Silver Bells

I love beating the summer heat by chilling in my airconditioned craft room creating my annual Christmas cards. Christmas in July ideas abound on social media this month, so I'm joining the fun.

I've been on the Eyelet Outlet Design Team for a quite a while and these beautiful bell brads have been around even longer, but for some reason, I had never used them in a project before until recently! Last week I showed you the gold ones and today I'm featuring the silver ones in a pretty holiday card.

I used a music digital paper with hues of blue for the frame and I thought it looked so pretty against the dark blue background. I used white glitter card stock for the snow at the base of the card. On the street light I used an Eyelet Outlet wreath brad, and atop the pretty silver bells is a holly brad. And of course, since I was singing this pretty classic Christmas song as I worked, a music note brad seemed an obvious choice.

 

An Angel Gets Its Wings

I love old movies and the 1946 holiday classic, "It's A Wonderful Life," is one of my favs! So to continue with my "Christmas in July" series, here's a Christmas card that pays tribute to that film.

I did the sentiment for this card with gold foil iron-on, which I applied to my cardstock with my Cricut Easy Press.  I added an Eyelet Outlet holly brad and gold bell. The wonderful little angel brads were perfect and the one on he left is flying near a cloud brad.

Winter Cardinals

Eyelet Outlet's popular cardinal brads are so beautiful on a holiday card.  Today I've used the female cardinal and the male profile cardinal on my winter birdhouse.  

The birdhouse is a Cricut image and I used wood grained digital paper for it.  I also added an Eyelet Outlet holly brad.  The greenery is also from Cricut and the pinecone brad really added dimension and interest.  I also topped it off with an Eyelet Outlet snowflake brad. The frame around my scene is created with a red and green digital paper. I'm excited to create a few more of these for this year's Christmas cards.

 

Vintage ChristmasI

I just loved this vintage sled when I saw it!  Without discussing my age -- I had one just like it as a child!

The vintage photo is one I found on line, but it reminds me of old family photos of my brothers and cousins ice skating on the pond at my grandparent's farm long, long ago.  This card was the perfect chance to embellish with a pair of Eyelet Outlet ice skate brads.  I added a little twine near the top to make it seem that they were hanging on the sled.  I also added a holly brad to the sled and a few lovely snowflake brads.

Reindeer Food!

When my children were younger, they enjoyed spreading "reindeer food" in our yard on Christmas Eve night! I have made little reindeer food bags to give to children for the last couple years! It is fun! 

Measure your clear resealable bags and create a bag topper to go over the top edge. I decorated my fun bag topper with a cute stamped reindeer that I colored in and added some bling to his bow for sparkle! I cut and pasted the poem and embellished with brads and washi tape! Lastly, fill your bag with bird seed and a little glitter! I hope you enjoy! It is a fun treat for children of all ages!

Tiled Washi Tape Christmas Card

Eyelet Outlet's Christmas Sayings Washi Tape features eight different 1 x 1.75" vintage postcard designs. For this card they've been stuck to plain white cardstock and cut apart, to make a tiled background. The sentiment and diecut flower pick up on the lovely colors in the tape, and also provide a place for a Poinsettia Brad, a Cardinal Profile and a pair of Holly Brads.

December Calendar and Bucket List!

Do you have your December Calendar and bucket list ready to go?

The holidays are always such a busy and joyful time for making memories! I decided to go ahead and set up my December calendar with a bucket list of memory making items we would like to do before Christmas!

I enjoyed adding the Eyelet Outlet brads and washi tapes I had on hand to create a fun layout! To create the matching Christmas pajamas, I covered the white t-shirt brad from the jeans and t-shirt brad collection with snowman washi and used an exacto knife to cut off the excess!

Sweet Christmas Wishes!

 Christmas is right around the proverbial corner and I am embarking on creating my Christmas cards!

 I started with tracing and cutting a candy cane image from cardstock then added my red and white stripe washi tape to create my own large "candy canes". I added candy cane stamps and candy cane brads to the right border and the Merry Christmas washi tape to the left border. Lastly I cut a tag, embellished with my sweet greeting and added ribbon and a holly brad! I hope this inspires you to begin your Christmas crafting!

Recipe Scrapbooking

 My journey with Eyelet Outlet began when I was introduced to recipe scrapbooking back in 2009.  I discovered their amazing selection of cooking/food related brads and I was hooked!  Over the years I turned to card making as my predominate craft, but now and then I take some time to return to my first love-recipe scrapping.  

This week I decided to make a page for a holiday favorite in my family.  It wouldn't be Christmastime at my house without one of these rum cakes!

I'm so happy to have replaced my tattered 1977 recipe card with this fancy page in my recipe scrapbook!  I used the wooden spoon, mixer, measuring cup, and saucepan brads on the recipe. All of these and many more all found in the Food, Drink, & Cooking Brads tab at Eyelet Outlet. 

I also added some beautiful Eyelet Outlet bling and gems, candy brads and holly brads and I'm so thrilled with how fancy this page turned out!

Snowy Neighborhood Buckle Fold Card

 A few weeks ago I'd never heard of a buckle fold card, but after learning about them from my friend Janet, I'm addicted to them!  They lend themselves so well to Eyelet Outlet products, too! Here's one of my recent ones.

I created this card in Cricut Design Space, but there are many tutorials on YouTube for this type card using paper punches if you don't have a Cricut.  

I decorated the front of the card with a holly brad on the house and a couple of little caroler brads at the door.  On the buckle part of the card I used a snowy tree brad and a snowman.

Here's what the card looks like when it's open.There's so many opportunities for decorating this type of card, I am sure you'll be seeing more of these from me in future posts.

Merry FIT-mas & Happy New REAR!

 My husband and really enjoy our fitness programs at the local YMCA.  We've made many friends and especially appreciate the encouraging and helpful staff, so I made them a special Christmas card this year.'

This sentiment from Cricut Design Space absolutely cracked me up when I saw it and I knew it was going to be perfect for their card. I added a little holly brad to the front.

This is called and accordion fold card.  Here it is fully opened. I used a fitness themed digital paper from azredhead Happy Heart Studios on Etsy called "Be Happy, Be Well" and other images from Cricut Design Space.

But the star of the show were the brads I used.  In all my years as a member of Eyelet Outlet Design Team, this was the first time I ever used the sneaker brads on a Christmas card!

Sweets are one of my weaknesses, so I added a few candy cane brads.and a gingerbread man.

Holiday Style is in the Bag!

  Or rather, it's ON the bag! And, for that matter, other surface you'd like to decorate; because Eyelet Outlet brads and washi tape are wonderful for adding a festive holiday vibe to so much more than just cards! Like, for example, this plain white bag from the big box store:

To make your own custom washi tape diecuts, just line strips of your favorite tape up neatly on scraps of plain white cardstock and diecut as usual. These chunky letters feature, from left to right, Red Santa Washi, Vertical Tree Tape, Poinsettia Tape and vertically oriented Heart Tape. By choosing tapes with similar colors, they mix nicely; if you'd like more variety, add other shades. On top of the letters, we have some festive brads, including: Santa and Mrs. Claus, a Snowy Tree, a Poinsettia, a Holly Brad and a Snowman. To marry the letters to the bag I created a border by adding five strips of Garland Washi, flanked at the top and bottom by Glitter Green Skinny Tape. I carried all the tapes around to the sides of the bag and trimmed them neatly inside the crease. A bow... with a Candy Cane Brad... and a bit of red tissue paper, and this plain jane white bag is now a lovely customized gift! Instead of a holiday sentiment, you could adorn a big with washi tape initials or names; or use any of your favorite holiday shaped dies like ornaments, trees or even reindeer!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

Hi everyone. Today I'm celebrating this card for being published in the Winter Edition of Creative Scrapbook Magazine. I'm super excited to feature Eyelet Outlet Products and is a fun one!

Not all Christmas' have snow. This tropical Christmas card has me thinking of warm breezes and sand between my toes.

This A2 sized card was created using cardstock from the Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow Christmas pad. The palm tree was cut on my Cricut with a free file from Printable Cuttable Creatables called Christmas Palm Tree. I cut all the pieces out and put two slits in the sand piece and inserted the bottles from the Beer Brad set. Then I covered the sand piece with embossing ink and heat embossed it with Sand powder from Hero Arts. Then I glued everything down on the back ground and inserted the Holiday Light brads. I also used a Holly brad near the coconuts. I printed the sentiment on photo paper, cut and matted it on matching cardstock.

I was inspired to do this card by the Corona beer commercial where it's a dark night and you hear a guy whistling Oh Christmas Tree. Then suddenly a single lighted palm tree brightens the picture. I love that commercial and the beer isn't too bad either! LOL! 

The inside sentiment continues the "warm" vibe. I colored this with Wink of Stella Fine Glitter Pens.

After doing many traditional Christmas cards, this one was a breath of fresh air. I hope it took you on a quick magical trip to the tropics too!

Christmas Gift Box

One of my favorite things about the holidays is using my craft supplies to create beautiful gift boxes for my family and friends.  I used my Cricut to create this particular box.  The bottom is  made with white cardstock and I used a digital snowflake paper to create the lid.

I added some gorgeous Eyelet Outlet snowflake bling in both the 1.5" inch size and also the larger 2" size.. I created this slider for the top also and added some skinner silver washi tape, a holly brad, the new Santa brad, and a heart brad.  I applied silver glitter washi tape to a strip of card stock to create the band that the slider fits on to.

At the Creech Household, the prettier the package, the more likely the gift is underwear!

 

Making A List, Checking It Twice

Eyelet Outlet's new Santa brad will have you believing in Santa again!  Or at least believing that you need to order some of these cuties for your Christmas crafting! Today I'm bringing you a personalized gift tag featuring this retro looking St. Nick!

I also added a little holly brad behind him and some of our lovely snowflake sequins here and there.  These are great for shaker cards, but you can also adhere them to your cards with a dot of liquid adhesive for a perfect touch of sparkle. The clip board and pencil are from the Cricut image library and I used my Cricut to personalize Santa's list for my daughter and her family.  Of course, they all made the "Nice List!"

Oh Deer!

The new Eyelet Outlet Brads just get better and better, don't you think? Today's card features the Deer from our new vintage-inspired Santa and Deer set, as well as the Snowy Tree Brads. 

Of course, the new items pair really well with the older ones, too! Such as Holly Brads, Heart Pearls, two styles of Tree Tape, Wood Washi, Sparkle White Glitter Tape and Glitter White Enamel Dots!

Magical Christmas

 I'm making some more magic for you this week with the new Eyelet Outlet gnome brads.  Today I've paired my little gnome with one of our cute snowman brads in front of his little gnome home that I found on Cricut Design Space.  

I altered the gnome home a bit by adding a gingham digital paper to the roof as well as a snow cap on the center roof. The sentiment is set off with a snowflake brad and there's a holly brad over the door.

Lauren's Holiday Favorites!

I (Lauren) am excited to look back on several years' worth of Eyelet Outlet holiday cards and choose a few to show off today!

This Peaceful Winter card from last December shows off all my favorite winter animal brads as holiday ornaments: sweet Polar Bears, handsome Moose and adorable Penguins; as well as Pine Tree Brads, Snowflakes and Jewel Bling Strip ornament hangers.

This coffee-centic card, Fa-La-La-La Latte, is from November 2019, and features our Holiday Coffee Cups, Holly Brads and Poinsettia Washi; all of which I still adore!

This fun mini gift bag was part of our multi-designer 2017 Christmas in July Wrap-Up post, and it's a favorite because of how FAST and flexible the design is: I added a Men's Hat Brad and some Pearl Bling buttons to a stamped snowman, a Candy Cane Brad to Solid Color Paper Flowers and an eclectic mix of Washi Tapes (including Wide Tree Washi, Merry Christmas Tape, Music Note Tape, Skinny Solid Tape, Skinny Hearts Washi) which I selected almost randomly. Such a fun way to add personal style to an inexpensive gift bag!

Christmas Ornaments

I've been getting ready for Christmas lately and having so much fun creating felt ornaments for my tree and incorporating Eyelet Outlet products in the designs.  

I ironed Wonder Under fusible webbing to the felt, peeled off the paper backing and then cut the pieces with my Cricut Maker and rotary blade.  I assembled the pieces and pressed with a damp pressing cloth to adhere them and then added the different Eyelet Outlet brads and sequins to the ornaments before hand stitching the rounds together, tucking a bit of batting inside before taking the final stitches.
