline card with some of my favorite school-themed Eyelet Outlet Brads.

School Bus Brads are one of my all-time favorite designs, so I'm always excited to use one prominently. I've also added a Book Brad (in the colorful variant, rather than the more neutral; each pack has both), a laptop from the Computer and Headphones set, an Apple Brad and... mostly because they are the right color and size... some Mini Ladybug Brads

wishes you a happy
Back to School season!

Keep the doctor away!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Can you believe another Saturday has rolled around?! The weeks are flying by! Leslie here sharing a get well tag using the old 'an apple a day' adage! This sweet tag features awesome brads with a matching stamp set and my favorite enamel dots!

I die cut the stitched tag twice from white 110# cardstock and once more from 80# red cardstock. I created a faux tablecloth by stenciling red distress ink onto a stencil with a blending brush and cut it into strips. I adhered the strips to red cardstock strips and then to one of the white cardstock tags. Using the Apple Clear Stamp Set, I stamped the basket in brown ink on light brown cardstock, fussy cut it, and adhered it to the lower stenciled strip, and then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in brown ink. I put four Apple Brads in the basket and one outside the basket along with an apple core. I adhered the two white tag die cuts to the red one, and then threaded three ribbons through the hole at the top of the tag and tied them with bamboo crafting cord. The finishing touch was the addition of three White Enamel Dots across the bottom. Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

To a Special Teacher

Hello EO Fans! Today I'm celebrating a special teacher for these challenging times. Most of our kids across the country are in virtual school but as with all adversity, there are some teachers who continue to amaze for their flexibility, dedication and love for their students. This one is for them!

The new Mask, Soap and Hand Sanizer brad set was perfect for this one. I also used a Graduation Hat brad and two apples from the Apple brad set. The stamp set used was Peek A Boo Pals from Avery Elle, So Owlsome from Lawn Fawn and the polaroid frame is a die from Jillian Vance Design.
